I have three days of hard work to look forward to this week, beginning on Tuesday, though it shouldn't be too bad as long as I don't try to do too much in one day...I have to set 12 concrete foundation pads that are 8in x 16in x 2in thick to hold 4 pressure treated beams, 4in x 6in x 8ft and all that under the backside and left side of my storage/gardening building on the far side of my property...Seems all the extra rain we got earlier in the year softened the ground on the back and left sides of the building causing the floor to sag to the left and slope back...I have to jack up the building enough to set and level all the concrete pads under it in 4 rows of 3 and equally spaced, 2 rows under the back and 2 rows under the left, then slide in each 4x6x8 beam over each row of pads, lower the building back down on it all...
I've already did the math on what height I need to have the beams at and how far I have to dig under each spot where the concrete pads are to be placed, so when the building is lowered back down on the new beams I'll just have to do some minor shimming and leveling...I'm hoping to take three days, but it might take longer if the work turns out to be harder than anticipated...I don't have any help on this one, digging and setting the concrete blocks will be the hardest part of it...I'm keeping the beams out close to the edges of the building so I don't have to dig too far underneath...I'm having the materials delivered on Tuesday, it's been raining all weekend here but dry weather for the next two weeks, I hope the delivery truck doesn't get stuck lol...I'm having them drive across the back side of the property so the materials are already close to where I need them to be...
