I'm already paying Comcast for tv, internet, and phone....$200 a month.
It pisses me off that another service, in this case CBS ,which I already pay for via Comcast is charging more.

I don't pay for television, I don't turn it on much, so I will never pay to watch a star trek series, especially since star trek series have been free to view in the past...

Well, I'm more a fan of "The Orville".

Star Trek is about a flag ship or almost flag ship captained by one of the best in the fleet.

The Orville is about a mid level craft captained by "Nobody's first choice".

He does accomplish his missions, but frequently it isn't pretty.

Never heard of that one , thanks. After watching the trailer I'm sold. :)

Both the Orville and the new Star Trek Discovery have out done all we might expect for TV sci-fi.

I bring this post back up for two points:

1. The Orville, billed originally as a comedy - Is in fact mostly serious with some comic elements.
- But I have no complaints, it's good.

2. I was just reading Star Trek Discovery was supposed to be taking place 10 years before the original
first Star Trek series with Captain Kirk - You soon notice this doesn't add-up; the technology, such as the
'spore drive' would appear to be far advanced over the 'warp drive' they had in the original Star Trek series.

Nonetheless I have no complaints about the quality and developing storyline, and can't predict where they
will go with it; And that is a good thing - Also the quality is excellent.

What do you think?

I don't like the look of the Klingons, they look like Neanderthal Klingons...

I have not viewed one episode yet though...

The Klingons are knarley. They have evolved.

I lost interest in discovery.

Watched maybe 5 episodes then said F*** it, my time has value.

Not a lot of value apparently, since I watched all the orville episodes, but at least some.

I haven't seen Discovery but I have seen The Orville. I agree that it was more of a drama with comedy thrown in. I thought it was pretty good.
