So I honestly haven't heard about any of the plot but I'm calling it , I think Cap is going to buy it here . But I'm wondering cause I've lost track , hasn't infinity war already established itself plot wise that is hasn't the story already been written or is the series breaking new ground plot wise?

I heard a while back that Chris Evans/Captain America wants to move on with his career and there could have been an agreement for his character to die. As a comparison Harrison Ford agreed to be in Star Wars: The Force Awakens if they killed off Han Sol. The cliffhanger at the end of Infinity War was amazing in how they would remedy the dilemma created by Thanos.

This story has been told in different ways in the comic books, but this particular plot has not been told yet, I have a comic series that crossed a few different platforms, called Avengers Infinity and whilst it had a storyline about Thanos getting the infinity stones, it also dealt with alien creatures called Builders who claimed to build the universe and they decided it was too unclean form them so they decided to attempt to conquer the universe or destroy those who do not yield to them, only they had no idea the Avenger could amass an army of species from across the universe to fight back...

So yes, I think they are doing both, bringing to the silver screen older path-beaten plot but giving it a fresh storyline to bring in the dollars...

I remember Nope mentioned the comic Builder race on Alien Hub.
History
Overview
The Builders are said to be the universe's oldest race. As they were "perfect", they molded a path of expansion in which they created "systems" to control the structure of space and time, different races called Alephs, Gardeners, Curators, Abyss and Caretakers.[1]

There are two types of Builders, the Creators and the Engineers. Cultivating the universe for billions of years, they seeded worlds and directed the evolution of civilizations. Never had they been conquered. They were created by Captain Universe who saw them as her children.[2] The Builders considered her their mother and used to worship her.[3]

Infinity
When Ex Nihilo, a Gardener raised by an Aleph, tried to make Earth sentient, his own creations cataloged the planet as a "failure" after the origin site designated for self-repair was unable to stop it from experiencing incursions, and sent a signal to the Builders,[4][5] who started heading to this planet in order to destroy it and save their universe. Along the way they went about annihilating and conquering other planets in their path.[2][6][7] The main Builder invasion fleet was so large it blacked out a sun.[2] Some worlds were destroyed by the planetoid-sized World Killers, such as Galador.[2] Other worlds were turned into plague worlds by the suicide of a Gardener, such as Whaan Prime.[8]

A resistance conformed by the Galactic Council and the Avengers managed to oppose the Builders, although they still had the odds in their favor. The first attempt to stop the Builder invasion by setting up an trap, turned into a disaster as the Builders had set their own trap resulting in the loss of a third of the Galactic Council fleet within minutes followed by their full retreat.[9] They retreated to the Behemoth Ringworld and their analysis revealed that the main Builder invasion fleet had over 22,000 warships, including 600 Worldships and 12 World Killers. The Builders then sent a kamikaze attack of undetectable sentient drone ships against the Behemoth Ringworld where over a 100 million refugees now resided, killing the refugees and devastating the fleet.[10]

Afterwards worlds began to surrender to the Builders, starting with the Centaurians and then the Kymellians. After a 100 worlds had surrendered, the Kree Empire too surrendered to the Builders weakening the Galactic Council as they represented 1/4 of the fleet. The Spartoi then abandoned the war effort. Following the advice of Captain America they setup another trap for the Builders, which was successful this time. Resulting in the capture of two of the World Killers which were used to destroy almost all of the remaining Builder World Killers, forcing the Builders to disengage.[6] The Builder's main force regrouped near the Kree homeworld of Hala, but had lost the last World Killer due to damage it had sustained in the battle. By this time, the Galactic Council had lost hundreds of worlds and half their fleet therefore they were counting on reinforcements from a newly grown Brood horde and an Annihilation Wave to brought from the Negative Zone.[11]

The Galactic Council then sent Thor to Builder-occupied Hala on the pretense of suing for peace, whom liberated the world by slaying the Builder and regaining the Kree Empire as an ally.[12] The Galactic Council followed up the liberation of Hala with victories over the Builders. The Kree liberated the Kymellian homeworld (Kymellia III), the Galadorian Spaceknights freed Centauri-IV, and the Skrull warlords liberated Korm Prime. It was the Shi'ar (aided by the Avengers) who suffered the most casualties in this campaign as they liberated Rigel-3, but lost at Formuhaut and Chize. They then opened a gateway to the Negative Zone and an Annihilation Wave swarm of millions or billions came through but with a gesture a Builder made them devour each other. When Captain Universe arrived to the Builder Command Vessel and started defeating the Builders, the alien entities ordered their Alephs to auto-destroy along with whatever they could take with themselves as the tide of the battle had been turned.[3] After the liberation of Hala, thousands of worlds rose in rebellion against the Builders and aided by the Galactic Council and the Avengers, the Alephs on those worlds were destroyed.[13]

Time Runs Out
The remaining Builders from every universe had stationed in a Superflow, and worked together in a way to stop the Beyonders, a race of incredibly powerful aliens bent on destroying the Multiverse. They managed to locate one of the Beyonders, and tried to engage in combat, but were destroyed.[14]

Actually that's why I made that statement but I heard it over 4-5 years ago, the truth be told I thought he was going to be killed in the Ultron themed movie so I was kind of surprised he made it this far

Is this proof that Avengers: Endgame will reset the Snap and start a new timeline?

Even though we've had a trailer and that bleak Super Bowl teaser, we're still no closer to finding out how our favourite heroes will recover from Infinity War's devastating ending in Avengers: Endgame.

It's widely believed that time travel will play a part in undoing the Snap and bringing back all the dead heroes – Spider-Man, Black Panther et al – in time for their new movies. However, there's always been the worry that too much messing in the past could have serious consequences for the MCU's continuity.

A potentially cleaner way around the timey-wimey stuff would be that whatever the Avengers do in Endgame, it will only remove Infinity War from the timeline, resetting the universe to before Thanos clicked his fingers.

And a theory from Reddit user ak2sup suggests that we've already had some evidence of the reset in Infinity War.

If you cast your mind back to near the start of Infinity War, there's a sweet scene with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) as he tells her about a dream he had.

"Last night, I dreamt we had a kid. It was so real. We named him after your eccentric uncle, what was his name... Morgan," he explains, adding that he genuinely believed it was real even once he woke up.

Just a dream, right? Well maybe not.

Last year, after the release of Infinity War, Gwyneth Paltrow seemingly let slip a huge spoiler about the future of Tony and Pepper's relationship.

"Pepper and Tony have had a really long journey together. She obviously starts as his dutiful assistant, and then the relationship evolves, and now this decade later they're married, and they have a child," she explained.

That certainly didn't happen in Infinity War as their conversation is interrupted by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), with Tony soon finding himself on Titan battling Thanos and, eventually, adrift in space according to Endgame's first trailer.

But the theory argues that what Tony saw wasn't a dream, but a flashforward of the new timeline and an effect of a causal loop due to Endgame resetting the Snap.

"Causal loop is a paradox of time travel that occurs when a future event is the cause of a past event, which in turn is the cause of the future event," it outlines. "Both events then exist in spacetime, but their origin cannot be determined. A causal loop may involve an event, a person or object, or information."

And if you need a bit more evidence, the official synopsis for Endgame talks about the surviving Avengers having to "undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe", which sounds like a reset to us.

Marvel being Marvel, it's unlikely that the conversation was just put into Infinity War as a filler and will mean something in the future. Of course, it could be an emotional kicker if Tony ends up dying in Endgame and we'll always be left to wonder what could have been.

We want to be a bit more positive though and believe that it is actually a teaser of what will happen to Tony and Pepper post-Endgame. After all, it could be a nice way for him to leave the series, giving up on saving the world to raise a child instead.

Wouldn't that be sweet?
