Looking Back at the Stargate Franchise

I liked the first one somewhat because Kirk Russell was in it lol, but yeah the tv shows were much better...Are you still watching Atlantis?...

...
I liked the concept of the movie, but the story was weak. The scene of the being just before the ship blew was interesting. That same type of being has popped up in other works as if programming a population to its likeness or creating a boogie man race. In the trivia of 'Fire in the Sky' on IMDb it said the aliens depicted had no resemblance to what Travis Walton described. There's obviously some group intentionally tweaking things.

Stargate the movie.

At 22:00 into the video David Wilcock talks about the stargates. The more ancient stargate system is similar to what was depicted in the movie Contact. It can make people schizophrenic and was meant for beings of a higher evolutionary level that can handle the psychological effects. The modern stargates we are familiar with are instantaneous. He said the gates would be located near on inside pyramids because that's what powered them.

I watched an old episode of MacGyver called 'The Legend of the Holy Rose Part 1 & 2'. They needed a ruby crystal to create a laser that opened a cave entrance. It looked nearly identical to what was depicted in an episode of Stargate SG-1 as a component of the dialing station. The way things work I wouldn't doubt if they were the same prop.

It's inside that gold orb. It was a 1989 episode.

The nearly identical object is under the center of the dialing station. Stargate SG-1 premiered on July 27, 1997 and the last episode was on March 13, 2007.

It blows my mind that anyone takes anything that guy has to say seriously: David Wilcock is a carnie shyster bilking people out of money by selling them delusions. Like an Al Bielek on amphetamines - the sheer volume of material that Wilcock comes up with would be impressive if it weren't all complete shit.

There were some cool episodes in the Stargate SG-1 series, like Point of View which was about a quantum mirror that served as a portal between alternate realities, and Window of Opportunity which was a hilarious twist on Groundhog Day - Jack O'Neill at his best.

The original film screwed up by taking the team through a portal to another inhabited world...which was exactly like ancient Egypt but with an alien overlord twist: nobody wanted to see some boring primitive human civilization halfway across the universe....we wanted to see something wondrous. What a let-down. Possibly an even bigger let-down than the alien in Contact showing up as Ellie's father.

I disagree with your view. If you read his book Ascension Mysteries you can tell he's been working on this for over forty years. It goes into depth of things that happened during his childhood proving to me that he's been molded to be able to handle this. He constantly gets horrendous hate mail and still he's standing tall and delivering information that the average person isn't willing to digest. There may be holes in some of his stories, but that would be the fault of the many insiders he's been in contact with feeding him bad intel to muddy the waters. He has to use test questions with whistleblowers to find out if the information matches other material he's already acquired. Give the guy some credit for having the fortitude to endure what he has.

Look, man - I don't want to go raining on anybody's choice of entertainment, but it's another matter entirely to actually believe to endless tsunamis of swill that this guy has been spouting for decades. He's basically just another Sean David Morton with even zanier claims, minus the fraud conviction (unfortunately it's not illegal to spout BS every day of your life to the credulous masses or to make heaping mounds of money on books that aren't worth the paper they're printed on).

It takes about 10 minutes of research to figure out that this guy is a relentless and absurd con artist of the utmost Pleiadian order. Everything he says is complete bilge, and I'm sure the same is true of any allegedly "biographical" material that he has to offer. It's all the most flagrantly ridiculous garbage imaginable. How anyone can read even the titles of his videos without snickering is completely beyond me.

Here's just a tiny taste of his long history of preposterous and totally failed predictions and claims and other blithering nonsense:

You said it right as far as I'm concerned and he's also a part of Corey Goode's blue chicken cult of schemes and cons which further assists in trapping potential new cult members to their ranks of followers...I've walked a spiritual path all my life, it is my life's work and David Wilcock is not a legitimate spiritual leader or guide by any means, he's a new agey conjurer of deceptions and lies for profit, nothing more...That's my take on him...

He doesn't make much money off his three books and he's certainly far from being rich. He said in the end it amounts to minimum wage. He also stated that there's an orchestrated attack on the arts where very few people are making anything. Sean is in prison and according to him he was set up to prevent a book he wrote from being published.

Let me get this straight. Sean David Morton is in the pen because someone is trying to prevent him from writing a book that 15 people will read (if that many).

He was playing games with the IRS. He said they didn't want a book he wrote published, but that could just be the reason he's using to make himself look better.
ufowatchdog.com: Sean David Morton Sentenced to Federal Prison
Today at 11AM (PST), a federal judge sentenced bogus psychic Sean David Morton to 72 months in federal prison for his part in a tax scheme in which he was found guilty of falsifying tax documents, filing false tax returns while victimizing people for tens of thousands of dollars in a straw-man redemption scheme, and defrauding the IRS out of nearly $500,000.00.

I watched Stargate the movie last night and noticed something interesting. After the bomb was activated there was a two second scene when the countdown timer was at 6:06 to 6:07 minutes. The 606 is the last three digits of Earth's stargate address. The group(s) that imbued tells into the movie knew the address. The number 605 is Mars and the 607 must imply there's a stargate on Venus.

I couldn't find the exact clip.

According to the show trivia the stargate was made of Naquadah which strangly anagrams to Aqua Hand. When it's activated it does look like water.
Stargate SG-1 (TV Series 1997–2007) - Trivia - IMDb
According to Carter (Amanda Tapping) in season six, the Stargate, made from Naquadah, weighed sixty-four thousand pounds (roughly twenty-nine metric tons). The primary on-set Stargate prop was made out of steel and fiberglass though, and was twenty-two feet (6.7 meters) in diameter. It was fully automated, and capable of rotating and emitting light. This was achieved by the use of a specially-designed twenty-two foot (6.7 meter) circular gear, which turned the inner ring on a precise pinion drive wheel, using an eight horsepower electric motor.

During the episode 'The Enemy Within' Kawalsky is infected with a Goa'uld. In the opening of the episode Carter said the iris is made of pure titanium and is three microns from the event horizon (1 inch=25,400 microns). It disallows matter from assembling. In the show trivia on IMDb it states the stargate is made of Naquadah (Aqua Hand).

I was watching a show on the National Geographic Channel the other day called 'The Secrets of the International Space Station'. They showed the crew's quarters and they have a small oculus/window that closes like the stargate iris. I wonder if the idea came from the stargate. I couldn't find the show on YT, but strangly there was a similar program with the same name that didn't match the one I saw.

Stargate Atlantis is 15 years old now...:ohmy8:

There's no shortage of 'Stargate' nostalgia on the spinoff's 15th anniversary

SALT LAKE CITY — “As a family we always had pizza night with the kids when ‘Atlantis’ was on,” said Lisa Denoncourt. “The show was a perfect balance of sci-fi, humor and lots of sarcasm. But most of all, we were bonding as a family over one of our favorite shows.”

Denoncourt is one of many fans who recently took to Twitter to share their favorite memories of “Stargate: Atlantis,” the beloved sci-fi hit that ran for five years and is celebrating its 15th anniversary.

The first of two spinoffs from “Stargate: SG-1,” the show transported viewers across the universe alongside their favorite characters.

“Imagine the lost city of Atlantis was real. Imagine you could step through a portal and get to it in seconds,” said actress Jewel Staite in an interview with the blog From the Desk of Kurt Manwaring. “But enemies abound in this new galaxy!”

“Oh yeah,” she said, “and the city can fly.”

According to the show's producer, Joe Mallozzi, “The Atlantis expedition was like extended family members you visited with once a week. It’s a grand tradition that made both ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Stargate’ so relatable.”

One of the essential ingredients in the show’s recipe for relatability was Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlett), a loquacious and irritating physicist with an aversion to dangerous situations he seemed to overcome on a weekly basis.

Hewlett was thrilled to reprise the character he played on “SG-1,” but discovered fans were initially less than enthused.

“When it was first announced that Rodney would be joining the new series, I went online and people were horrified,” said Hewlett. “What was great for me though, was that we had this guy established — as a crazy smart jerk — so now it was all about unraveling who he was and what made him that way.”

The least likeable character quickly grew into one of the most irreplaceable figures of the series.

But Hewlett almost wasn’t involved in the popular spinoff. According to Mallozzi, they were auditioning the role of Dr. Ingram, and they couldn't find the right actor. As their time dwindled, executive producer Robert Cooper suggested bringing Rodney McKay on board.

“And, in the end, he became a fan- and writers room-favorite,” he said.

Stargate Atlantis: 15 Years, 15 Great Episodes

As the show marks the anniversary of its 2004 premiere, GateWorld looks back on some of the best episodes in this remarkable series.

Happy Anniversary today to one of our favorite teams in science fiction!

Stargate Atlantis premiered 15 years ago today, as the 2-hour pilot movie “Rising” made its debut on SCI FI Channel in the United States. An eager fan base tuned in to meet a new group of adventurers, with an international expedition of scientists and military personnel sent through the Stargate to explore the distant Pegasus Galaxy.

With two shows on the air, Stargate was officially a franchise.

SGA ran for five seasons, totaling 100 episodes. In those years it saw a total of ten regular cast members, with Joe Flanigan leading the team as John Sheppard.

Each week during the show’s original run GateWorld conducted polls asking viewers to rate each episode. These are tallied up as the “Fan Rating” in GateWorld’s episode guide. So after 100 episodes, which ones rank at the top?

To celebrate today’s anniversary, here are the show’s 15 best episodes — ranked and rated by fans!
