I'm not sure yet but those critters usually don't come out in the daylight of an afternoon and run across an open meadow...I'm surprised the hawks weren't out today to see him, there's two local hawks that make routine fly-overs across that meadow, but they aren't around every day...

...

Found this if its any help. What you going to do if it is Rabid ? Maybe hope the Hawks kill it ? Can they catch rabies from the Racoon ?

The following are signs and symptoms of a rabies raccoon.

  • Rabid raccoons often look sick. While raccoons can contract some diseases, you shouldn’t attempt going close to a sick raccoon, call a wildlife expert instead.
  • A rabid raccoon will foam at the mouth. Foaming is perhaps one of the most common symptoms of rabies in animals. In case you spot this, stay clear.
  • Raccoons infected with rabies will make strange noises. While its common for raccoons to make chattering noises, a rabid raccoon will make an uncommon noise.
  • Rabid raccoons look confused, slow or disoriented. Healthy raccoons are active animals; they are always busy looking for food and going about their business.
  • The rabies-infected raccoon has a difficult time walking. Rabies causes paralysis in animals.

It was a zombie, clearly screwed up, flopping around unnaturally. Had to shoot it,

Yeah, I'm the bucket of water. They have to be killed safely and quickly. It's not that common, fairly obvious when they have it.

I happen to know this guy. Lighting rod for badness, literally. Professional electrical engineer, patent holder, very clever lad but bottom of the funnel if you're pouring a bottle of Weird Shit.

Sitting on a rock on the shore of a small island off Lake George. Having a smoke, enjoying himself. Very relaxed.

Until the rabid bat lodged itself in his hair, biting him furiously. Turns out, he's highly allergic to the serum.

I guess the moral here is that these things are best dealt with in as few dimensions as possible.

They come out once in a while in the day if they have a reason. Maybe it had to mail a letter.

I had a rabid one once. It was a zombie, clearly screwed up, flopping around unnaturally. Had to shoot it,

This one was running along fairly normal, didn't see any weird zombie movements and it wasn't making any strange noises, it didn't make a sound, except some rushing of leaves as it ran...Glad Kobi didn't spot it, he would have wanted to go after it but will listen to me if I told him to stay with me...I trust him at home like that, his obedience is without question at home, but when we're in the mountains I'm not so sure, he might go bolt off after a deer not listening to me because of the different surroundings, but he might not, so he's always on a lead when camping and hiking...

There was a mom and two babies out back earlier this year. I'd see the young ones out at all hours. Maybe when they mature they dial their schedule in a little better

The rabid one was totally obvious. Wasn't moving very fast and it gave me time to go inside and get my .22. I just followed it until it got to a spot where it was safe to put it out of its misery. Didn't touch it. Probably could've buried it deep but I double bagged it in the garbage. It's incinerated when it gets to the dump.

Its been raining most of the day and into the night, while I've been in my workshop tinkering on a project, thinking of breaking for the night...Hearing the rain hitting the metal roof can be very relaxing...

You have heard of the saying people with rocks in their heads well I am one who has a rock under my pillow. It's a very heavy mineral crystal called Celestine, it contains strontium nitrate and is good for making fireworks or helping your brain function better. It's also great for keeping the Hoolies away at night time. celestite.JPG

This week i`ve been dealing with an old shoulder injury. i get shoulder impingement every so often. I think its been a little out for a while so i used that KT tape and its alot straighter now, more squared up, I`ve been doing my stretches, had muscles popping, last night was the first night it didnt hurt at all. starting to get more strength back. damn that .... hurts. now get to haul off a bunch of wood thanks to that ice storm a while back, a tree service is coming with their bucket truck to get the big broken limbs out of the top of the pecan tree and dr it up a bit. i`m gonna save back the logs for my smoker and get ride of the rest. Than after that maybe i can get back to putting the 2nd and 3 rd coats of mud on the all the new drywall. I also changed my heat and air thermostat in my house, it was acting funny, a 7 day programmable digital one, i ended up getting just a plain round dial one no battery no programmable shit. and its made the world of difference in the way comfort in the house, crazy how something so simple can be so much better than the fancy stuff.

I'm one of those people who would walk around that table in wait for someone to help themselves and then it's on, one chip I will pinch off their plate. I'm trying to put a stop to it as I've been told off by an outsider but blood is thicker so I pinched another one from him, he cracked a smile like a horse who has just been broken in.

I got it from my uncle Lez who operates like a professional around the tables.

I don't know what to make of what happened the other week so i'll lay it out here. While working with a lad of 28 we stopped for a bite to eat and pulled the lorry up to a pond. I went across the street after a while and the lad Sam went down to the water. When I came back he had a Canadian goose in a bag in the cab, he'd throttled it by the water and stuffed in the bag. As we discussed the ins and outs of normal behaviour it came back round and right infront of me he throttled it again. He ate it with his mother which makes it ok as they are poor.

Like it hate it.

I just split about a half cord for a friend for his fire pit. Used to burn several cords per year. I like doing it but my hands are like baseball mitts right now.

I have a friend who sometimes has back problems. He uses magnets to treat the pain. He says they work miracles. It sounds a little new age to me but he swears by it.
