How is The Coronavirus affecting your life?

The one time I forgot my mask I saw one blowing down the street so I chased it, I got it, I donned it infront of a few people, I think one of them knew it was a castaway, that's how it felt anyway. I'll do literally anything to get it done. Had a bit of lippy in it , which was kind of a relief.

I walked into a small convenient store yesterday to pay for gasoline, wearing a mask, but after walking in the shop and waiting in a short line at the check out my glasses fogged up too much so I took the glasses off...When I did that both straps of the mask broke being hung up on my glasses frames, the mask popped right off my face onto the floor in front of me lol...I quickly looked around and couldn't see any for sale in that shop, I asked the woman behind the counter if they sold any, they did not, but she had a box under the counter and gave me another one...I had more masks at home but the one that broke was the last one I had in my car...ugh

I understand that many people have to wear a mask all day every day they are working, this is where a disposable mask is needed, so it can be changed regularly when necessary...If I had to estimate my time with a mask on per week I would say about two hours...I put it on whilst walking through the parking lot before entering a store and after I walk out of the shop I take it off in the parking lot when I'm distant enough from other people...I don't wear a mask in my car nor outside, but I've seen people wearing masks in there cars driving, I've seen people hiking in the mountains and wearing masks, and I've drove by houses and have seen people in their own yards wearing a mask, to me that's way overboard...

And you know this because you've had covid and lived to tell about it?...

...
You don’t just get COVID. This tells me this discussion will be difficult if you believe that. You may create a terrain for a SARS CoV 2 virus to infect you but that isn’t always a bad thing unless it turns into a disease they call Covid 19. Which by the way has never been proven to exist.
A virus is not a disease.

Honestly, not really. After nearly 10 years posting at AU, then AH - I've come to conclusion that a lot of debates are ineffective. Instead I type to reach out to the ones on the fence. :D

It'll be a waste of both of our times. If you deny the reality of germ theory, and how said germs can be physically seen under a microscope, there's a lot of foundational knowledge missing which'll make it akin to debating time zones with a flat earther.
I never said germs or viruses don’t exist.
We could not exist without them.

Well you are wasting your time wearing a mask. Especially outdoors.
a mask like most people wear is useless. It’s like trying to stop mosquitoes from getting in your yard with a chain link fence. You are doing more damage to your immune system than it’s worth.

Both my wife and I have additional masks stored in our car’s glovebox. The masks are cheap enough that I should have no problems having masks on hand. I would be the first person in line to say I hate wearing a mask but now a day’s almost every store or business requires that you wear one.

What the hell is lippy? b006 Does that mean it had lipstick on it?

When I got home from picking up pizza I saw one on the ground. It was in the plastic and had my arms not been full I probably would have checked it out. But it was raining so, it was probably all wet and muddy anyway, I didn't bother. :D

A virus is not a disease.

What? All this fuss over a disease that's never been proven to exist?

My Prime Minister just announced today that 10,000 Canadian's have died from Covid 19.

I was thinking of buying cloth masks so they can be washed and reused, I'm using disposables currently, a box I bought back in May or April seems to have inferior welds on the ear straps, after a couple uses some of the straps break...It looks to me like a sonic weld on the fabric where the strap connects, I'm very familiar with sonic welding technology for medical applications...I would hazard to say that the welds are breaking because the weld time was too short when the masks were manufactured...

When we first bought those cheapie blue masks you see on Amazon, I had a couple of the straps break on me. After that I purchased a few “designer” masks and all has been well thus far.

Sign of the times, right? Disposable everything. I've been washing and rotating cotton surgical type masks for months now. They tie behind my head and neck and are extremely comfortable - as far as wearing any type of f****g mask all day just to go about your ordinary business is, that is. If I wear one with those little rubber straps over your ears for 8+ hours it turns into a blinding headache. For me anyway. To walk into a store for 10 minutes though, no problem. Most big stores around here now have a box or two for you to grab a fresh one if you want.

I don't want to wear a mask, therefore the pandemic is a hoax.

I dunno about that but will admit that I do wonder about it at times. '
A few people I work with directly got it and will tell you all about it. Didn't sound like fun at all. But they are sufficiently alive to tell the tale and to me it isn't some statistic on TV, it's John, Jerry and Jack.

NEWS FLASH - coronavirus targets people with four letter first names beginning with J

Haven't we seen enough foolish headlines similar to that? No wonder people are getting fed up and are skeptical. 'The Media' whatever that is - needs to be flushed away.

Maybe ask Chris Christie his newfound opinions about masks. Christie Says He Was ‘Wrong’ Not to Wear Masks at White House

It was meant to be a parody of anti-masker sentiment. I don't believe that the pandemic is a hoax, and I encourage people to wear masks.

Gotcha. I've had several people tell me this as a 'plandemic' (among other things) But then, people tell me all sorts of weird s**t. I guess my point was that there have been so many nonsensical things in the news that after a while you stop paying attention or just get burned out from it.

I'm surprised people are so against masks - they're pretty nice. They're pretty comfy, and it's starting to get cold now so it helps with that.
I think people are literally only against them because they're being told to wear one.

Most shops in town have a free mask they will give out but you have to ask for one, they don't leave them out for anyone to grab...I prefer the straps around my ears over a strap going around the back of my head, and for one simple reason, my hair...I keep my hair long now, like I had it in my teens and I don't like my hair messed up with a long strap going around my head, yeah I know, vanity...lol

The problem I have is with warm breath escaping over the top and fogging my glasses. I spend quite a bit of time moulding the wire over the nose to the shape of my face, but there is always some leakage. It is getting worse as the temperature outside is getting colder, as my glasses lenses are colder when first entering a building. Sometimes the sensation of the warm breath within the mask is also irritating.
