Right? I look at some of those games and am absolutely horrified at the violence. First time I saw John Wick it made my skin crawl. And now they made what, four or five of them? Dehumanize the bad guys and shoot them in the skull, repeatedly, that's fun! We live in a culture that glorifies killing and somehow are surprised when kids actually play it out.

What did 17 year old Kyle Rittenhouse have an AR there for in the first place, why was it in his car? Does he have parents? Do they condone that sort of thing? I have a few questions for his parents, assuming he has them. The kid had to live somewhere. Is he fully cognizant of what he's done and how much - if any - did the absolute glorification of extreme violence play in this? At 17 wasn't everybody's head up their own ass?

Nancy Lanza might have something to say about parenting and gun safety, if she were here that is.

Yes, yes, yes, 100%. I'm a firm gun rights supporter but I also think these idiots dressing like Call of Duty characters while brandishing rifles are hurting our cause in ways that the gun ban crowd never could. Perhaps worse, the other side is now doing the same thing.
You can see from the video and pictures of the Kyle Rittenhouse incident that the last person he shot (in the arm, and who survived) produced a handgun just as he got shot.

BLM protestor Garrett Foster was wielding a rifle when he was shot dead by a motorist in Texas at the end of last month:

Watching from a different country, when things are put in a recent history perspective, say the last 30 years, how normal or not-normal these protests realty are, from point of view of somebody who lives in a country?

Racism is the most serious issue, but it seems that BLM protesters are not protesting against racism, but more just to be heard and impose their broader agenda.

It's probably the worst civil unrest in the US for 50 years. There were the LA riots in 1992, which were severe, but they occurred in only a single city over the course of a week.

I am all for freedom of expression, public protest, etc. and I am, unlike most Brits, for freedom of firearm ownership.

But the two don't go together.

Nobody should be bringing firearms to demonstrations. Demonstrations are a highly emotionally charged situation and ordinary violence with fists, throwing stones and police truncheons, water cannons, etc. is more than enough. There should definitely be a law that bans private people from bringing firearms to public protests. Only police should be authorized to administer the use of force.

In my opinion, anybody bringing firearms to demonstrations should be automatically charged with the premeditated murder attempt.

Racism is the most serious issue, but it seems that BLM protesters are not protesting against racism, but more just to be heard and impose their broader agenda.

Racism is at the heart of it but that issue has been hijacked. Most of this looks like chaos just for chaos' sake.

It all leads to the Civil war. As long as the elite are willing to spend billions buying mercenaries to stage protests and demonstrations on U.S citizens then this is a dictatorship. Nothing more.

I don't have Faith in Red or Blue anymore, I have Faith in my ability to protect my family from all harm. There is no political garbage someone can throw at me that would make me agree to let some protester demonstrate on my family.
As I see it's them or us, And they had best stay away from my family. I will do literally whatever I have to to keep my loved ones safe. From anyone.


I didn't start the hate and violence, But I will stop at nothing to protect my family from it.

People may think I've lost it. Surely that's a likelihood with me. but, in counter to this, If you, and I say "you" as in anyone who is considering my words, hasn't stopped and thought to themselves, " What would you do if some group of thugs was kicking your father or mother, down on the ground screaming for political justice" If you haven't stopped and considered, What has your Father or Mother or sister did to their political divisive movements? People sometimes attack the innocent because they are out for blood, and they don't care whos it is.

Some day, You may have to protect someone you care about from someone who is confused and enraged. I urge you to defend your loved one, So hard. That those confused enraged individuals think twice before they harm someone else.

If we have One Job, That Job is to protect our loved ones from harm, I have no time to sort out why nameless stranger wants to hurt my sister. That's not my Job., My Job is to protect my family.

That's what your job should be... What people don't really get is, It's just like with Isis and the Terrorist situation. Soft snowflaky people are still holding on to butterflies and glitter dreams, screaming for the peace.

I know this seems excessive. I'm not trying to sound excessive here. I really have fears that these kinds of protests and riots are going to occur in every state nearing the election. I strongly feel that some political force is literally trying to bully people away from the voting booths. Times really are that bad :(



As I see it. If they bully the Reps away from the voting booths and only allow dems to escape unharmed, Then Dem states will be "Totally" dem. Because I assume these riots won't occur in primarily Rep states. So, Do a little math, You begin to see an election interference plan that is literally this simple, In primarily Democratic regions, Scare the Republican vote away with violence. Then The Democratic Vote nationwide consumes the Gap, Bing bodda boom, Democratic president. And this will have been achieved with violence and fear. And what's worse, If this works., I mean really truly works, Then who would be left to press charges. With a fully Dem government. I don't know, People will probably think I'm crazy. But, Look at the News. See the World. See how things really are and what's really happening. This isn't such a crazy plan, It's a very likely strategy of political war.

Civil War? Take the tour and you get to see the desk at which an esteemed member of the House beat down the esteemed ass of a Senator for running his mouth. He did it with a steel tipped cane and walked away without consequence.

I don't see a few members calling AOC names on the Capitol steps as quite the same, but on the other hand I see the level of piss & vinegar & rhetoric rising to point that violence between House and Senate members wouldn't come as a surprise.

But in reality it would likely be a release of the obvious sexual tension between Pelosi and McConnell. It would start as an argument, develop into a physical confrontation, then they'd go at it and f**k like crazed weasels right there on the chamber floor.

Only then can we move forward and heal the nation.

The Caning of Senator Charles Sumner
May 22, 1856

On May 22, 1856, the "world's greatest deliberative body" became a combat zone. In one of the most dramatic and deeply ominous moments in the Senate's entire history, a member of the House of Representatives entered the Senate Chamber and savagely beat a senator into unconsciousness.

The inspiration for this clash came three days earlier when Senator Charles Sumner, a Massachusetts antislavery Republican, addressed the Senate on the explosive issue of whether Kansas should be admitted to the Union as a slave state or a free state. In his "Crime Against Kansas" speech, Sumner identified two Democratic senators as the principal culprits in this crime—Stephen Douglas of Illinois and Andrew Butler of South Carolina. He characterized Douglas to his face as a "noise-some, squat, and nameless animal . . . not a proper model for an American senator." Andrew Butler, who was not present, received more elaborate treatment. Mocking the South Carolina senator's stance as a man of chivalry, the Massachusetts senator charged him with taking "a mistress . . . who, though ugly to others, is always lovely to him; though polluted in the sight of the world, is chaste in his sight—I mean," added Sumner, "the harlot, Slavery."

Representative Preston Brooks was Butler's South Carolina kinsman. If he had believed Sumner to be a gentleman, he might have challenged him to a duel. Instead, he chose a light cane of the type used to discipline unruly dogs. Shortly after the Senate had adjourned for the day, Brooks entered the old chamber, where he found Sumner busily attaching his postal frank to copies of his "Crime Against Kansas" speech.

Moving quickly, Brooks slammed his metal-topped cane onto the unsuspecting Sumner's head. As Brooks struck again and again, Sumner rose and lurched blindly about the chamber, futilely attempting to protect himself. After a very long minute, it ended.

Bleeding profusely, Sumner was carried away. Brooks walked calmly out of the chamber without being detained by the stunned onlookers. Overnight, both men became heroes in their respective regions.

Surviving a House censure resolution, Brooks resigned, was immediately reelected, and soon thereafter died at age 37. Sumner recovered slowly and returned to the Senate, where he remained for another 18 years. The nation, suffering from the breakdown of reasoned discourse that this event symbolized, tumbled onward toward the catastrophe of civil war.

Mrs.Pigfarmer and I were just chewing the fat at the breakfast table. No doubt this will get me labeled a Todd or Karen or just a*****e, but here you go:

Read a book years ago called Trooper Down about the (I think) North Carolina State Police. An officer mentioned that traffic stops on vans were cause for concern since you can't really tell what's inside as you walk up on it in a traffic stop. They made it s.o.p to touch the side of the vehicle to leave a fingerprint in case they were suddenly gunned down so there might be evidence later if needed. That little factoid is a bit sobering and should give you some insight as to what it's like to walk up on a strange vehicle on a roadside alone.

Since I drove a service truck with no windows, cages and all that I took the advice to heart. Statistically with the amount of time I spent on the road I got pulled over a number of times. Rarely ticketed and here's why: I shut the vehicle off kept my hands up on the steering wheel and didn't say a word until spoken to. When inevitably asked 'do you know how fast you were going' I never lied or tried to be clever. Way I look at it, this cop does this a million times a week and just wants it over with. I just did my best to get through it and never had a real problem. Definitely some annoying ones but never one that rose to a serious level. Local cops are the worst and present the greatest chance of poor behavior, IMO.

I realize that if I happen to be black, maybe owned a nice car and constantly got pulled over because I fit a profile I'd be pissed with good reason. I got utterly lost once in San Antonio with a coworker. They put the highways up on giant concrete poles down there and it confuses the hell out of Yankees. Cops saw a white man and a black man driving a rental car suspiciously in a rough Latino neighborhood - we instantly won the prize because we fit the drug seeking profile. The prize was to have our car and our persons tossed on the curbside. My friend wasn't an American citizen and Jesus, I thought they were going to snap on a glove and examine his prostate right there on the street. I was absolutely pissed and can say that the city cops were something less than professional. Left us a big mess and a few sarcastic comments and a big F-U from me to the city of San Antonio. Humiliating and infuriating.

But I understand what happened.

I had to endure it and get past it, like apiece of corn flowing through your system.

What do you suppose might have happened if I had not cooperated?

Fighting with the cop on the street is a pointless recipe for disaster and can precipitate behavior from that very human officer that demonstrates that not everyone reacts well under stress. If Jacob Blake - that fine specimen of humanity that no doubt you would have been happy to invite over for dinner - had just shut the f**k up and stood still he'd still be alive and free to continue living his life pure as the driven snow. But of course, saying that brands me a horrible racist without empathy or understanding. God forbid we might be accountable for our own actions - but in 2020 as long as there is someone else to point as say they are worse, we aren't. To suggest that racial inequality and police behavior might be something to hash out without violence in a public forum, well God, just vote me right off the planet. That would be Krazy Talk. Time for another efficacious Beer Summit.
