Venom 2 is a no holds barred action romp. It is hard edgy and violent.
Filled with fights and thrills. I did not mind the thin plot
I will let my 14 year old boys shouts of
"Yeah! Kick ass!" And "Eat them all venom!" Sum up this film!
Me 7/10
Ian 10/10.
Hoping to see that one Tuesday.
We have $5 deals on that day.

No Time to Die
Cary Joji Fukunaga's direction gives the movie a really fresh and edgy feel.
Combined with Daniel Craig's Bond, with a fading machismo harness, makes it one of the best ever.

Average IMO. Surprising ending.

*Spoilers*

Let's just say, if they took the "no" out of the title, it would have been more accurate.

It sounds a bit too woke for my tastes...

I've gotten the same impression.

I've also heard that either a black or a woman 007 is being contemplated. Like you said elsewhere, if you want to promote a certain type of character, create a new one.

Well, I watched this film last night , [or at least the first instalment... I didn't know it was a two-parter?] .. and have to report that I was left with mixed emotions about the experience. I say mixed because although I would not discourage anyone from going to see the movie, I also have to mention the fact that I was left ... well, underwhelmed! ... Not that it is a 'bad version' per se, ... it's just that after the hype and the passing of '37 years' I felt sure that this 2021 effort would have ground the old David Lynch film from way back in 1984 into the syfy-movie-dust! ... But nope! ... the expected improvement on the special effects was [in my mind at least] so minimal as to be just about negligible. ... The only real difference that sprung to my mind was the use of 'insect-winged-helicopters' on Arrakis. [which were 'borrowed straight from another of my old guilty pleasures Lexx.] ... The acting was what I would call 'sufficient without being startling' bearing in mind the undoubted quality of the cast. Though i'm not too familiar with the lead casting of Timoth'ee Chalamet and was of the opinion that he might just have been miscast in the role. ... but the rest of the main character casting was pretty good. Bautista comes to mind as a pretty adequate replacement for the brilliant Paul Smith. Stellan Skarsgard elected to play his super-villainous Vladimir Harkonnen a whole lot more subtle than Ken McMillan , but as always, a fine actor and produced the requisite amount of menace. The rest of the main cast were all trusted character actors such as Bardem, Brolin, Rampling, Ferguson, Isaac and even Jason Momoa were easily up to the task but were never really taxed to prove it.
I know, i'm waffling again! lol. ... When I should have just said... it was o.k without being spectacular. ... And though i'm a little irked at having to wait for the second instalment... it wont eat away at me too much, and i'm now focussing on other 'upcoming and planned new syfy shows and movies' and hope that by the time 'Dune part 2' hits the cinemas, I find that Mr. Villeneuve has saved all the knock-out-glitz and surprizes for the finale. ... 7/10.

Cheers.

Then, Time Bandits.
In retrospect, Raiders.

Time bandits has the second feature Battle Beyond the Stars, which together is enticing enough to watch at a drive-in lol...

I watched a couple episodes of the reimagining of the Chuck Norris series, Walker Texas Ranger on the CW...This reimagined series is simply called Walker which has Jared Padalecki from the series Supernatural as Sgt. Cordell Walker...It really doesn't live up to the original series in any way, but as with almost everything else put out in entertainment these days, this series ticks all the SJW and PC boxes...

I realized that after episode 1. It has only a name relation to the original series. It's obviously not aimed at a similar audience.

No martial arts, for crying out loud!

Again, it's irritating that they unnecessarily went out of their way to besmirch the legacy of the original series. They could have effortlessly gone with a different title and character.

for anybody interested there really WAS a Texas Ranger named Sam Walker and he has an interesting story. He had Sam Colt whip up a whopping big horse pistol. I've shot the replicas. Kabooooom.

I watched part one of Dune today, for all the hype it was a bit of a letdown, it had its moments which I enjoyed, but overall this movie fell flat...The scenery, costumes, colours, dialog and emotion was too monotone, there was a lack of passion when it was needed most...Timothée Chalamet who played as Paul Atreides is too young for the part as well as Zendaya who played as Chani, both did not fit well with the rest of the cast and too immature for those two roles...Stellan Skarsgård who played as Vladimir Harkonnen, underwhelmed me and lacked any sort of passion while Josh Brolin was under used and perhaps should have played a different part...The CG worms underwhelmed me, its like they cut corners to save a few bucks, they look cheap...I'll watch part two whenever that comes out, but with much less expectations...5/10 at best, those moments I mentioned were few a far between, sorry, this should have been a much better movie...

Venom Let there be Carnage isn't a great movie and has all the clichés of most superhero movies, but when Venom's on his own, he has some fantastic and hilarious scenes! Also the post credit scene contains a stunning revelation that will just blow you mind! I liked this movie, it is mindless pure entertainment with little or no thought behind it. Which is both the movie's strength and its weakness. I feel like the most important thing to bring up with this movie is the pacing in it. The pacing in this movie is fast and leaves zero room for the movie to slow down and take time to breathe. It is a funnier and more confident movie than the first but fast-paced unlike the first. Overall a fun and entertaining romp with some great action sequences.

I watched Batman Assault on Arkham, I really like this movie, the animation is great and an awesome story tying in the Joker and Riddler with the Suicide Squad...Very entertaining...8/10
