Looking Back at the Stargate Franchise

here is an idea
for a moment say that the radio interview I remember is correct.
I am looking at the archive files at
Earthfiles – Reported and Edited by Linda Moulton Howe and can not find a thing...
and "December 21, 2016 Phoenix, Arizona - In 2007" gets me nothing useful from her website (yet I have the files archived)
but if you manage to find that, and it gets you something,
it has grand implications for this universe.
As you say, the file is not there. But even if it was, you have to pay for archived reports.

go look at the last post of the previous page of this thread.
the web pages are attached as a zipped file
it was all free when I downloaded it.

edit:
I am kind of surprised that it seems to be gone from her website when I search for it
just found out that if I click on "back to part 1" from the second page of my archive
it gets you back to her site with a valid link
but the entire report was free when it was first posted.

It's hard to believe this show has been off the air almost 12 years now. This was my favorite program when it was playing at that time. The few drawbacks were when Michael Shanks left the show thinking he was going to hit it big as an actor. That didn't happen and he was back a year later.

Towards the end of his stay, Richard Dean Anderson looked bored and you could tell he was phoning his acting in. Luckily for him, he owned a piece of the show, so he continued to pull in money without being there.

After Anderson left, it just wasn't quite the same with Ben Broder and also Beau Bridges replacing Don S. Davis.

It doesn't seem like its been that long, it was a great show to watch, very entertaining and many well written episodes...The last two seasons with the Ori were okay, they could have done without that and closed it after winning over the Milky Way galaxy from the Goa'uld, also didn't like they killed off the Asgard...Of course we find out later in Stargate Atlantis that there are a colony of Asgard living in the Pegasus galaxy but these Asgard are not very friendly...Stargate Atlantis was really good for a while, they went too much off the plot with the Michael story, the series final was mediocre, could have been much better...I thought Stargate Universe was awesome when it first started, really liked every episode, that series has so much potential that got wasted, it could have surpassed SG1 easily with great writing and story telling...

Actually having the humans who now control the Ori battle ships as allies, that extremely advanced technology can be used to eradicate the Wrath for good...The Wrath would not stand a chance against the power of the monstrous Ori ships...

The SGU complete series (I believe you said was only two seasons) is available on Amazon for $28.50 & SGA is $149.99.

I'm a firm believer that once you get to seven or eight years on a series, you have told most of the pertinent stories. Beyond that things begin to go stale and there is a tendency to repeat yourself. Stargate SG-1 simply went on too long.

The ratings were down but the producers wanted to drag it out until the bitter end. Even the straight to DVD movies were poor in my mind. That really tends to kill the series when you go on too long.

The trouble with many series is that they are not written initially with a fixed endpoint in mind. The producers are motivated by business, rather than artistic, reasons to keep them going for as long as they are making money, and then to abruptly cancel them when they stop making money. This leaves most without a satisfactory conclusion.

I recently watched the made for DVD movie "Stargate: Continuum", it was a clever story but too little too late, it was also tiring...

I really didn't like any of the movies. The regular TV shows were much better.

I liked the first one somewhat because Kirk Russell was in it lol, but yeah the tv shows were much better...Are you still watching Atlantis?...

Oh, I wasn't thinking about that. I meant the made for DVD /TV movies. The original Stargate movie was great.

I'm a third of the way into the second season of Atlantis. I'm still enjoying it.

Meh it had its slow parts but it was okay lol, but I like Kirk Russell movies anyway...

I liked the 3 episode cliffhanger "The Siege" and the buildup to that, it was well done...
