I only clicked once on post reply. I don't know what happened, maybe the ghost didn't like what I am saying? I apologize for the triple post.

These old eyes of mine could not tell where it was coming out of, was it a garage? Then it looked to me that it went next door to the neighbors, is that correct?

You wouldn't happen to know how much a cloaking suit would cost, would you?

Yeah, it does seem rather strange for it to be holding a flashlight and even stranger for it to take the long way to where it was going when it could have just cut across if it was a ghost? Then again, ghosts do seem to be creatures of habit.
It appeared to come out of the garage, walk to the street then through the lot next door. I don't know how much the cloaking suits cost, but they wouldn't be available to the general public.

Ghost Ship Spotted in New Zealand

A beachgoer in New Zealand was left scratching her head when she spotted what appeared to be a ghost ship floating over the water. The wondrous scene was reportedly noticed by Monika Schaffner while visiting the community of Mount Maunganui last week. "It was like seeing something unreal," she marveled at the mesmerizing sight of a ship seemingly hovering in the air, "I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me." Schaffner was so flabbergasted by the inexplicable flying object that she pulled over to the side of the road to captured it on film.

While a ship floating over water would undoubtedly be a fantastic event, her initial reaction was, in fact, correct as Schaffter witnessed a phenomenon known as Fata Morgana. The natural optical illusion occurs when layers of warm air and cold air interact and cause a distorted reflection to observers watching from a distance. As was the case with Schaffter's 'ghost ship,' spooky effect has been the source of several similar strange sightings, usually of the 'ghost city' variety, that have made the news over the years.

Free Haunted House Available in Louisiana
By Tim Binnall

5eac837770b83e608239af72

After repeated attempts to sell the residence proved futile, the owners of a purportedly haunted house in Louisiana is now giving the home away for free! Realtor Sylvia McLain took to Facebook earlier this year with the unbelievable offer on the two-story, four-bedroom home in the community of Younsville. Although her post did not mention the site's spooky reputation, people responding to the announcement reportedly revealed that the house is seemingly home to the ghost of an old woman who frequently makes her presence felt.

Specifically, Dawn Vallot DeClout explained that she used to live in the home and believes that the spirit might be that of her great grandmother Adele. "She's not menacing at all," her relative wrote, revealing that the woman was a mere "4 feet, 9 inches and weighed about 100 pounds." According to Dawn, her great grandmother had a peculiar habit of "always digging in the pots, like when you have something on the stove and someone goes and looks in the pot and stirs it around."

And, following her passing, the woman's spirit seemingly continued the practice as "we used to hear her all the time jangling the pots when we had something on the stove. You could hear somebody picking up the lid but there was nobody in the kitchen." Meanwhile, other residents of the community chimed in on the Facebook post with their own spooky stories from staying in the home with one person claiming that "I experienced three things there that could not be explained and my friend that lived there had more than that."

While prospective homeowners with an appreciations for the paranormal may think that the prospect of getting a haunted house for free is quite the steal, the deal comes with something of a catch. That's because the owners are only giving away the residence itself and interested parties will have to physically move he building off of the property. The entire process of relocating the residence and subsequently refurbishing the site is estimated to cost approximately $80,000. And, of course, it's uncertain whether or not Adele would come along with the house once it has been moved.

This is kind of interesting. There is a orb story or whatever you would call it that acts very different from any that I have seen captured on video before. At first I thought it to be a spider web but, nope. lol

That clock at about 21 minutes is strange because the second hand isn't moving fast like the minute and hour hands, I always thought that all three were dependent upon one another internally in clocks and geared with each other physically, so if one hand moved fast they all did...

I don't think that's true but, I don't have one to test the theory. I used to repair watches when I was 19. That's 41 years ago so I am no longer positive but I am pretty sure the "seconds hand" stays stationary when you are setting the proper time. I am probably wrong. :)

Ghost of a Masturbating Monkey Haunts a British Estate (Really!)

Ghost stories in England are ten pence a dozen. Haunted buildings claiming to be “the most haunted in England” are almost as common. Stories of animal ghosts? Unless it’s a horse being ridden by another ghost or pulling a haunted carriage, those are pretty rare. And, except for the occasional succubus/incubus ghost seduction or the “I married a ghost” story, tales of ghostly sex acts are also unusual. Put those all together and you might get the story of an English estate claiming to be one of the country’s most haunted whose list of ghosts includes a masturbating monkey. Too unbelievable even for England? Try too true!

“The ghost of a randy monkey haunts the halls of a grand English country estate – where romantic spook-hunters flock to tie the knot. Titillated tourists can often hear the saucy spectre laughing while masturbating in Athelhampton Hall in Dorset, near Dorchester.”

AthelhamptonHouse-570x428.jpg

Athelhampton House

In these times of coronavirus lockdown, people lament vacations missed and dream of future excursions. Some apparently even wish to visit Athelhampton Hall, a still-beautiful 15th century estate in Dorset, near Dorchester. The first part of the manor was built in 1485 by Sir William Martyn (remember that name) and, although it has changed hands many times through the years, Athelhampton Hall still contains some of its original medieval furniture, Elizabethan carved panels, ornate ceilings, and Tudor period artwork. And ghosts.

“Athelhampton House was said to be haunted as far back as the 1850s and is considered among the most haunted houses in England.”

The “Unsolved Mysteries of the World” podcast found reports of a ghost of a woman roaming the halls with the obligatory (for England) name Grey Lady. A dark shadow seen by many is believed to be the ghost of a monk while the wine cellar is haunted by a wall-tapping ghost named Cooper. One-time sightings include a two-ghost sword-fighting duel waged in the Great Hall. That’s an impressive ghost total, probably making Athelhampton Hall worthy of inclusion on a list of most-haunted places in England, but these pale apparitions pale even further when compared to the estate’s most famous ghost — Martyn (told you the name would come back), the masturbating monkey.

“Sir William’s great hall is superb, with timbered roof, linenfold panelling, minstrels’ gallery and armorial glass in the windows, showing the family crest, a chained ape, which is believed to have been a family pet..”

The monkey ghost story has roots in real history. The Martyn family crest definitely shows a chained monkey and the family graveyard has at least one stone depiction of poor Martyn. The most popular version of the monkey’s demise is that a Martyn daughter (he had two daughters, both named Elizabeth) since William had only sons) was distraught over a broken love affair, locked herself in her room and took her own life – not realizing that the monkey who was also infatuated with her had followed her into the room. No one seemed to have noticed either one missing for days until both were found, with poor Martyn dead of starvation. A different version of the tale has Martyn being accidentally entombed in a wall and dying there. Martyn’s ghost has been reported seen by many swinging from the from the rafters, and heard by many more scratching on the walls. Most say Martyn appears to be a friendly ghost monkey. What’s missing from these stories and sightings?

St Mary’s church, Puddletown – the Athelhampton Chantry restoration

The masturbating part! No one seems to be quite sure where that came from. Perhaps the legend of scratching got misinterpreted from the walls to the primate’s privates. Or it was a way to show the ape’s infatuation with the girl. Or an attempt to explain why the monkey ghost is always in a good mood. Or it was just adding a common monkey behavior to an uncommon monkey ghost story. Whatever the case, it’s novel enough that it pops up frequently in English ghost collections and on ghost tours, especially and strangely those for honeymoons and romantic escapes, which is probably why it popped up recently on this writer’s feed.

Not that I’m planning a romantic visit to see the masturbating Martyn Monkey ghost anytime soon. And no, surprisingly, I don’t think The Masturbating Monkeys would be a good name for a band. Just an interesting ghost tale.

Ghostly face seen in tower window at St Joseph’s Orphanage

st-joseph-sface.jpg

A snap of an abandoned orphanage in Preston city centre appears to show a child’s face at a window.

Leonie Thomas was out walking with her son during Sunday (May 24) in Avenham Park when they decided to carry on to the former St Joseph’s Orphanage.

The site is fenced off, ahead of a major redevelopment scheme, but Leonie, from Pewnortham, said she had been reading up on the history of the building and wanted to get a few pictures.

The 33-year-old told Blog Preston: “We didn’t notice anything while we were out walking.

“It was only when I got back home and posted the pictures onto Facebook that one of my friends commented and said ‘what the f*** is that?’.

“I zoomed in and saw what could be a face in the window.

“Don’t get me wrong it could be a pigeon but I don’t recall seeing a pigeon when we were looking.”

Not sure if anyone is familiar with FrankoTV? I think he's pretty honest. He works by himself including camera placement. As a matter of fact I think he has issues being around lots of people so he does most of his explorations by himself. Not exclusively tho because I have seen one or two of his explorations where someone else tagged along. But, I do believe he tries to be sincere and does not purposely set up hoax's. I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. :D

This is a little long but, worth every second because it is so spooky. I even left a comment because it was really good.

And that's just part one. lol

Here's a simple ghost question for everybody. It's well known that ghosts can pass through walls. A possible explanation is that subtle matter can interpenetrate gross matter. But what keeps them from falling through the floor, or sinking into the ground? Are they also levitating themselves?

I guess so. Here's another question, if they can do all that then why do people post videos where they run in the house and lock the door. Then you here the ghost pounding on the door until it breaks open.

Why do they have to break down the door, can't they just pass through it?

Seems to me that if you're afraid of the ghost then you should jump into you're bed and hide under the blanket. Everybody knows that.

Blankets have been saving us from ghosts for centuries.

The haunted Cambs road where a murdered nun 'jumps out' at drivers
The area holds a dark and sinister history

Hinchingbrooke House is one of Cambridgeshire's most iconic buildings and steeped in history. But it also holds a dark and sinister past, one of love and violence.

Now part of Hinchingbrooke School’s sixth form college, the history of the building is responsible for one of the county's spookiest ghost stories - the murdered nun that jumps out at drivers.

The history of Hinchingbrooke House

The building originated as an 11th-century Benedictine convent. Legend goes that a nun, who once lived in Hinchingbrooke House, had a secret love-affair with a monk. But once the relationship was discovered, they were both executed.

Subsequently, the surrounding area is said to be haunted by the nun's spirit. The nearby bridge over Alconbury Brook, called ‘Nun’s Bridge’, is supposedly haunted by a nun, believed to be the same one that was murdered following her love affair. She steps out in front of oncoming cars, causing them to swerve out of the way.

Some have reported that the nun was accompanied by a ghost which resembles a nurse, whilst others claim to have seen three ghostly crashed cars that silently burn at night. Sightings were first reported by a couple in 1965, but subsequent reports have arisen since then.

The skeletons under the staircase

But whilst many are still dubious to the legitimacy of ghosts, the findings within Hinchingbrooke House itself are much harder to deny.

The skeletons of a man and a woman were discovered under a staircase in the house, believed to be from 994-1050AD. The female’s skeleton showed signs of being pregnant, so many believe that they are the remains of the nun and the monk who had the aforementioned love affair.

In the 1970s, Hinchingbrooke School’s curator told author and ghost hunter Andrew Green about the origins of the building.

The curator informed him of the multiple reports of seeing the ghost of a monk and a phantom dog. The school’s heritage advisor, Mr T.R. Wheeley, said that there were sightings of nuns both on and off the school grounds, as well as hearing sounds of children playing, whispering voices and footsteps when no children were about.

Other separate reports say that there is a cavalier who haunts the room in which he was killed, and a phantom woman who floats above the staircase.
