Idaho Man Busted Cooking Chickens In Yellowstone Hot Spring

This is weird, even by 2020 standards. A group of people, including a man from Idaho Falls, was recently busted in Yellowstone National Park while they were cooking a chicken in one of the park's geothermal hot springs.

The culinary event happened in early August, according to Nate Eaton at East Idaho News, when park authorities were given reports of a group carrying cooking gear towards a hot spring. Rangers arrived and found the group had two chickens cooking in the hot waters of a spring. The Idaho Falls man was given a citation for walking in the thermal area, to which he plead guilty. He was also given a $600 fine, probation, and he is banned from Yellowstone for the next two years.

I can't imagine that chicken boiled in sulfur heated water can be very delicious, and while Yellowstone may be doing many things to improve the park for visitors, cooking stations at the geysers isn't part of the plans. Yet. Travelling off the designated paths is dangerous at Yellowstone as ground can be brittle and home to a body of hot water underneath. Many of the geysers and hot springs are unpredictable, so park rangers take the off-trail excursions very seriously. Plus, you don't need to leave the pathways to have an amazing vacation at Yellowstone and you also don't need a lot of time. A nice weekend vacation to Yellowstone is possible for residents of Southern Idaho.

.
That's one expensive chicken meal!

Real-Life Orc – Man Has Giant Tusks Implanted to Resemble Fictional Creature

A 41-year-old tattoo artist and body modification enthusiast who calls himself Orc had two giant fake tusks fitted onto his bottom row of teeth, in an attempt to make himself look like a real-life orc.

Orc, who hails from the Brazilian town of Iguatemi, in Mato Grosso do Sul, got his first tattoo at the age of 15, and has since developed a passion for tattoos and body modifications, undergoing several procedures that have left him looking rather unique. The 41-year-old father of one has both eyes tattooed black, about 80% of his body covered in ink, a split tongue, several subdermal implants and sliced ears, but it’s his mouth that draws most people’s attention. Orc spent over $500 having a pair of large tusks fitted over his bottom teeth to make himself look like the fictional creature depicted in popular films and video games like Warcraft.

Titanic is a $125K-a-head tourist attraction: Tickets on sale now

titanic-69.jpg

This ship sunk, but Titanic tourism will go on.

In May, tourists with deep pockets will have the opportunity to visit the most notorious shipwreck of all time.

“All the bones are gone. There are no bodies down there. There are boots and shoes and clothes that show where people were 100 years ago, and that is very somber,” Stockton Rush, president of undersea exploration company OceanGate Expeditions, told Bloomberg of the RMS Titanic’s submerged wreck.

Beginning next spring, Rush has a series of six dives planned to visit the British passenger ship, which caused the deaths of 1,500 when it sunk in 1912. “There are better wrecks,” he conceded, “maybe even more important wrecks, but people don’t know what they are, and it’s hard to sell something when somebody doesn’t know.”

Rush’s upcoming Titanic dives — the first in 15 years — have both the goals of being research missions (to better examine sea life around the ship’s remains and create a 3-D model of its debris) and making money: A ticket to be one of a dive’s nine “mission specialists” costs $125,000.

In addition to the six- to eight-hour dive to experience the most infamous not-so-unsinkable ship in person, the pricey excursion also includes a private cabin on an eight-day sail from Canada.

As well, Titanic tourists will be invited to take a turn driving the five-person submarine — which has Sony PlayStation-inspired controls — during the 90-minute descent to the Titanic’s final resting place, 2.4 miles below the North Atlantic Ocean’s surface. However, they are disallowed from being divas or playing The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine.”

“We don’t want someone who is used to being catered to — a prima donna . . . We don’t have chocolates on the pillow,” said Rush, adding, “I hate that song.”

This is Rush’s third attempt at an expedition to the Titanic. His previous tries were respectively ruined by problems with his “mother ship,” vendor and lightning, which struck and destroyed his sub’s electrical system.

Three dozen people have already booked seats on the upcoming dives, approximately half of whom have also purchased $250,000 tickets to become space tourists via Virgin Galactic. This leaves only a handful of spaces available for next year’s dives, although Rush hopes to make the expeditions an annual offering.

Little Boys Hospitalized After Making A Black Widow Bite Them To Become Spider-Man

Three young Bolivian brothers made a black widow bite them in the hopes of gaining Spider-Man’s super powers last week. Unfortunately for the eight, 10- and 12-year-old siblings, the only real-world result was a visit to several hospitals.

According to Penn Live, the disconcerting event was made public by Ministry of Health official Virgilio Pietro at a May 16 briefing on the regional coronavirus situation.

“Thinking it would give them superhero powers, they prodded it with a stick until it bit each of them in turn,” Pietro explained. He added that the children had come across the spider while herding goats in Chayanta province and thought it looked like the spider featured in the Marvel movie.

Fortunately, the boys’ mother found them crying just in time to rush them to a local health center. Aware of the time-sensitive dangers at hand, professionals immediately transferred the children to a nearby hospital to be properly treated.

Things took a terrifying turn when all three siblings experienced muscle pains, fevers, and tremors. At last, a final transfer to the Children’s Hospital in La Paz brought them back to health.

According to Telemundo, they were discharged on Wednesday, May 20 — nearly a week after being bitten the previous Thursday.

A black widow’s bite is certainly not a death sentence, and the three young boys have recovered well. However, black widow bites can be fatal to at-risk groups, and children “are among those most at risk, along with the elderly and infirm,” explained National Geographic.

Maybe the Spanish translation of the comic didn't explain the spider had to be radioactive?

'Only in 2020': Hunter shoots 3-foot alligator in Minnesota

A Zimmerman sportsman harvested his first buck with a shotgun during the firearm hunting opener this weekend, but he is more likey to remember the day as when he shot his first alligator.

According to Cory Klocek, he was tracking a deer around a pond Saturday morning on land in East Bethel, Minn. when he saw a 3-foot-long alligator about 10 feet in front of him. Klocek contacted a game warden who told him he was allowed to shoot it.

"At first I thought somebody was playing a prank on me," he said of the moment he saw the alligator. "That’s not something you see and then I thought maybe it’s rubber it’s fake and then he moved and I said nope that’s a real live alligator in Minnesota in November."

He said he immediately called his wife after talking to the game warden, who was similarly shocked. "One of those things that you don't every find when you're hunting in Minnesota," he said when recalling his most unique firearm opener. He is not sure how the alligator found its way into the Minnesota woods, but he guesses that it was someone’s pet that was released when it got too big.

“Only in 2020 can you go out to sit for deer gun season opener in Minnesota and shoot an alligator,” Klocek said on Facebook. “I’m still at a loss of words.” Klocek said his plan is to mount the 10-point buck along with the alligator in a taxidermy piece. "This is one of those stories that's going to be told in my family for generations, you know?" he said..

In a statement Sunday, the Minnesota DNR said the animal would likely not have survived the winter and has no special protections in the state of Minnesota.

Here is the DNR's full statement:

While we don’t know the background of this particular animal, the DNR from time to time receives reports of reptiles such as alligators and caimans. Oftentimes, these turn out to be pets that were turned loose or escaped from their owners. These animals are not native to Minnesota and would be unable to survive the winter. Alligators and reptiles like them are invasive species in Minnesota, and they have no special protections.

Have rogue orcas really been attacking boats in the Atlantic?
The encounter is one of at least 40 similar incidents in the area. During the summer of 2020, the strangest of summers for so many of us, a group of killer whales off the coast of Spain and Portugal began to act very strangely indeed.

Getting a bit scary ... these things are a tad too big to just shooo! away.

I went on exactly ONE whale watching cruise off Plymouth, Mass years ago. One was enough. There was a group of whales (don't know what kind) about that size uncomfortably close to a Zodiac type boat. I thought we were just fine on a 50-60 foot vessel. It made you hold your breath to watch.

Until the Finback whale cruised past.

I was way in the back dangling my arm over the rail. Something ..... large ..... went by and nobody seemed to notice.

It came back.

Seems they have different markings down one side and I could see it better. Oh. My. God. We needed a bigger boat for sure. Even the crew was shocked and said they'd never seen that much activity all at once.

I will stay on dry land, thanks.

Armed Medieval Soldier Found at Bottom of Lithuanian Lake

A memorable scene in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” is Indiana and his father, Henry (RIP Sean Connery), having their first encounter with the knight guarding the Holy Grail. Recently in Lithuania, divers inspecting an ancient sunken bridge encountered the remains of a medieval warrior with his well-preserved leather boots, sword and knives at his side. What was he guarding and does Harrison Ford know how to scuba?

“Archaeologists, together with professional divers G. Krakauskas and A. Matiukas, explored underwater and captured the remains of the old bridge, at a depth of 9 m, on the slope of the lake, discovered human remains, covered with a layer of mud and sand.”

As described in a press release by the BNS news agency, archeologists and divers were studying an old 16th century bridge when they uncovered the soldier’s remains. (Photos here.) Lake Asveja is the longest lake in Lithuania (stretching 29.7 km (18.4 miles) and reaching a depth of 50.2 m (165 feet) and has been a favorite location for professional archaeologists and divers since 1998. Previous searches have uncovered boats, ferries, the old bridge and other artifacts from the 16th and 17th centuries when Grand Duchy of Lithuania was one of the most powerful in Eastern Europe.

soldier-4518942_640-570x473.jpg

Tell me more.

Who was this medieval warrior and is his story movie-worthy? While archeologists led by Elena Pranckenaite, a researcher with Klaipėda University in Lithuania, could not determine a cause of death, they believe he may have been stationed at Dubingiai Castle in the Molėtai district on a former island (now a peninsula) in Lake Asveja. Built in 1412 by Vytautas, Grand Duke of Lithuania, it was the first masonry castle and located there to protect the nearby capital Vilnius from attacks from Livonia. The castle and property later became a luxurious residential residence until it was pillaged during the Polish–Swedish wars (1600-1620) and abandoned later in the 17th century. Archeologists studying the remains and artifacts found with it think the soldier may have been a castle guard who was killed or drowned in combat, since there’s no indication he was buried. Pranckenaite says this discovery is unique and the first of its kind in Lithuania.

“(The artifacts) are really ‘fresh’ and still need to be carefully analyzed. We hope to ‘tell the story’ of this soldier at least in a year.”

Pranckenaite told Live Science the soldier’s skeleton was found with a pair of leather boots with spurs; a leather belt with a buckle; an iron sword; and two knives with wooden handles. The remains are under examination at the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University, while the artifacts are at the Lithuanian National Museum, where archaeologists, anthropologists and historians at the National Museum of Lithuania are working to preserve and interpret them.

knight-2826704_640-570x377.jpg

Sounds like a brave soldier.

Will they find anything movie-worthy? It’s a unique discovery Lithuania’s rich history hasn’t been the subject of very many movies. Indiana Jones and Lithuanian Loot? Raiders of the Waterlogged Ark? Atlantis Jones and the Last Lithuanian Warrior?

Sounds like it’s time to fire up the screenwriting software.

Man Claims He Met Robbie Williams on an Alien Spaceship

If you’re going to get abducted by space aliens, it’s nice to have a fellow human there to keep you company. It’s even better if the fellow human is a celebrity – maybe you’ll get star treatment too. And if it’s a huge celebrity – at least in your country – well, that’s the tale that a UFO researcher in England has decided to come forward with in a new book. The celebrity? Robbie Williams, the British pop star who himself has talked about his interest in UFOs and has had at least one encounter that he swears happened when he was clean and sober. Does he remember being abducted with Russ Kellett?

“I went through a tunnel and ended up in a room with tall, bald aliens. They had the looks of a human but were 10ft tall – that’s not the norm, is it? There were some smaller ones and they all looked the same.”

Kellett recently told Yorkshire Live about an abduction experience he had in 1999 – an experience he finally feels comfortable about revealing in interviews prior to the release of his book, “Through the Eye of an Alien.” Kellett claims he was riding his motorcycle near Druid’s Altar in Bingley, West Yorkshire, at about 10 pm when he entered a tunnel … and came out on a spaceship. He claims he remembered being in a chair, having a tube down his throat and getting some sort of injection in his neck. Then it gets worse.

“A helmet went over my head. That’s what I remember. Later on, I started remembering stuff.”

What he remembered happening next is being given weapons and sent out on some sort of military mission. Just as he started to panic, he claims he saw Robbie Williams behind him, also in uniform.

“I am in a military unit – on a mission. He (Williams) is behind me. We had helmets on. I was ready to go on a mission. I looked at him. He must have been ‘leader one’. I said ‘don’t I know you from somewhere?’ Robbie Will….?’. An alien then shouted ‘get back in line’. You do not mess with these dudes. This is serious stuff, it is not a joke. It is called abduction.”

robbie-williams-749867_640-570x379.jpg

Robbie Williams looking alien in wax

It’s also called ‘unbelievable’, as Kellett says he found out when attempting to retell his encounter at UFO conferences. That seems surprising since Kellett is known as “The UFO Guru and ET Motorcycle Rider” in the UK and has appeared on a number of paranormal shows. It’s also surprising that a publicity hound like Robbie Williams, especially one with a professed interest in UFOs, hasn’t told the story himself – unless he doesn’t remember it, is an alien himself or it didn’t happen. Williams claims he had a UFO hover over him while lounging outside at the swanky Beverly Hills Hotel in 2008. That one was 300 feet above him, but in 2018 he claimed to have seen another UFO that “if I got a tennis ball out I could have hit it with a tennis ball.”

Yorkshire Live doesn’t give any more information on Kellett’s abduction and alien/Robbie Williams encounter, so it looks like we’ll have to wait for his book to be finished and released. Or for Robbie to decide he wants some of that attention himself and comes forward with his own account. Either way, it’s a strange tale of abduction with a celebrity twist.

If abducted yourself, who would you want to see on the alien spaceship?

Wow PF, that sounds like an unforgettable experience mate. ... I'm a bit jealous , because such an encounter is on my bucket list! .. I like nature and love the kind of thrills that make the heart beat faster.
The closest i've been to a whale were the dolphins at the couple of aquariums that we took the kids to in Spain. lol [and the sealions stole the show anyway] ... I see that the average size of a Fin Whale is 20m in the Northern Hemisphere, so yeah, ten times my own length just gliding past me in a boat, would be magnificently awesome!

Cheers Buddy.
