Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

Jim Sparks, someone who read all the popular UFO lore of the day, and made up a ridiculous story containing not one ounce of truth. Aliens, time travelers, alien alphabets, and don't forget, he claims this happened every night FOR YEARS (when did he ever sleep?), and they took his semen at the end of each session. A complete load of bollocks.

They probably took his bollocks too.

The two people that Steinberg was relatively close to were Jim Moseley and Tim Beckley. Steinberg probably was envious of Moseley because Moseley inherited a large trust fund when he was a young man and never had to work a real job his entire life.
tim beckley is moseley if never went into the skeptics side and was still alive
both have that horrible tabloid level of reporting

Another terrible tale of woe has been released! Oh the humanity!

This one is called "Ongoing emergencies!":

Hi,

I’ve paid for the motel through Sunday at 11 AM Arizona time. Then it starts all over again.

But other obligations remain unpaid. For example, I’m no longer eligible for a temporary car registration and thus have to pay the registration fee for the full year to be able to continue to drive legally.

I am coming closer to finding an apartment and I’m trying to save enough money to cover the move, upfront fees, and the first month’s rent.

Cash flow is starting to increase again, with some small ad sales. The new Paracast web site and online store will debut within days now. It’s mostly about making last-minute changes to complete version 1.0.

In the meantime I’m running short of cash again. Can you help me continue to survive?

I welcome your subscription to our premium packages for the two radio shows, The Paracast+ and The Tech Night Owl+.

If you’re not able to send a donation, feel free to forward this message to someone who might assist.

If you have any questions about my living situation, please let me know.

I would also like to receive some legal help to deal with the online stalkers. They are also going after my family members.

Don't think Beckley has that malicious streak that Mosley had though - the kind of thing where he would mislead people and do all sorts of horrible things just because he thought it was funny.

I was once at an event with Beckley, and from my experience, he's a ugly little dirtbag... he was with a woman who obviously had self-esteem issues, and Beckley was being publicly emotionally abusive and disrespectful to her, we were at a diner (I think around six people total), and at one point, I had to restrain myself from grabbing him and slamming his head into the table, I was so furious. I think the woman was his "girlfriend", but the way he was treating her was just hateful. It was the very first (and only time) I've ever been around him, immediately afterwards, I called Gene and demanded he be removed from the show cast page, and if memory serves me correctly, he was removed until right after I left the show, at which point he appeared again. The fact that Steinberg refers to that scumbag as one of his closest friends tells you something about the sleaze he has associated with for many years - birds of a feather.

Wow. I always envisioned him as being a harmless kind of guy. I suppose you can't really know someone from hearing them on podcasts.

Thought I would make another account, I was under UAPwatchdog and quit for a while since it looked like the story was losing steam there, until recent events.

Yeah, it's me.

But given my attitude towards this septic field these days, don't be surprised if I don't last very long on here.

I can understand being jaded at the field, but have you kept up with the past year or so?

I feel like this past year has been the best year in the field for decades. You ran the show in the mid 2000's with a lot of enthusiasm. And in retrospect, it doesn't seem like a lot went on then.

With the NY Times story, AATIP, info, Jaques Vallee seemingly going out in a blaze of glory now back with his own research, George Knapp, Leslie Kean, Jeremy Corbell - this honestly seems like the best time to keep up with this stuff in a long while.

Steinberg is exposed, Sean David Morton is in the federal pen for a hard term, and the disgraced charlatans have moved on, passed on, or are being edged out for their nonsense. I would argue this is probably the best time for the field in a long time.

I respectfully disagree. I am aware of the events of the last year, and I don't think they're going to make a bit of a difference, and guess what? In the time of the downfall of the American empire by a treasonous GOP, there are bigger fish to fry and pay attention to than the deceptive nature of the UFO phenomenon. My absence from this cesspool is indicative that I have a life outside of this stuff.

And excuse me, the charlatans have "moved on"? You mean like Richard Dolan, publicly defending cokehead Alex Jones? Chippy Greer and his documentary monuments to his oversized ego? The Mexico City fraud of a couple of years ago involving Muassan, The Roswell twins and, yes, Dickhead Dolan? Give me a break; nothing has changed.

I agree there's bigger fish to fry. I'm not commuting to conferences to see the gems among the wackos, or planting a tent down at Skinwalker Ranch, but I'll listen to the couple radio shows George Knapp does every month. Or a couple of decent documentaries each year. I feel like there's actual leads now from something that actually happened, instead of everything just kind of pissing in the wind trying to hunt for a story as it's been for years before.

I think of it this way, there's probably literally a higher percentage of more delusional people inside of the the White House than the UFO field right now. Comparatively speaking, that's may be a first.

Not to get too far off topic, but what is with Richard Dolan? It seems he is trying so hard to make a career from UFOs that he got sucked in with all the riffraff that show up at UFO conventions. He was a person who at one time had some promise. Oh well!

I'm not disagreeing with that, I guess I just don't listen to those guys to be honest. They're fringe to me, except maybe Dolan and he comes off as one of those guys trying to prove he's smarter than anyone else with some grand theory of a coverup over the years. He also comes off as a both sides apologist. Working in IT, I come across those assholes all the time.

I guess I like the fact there's actually a lead on something. George Knapp interviewed the retired Navy officer who experienced the Tic Tac incident a couple months ago. That is the kind of stuff I haven't seen in a while, if ever.

I mean, I've already accepted for the most part you're not going to get the best and brightest in the UFO field outside of the rare gems like Vallee. A lot of it is simply dry, unrewarding work. I read he did a presentation for the first time in years last year about research and the makeup of materials, and most of the people went to one of the crazies conferences instead.

That's the problem, it takes a lot of work, for little to no pay, to research this stuff. Instead you can have some schizo shoot off random stuff and get a cult following who will empty their wallets. I just accept that stuff will never change and dial them out.

He seems like the male version of Linda Moulton Howe. Once upon a time garnered some early praise for being able to sound articulate and even look into legitimate cases. But when they saw the well quickly running dry, they decided to lower the standards to accept some more frivolous things to become a celebrity in a small pond. I think he even has his own subscription site now like Moulton Howe has had for years.

If you're out of material, then invent your own. It's about on the same level as Steinberg begging, but at least they put the work in to make something up, I guess.

Seems to happen a lot. Look at Linda Moulton Howe when she started and now.

I wish I could say that surprised me. Maybe it's because I'm a middle-aged woman, maybe it's because of my own life experience, but something about his voice always gave and gives me the image of a nasty little man who steals other peoples' cable. I don't know, I don't know him, never met him, never will, but that's the mental image I've always gotten.

Most, if not all of those people were personally warned off many years ago and it didn't matter then, I don't think anything will change now. I cannot imagine why anyone would post to that forum, listen to, or appear on the show given what has been publically known for years. Yet they do. Draw your own conclusions about what that means.

I just checked, and honestly I don't know how many active users are left outside of Gene, Murphy, and Ecker.

This is kind of funny though, Don Ecker and J Randall Murphy going back and forth in a forum argument, then Ecker pretty much stopped posting there since then. Arguing over an 80s UFO hoaxer who's been dead 17 years. What an 'old man yells at cloud' discussion.

Well, I heard all that and saw the forums and actually subscribed to P+ for a couple of months. Underwhelming. I actually have no problem with buying an overpriced coffee cup or t-shirt or even making a small donation to support a podcast. Lot of work put in to provide me with free entertainment. That's why I joined P+. I figure I did my part and they fell short of holding up their end.

That said, DE can be hard to take and seems to dislike Randall. Too lazy to look up an earlier episode but I've heard DE be quite rude to him before within the last year. This last go around and what I heard on the paid version really turned me off. On a side note, if my insidious plan for total domination is successful and I am recognized as Emperor of the Known Universe my first official action will be to have anyone who describes themselves as a curmudgeon instantly liquidated. IMO that's a way of saying "I can't hold my tongue and you will endure it."

Took me decades to get a violent temper under control and I literally have broken bones to prove it. Maybe someone needed a nap before they gave the interview.

Really trying to play Devil's Advocate here but I think the problem is that Randall has some terrier in him and when he gets on some point he won't let it go. And no point is too nitpicky to be haggled over. Politeness and the value of debate aside it can be grating and doesn't make for good - or paid - entertainment. I was actually interested in an interview with Allen Greenfield - no idea who the hell he is other than some friend of GS - but he made a few cogent points. He and Randall got into a bit of a back & forth over collection of statistics. He's new and seems overeager and since I know nothing about him am reluctant to pound him with a s***hammer. Maybe over time and in a different arena he's be OK.

As for the begging, again just to play Devil's Advocate nobody bothered me for anything. The profile let me choose what I wanted to get and it didn't include that crap. I registered years ago under a different name & email address and was inundated by it so I withdrew.

More interested in the wierdness than the weirdos but they all seem to come in the same package.
