Check under Gmail messages are missing and Rejected messages

If you think you are having problems sending, send a message to hpzta@slipry.net and we can cross that off the list.

I can send you a test message back that should be unfilterable.

Google should have notified you if your account was blocked.

But let's make sure you can send first. When I use gmail sending is virtually instantaneous.

Okay I sent to hpzta... and it was confirmed as sent. Why did I do that? Is it one of yours ? Did you get it?

I also resent to Nivek. I could not find a confirmation for the first time I sent it even thought it does say it was sent, the second time I did receive a confirmation. Hopefully Nivek will let me know if he got it.

No, the problem still persists.

I am only using a desktop. I don't have any other devices.

And a fellow member on a different message board is not receiving her email notifications either. I left a post asking if she uses Gmail but, have not heard back yet.

You should have two emails:
1. Test email.
2. Previous email returned in text mode.

Let me know if you get both.

I just checked archives and there is no notification emails from any sites in there.

Archives was really difficult to find!

Confirmed.

This is what has been learned:
1. Your address isn't a problem - you have received all my messages.
2. Your content filtering doesn't have any obvious problems so far.
3. Google treats a number of things as spam. Your spam filtering is tougher than my Gmail account.
4. You can receive email from non-google email servers.
5. You can receive messages from people not on your friends list or whatever google calls it.
6. You are receiving (presumably all) text mode messages.

You should have a gmail "All mail" folder to check. Make sure the emails aren't somewhere you haven't checked.

If there is no sign of the other members email (you apparently had other members send you email) within 5 days they should get "Undeliverable" messages:
Your message wasn't delivered because the destination email system rejected your message for security or policy reasons. For example, the email address might only accept messages from certain senders, or it might not accept certain types of messages, like those larger than a specific size.

Contact the recipient (by phone, for example) and work with them and their email admin to determine what policy or setting blocked your message and what you should do to make sure that future messages from you won't be rejected.…

If one of them could post the "source" message (the full email packet in text mode) I can figure out what the problem is.

I'm currently leaning toward some kind of content-based rejection since I haven't been able to get your mail system to reject me yet.

I received both of your emails, they were in the spam box...I also checked out Gmail filters and security and don't see anything out of the ordinary...

She says I'm 4 for 4 sending email originating from a non-Google mail server.

I did receive his email. I also got a thread notification from Fourtean Times forum yesterday. All have stopped arriving again. I am waiting for someone I sent an email to respond back. The address is not google, I think it was Yahoo. No response so far. I don't know if that means she didn't get it or she is just too busy at the moment.

I am curious as to why the response Nivek received from me was sent to his spam folder.

The next thing to try would be sending you a junk email ad or an attachment.

If Nivek and I can send you email it isn't you for text messages.

Zero length messages or suspicious content go into a gmail SPAM folder. If you send him nominal words (I used "Music" as subject and "Beethoven" as content) it shouldn't go into SPAM.

I suspect people are busy with pre-black Friday shopping and just aren't paying attention. That is probably most of the missing mail problem. Or you could be in their SPAM folders.

You can send to my email and I can tell you if it goes to SPAM.

Yeah, but, CasualByStander, it appears to be just the forum notifications that are not coming through. At least, that's what I thought. Then I got one from Fourtean yesterday. I stopped posting at Fourtean a least a month ago. Their notifications constantly went straight to my spam folder. I had to repeatedly mark them as not spam. Yesterdays notification was in my inbox not my spam folder. :unsure8:

I have checked everywhere, All mail, archive, spam and anywhere else that is possible. I am not receiving any notifications. I was going to report it to google but, it's my only email address and I don't want to risk them shutting it down. I am almost positive that I haven't been hacked.

I have been a long time member of Ex Isle forums and I saw that another member was not receiving her notification emails from there. The board owners response was that he has been "twiddling" with email configuration because he's seen indications that some Big Email providers are spamfoldering them. But, that should not affect my notifications from here should it?

Let me guess, the last forum notification was around November 12th?

I'm so bad about keeping track of dates, sorry. It was around that date, but I can't be positive because I delete my emails at the end of the day. Actually, I delete everything at the end of the day.

Why do you ask?
