Reincarnation

The question is what happens to the one who stepped in front of the bus after his death.Any answer any would give would be from what they believe to be true or imagine or just not sure.
What if things that happen in our reality are allowed to happen for a purpose that is beyond our comprehension.
Could a harden heart be used to show those with non harden hearts some thing.

Anything is possible I suppose. If we had the answer it would likely take the knees out from under virtually all religion.

Maybe the price for sentience is an awareness of your own mortality and with that comes a need to believe. Seems to be a part of our internal wiring. These days we tend to couch it in scientific terms where for millennia simple belief sufficed. Still does for many. Some cultures accept reincarnation as fact and any suggestion it isn't would be considered unusual.

There are some truly odd cases of past life memories and those fascinate me. James Leininger in particular. I found this Skeptoid episode and short article if you're interested: The Boy Who Thought He Was Reincarnated

I'm normally a skeptical person but Brian Dunning is making a living from it and as a media content producer couldn't fail to come up with this assessment. He mentions a total lack of relevant education in psychology or any kind of therapy regarding some who wrote books on the topic - and he might be correct in that. But it applies to him too - I hadn't noted that he had any either. If we want to be truly skeptical and consider the source, Dunning was convicted of wire fraud about ten years ago and slapped with a prison sentence. I don't know how much, if any, of that he served but it financially ruined him.

My point is that his skepticism and critical thinking - something in short supply at times - is paying his bills. If he found Casper the Friendly Ghost in his underwear drawer - for real - he'd probably deny it for his own personal reasons. There is a lot of head scratching around that Leininger case and I don't think it can be so easily dismissed.

There is some scientific evidence that knowledge obtained even within single generation can be genetically passed onto your offsprings. Like reactions to food or presence of dangerous animals, like snakes. But I forgot where I read about it.

Then there is this spooky correlation which happens a lot in science, that several scientists discover the same thing at approximately the same time. The most famous example is Newton vs. Libitz and the discovery of calculus. It was already 17-th century, after some 5,000 years of human civilization and two guys sitting in their respective man caves came up with the same mathematical discovery. It's so strange that 5,000 years passed where nobody did anything and than two of them toght of it practically within a same year.

Same thing happened between Einstein and Lawrence. Lawrence worked on relativity for 10 years, only for Einstein to beat him to the punch by only 3 months. Again both used 50 years old Maxwell's equations and it's strange that nobody picked up on them for 50 years.

Lots of strange coincidences happen when men are thinking, as if there is a universal consciousness.

I think what is going on here is that if a change is to be made in our world, people are sent here to do it.
so you don't just get one person incarnating to invent something, you get a group of them.
some with fail, some will get it done.
I am pretty sure that my group failed.(including me), but would have been just as likely that 2 of us invented the same thing at the same time.

Interesting. Statistical coincidence can look mighty weird sometimes. I imagine that any number of people might have developed calculus, or some form of it, and just gone unrecorded. Maybe a scroll somewhere in the library at Alexandria that went up in smoke.

Genetic memory might just be a peek at the wheels and gears of evolution. Collective unconsciousness, some Akashic record, what have you , seems to provide some awfully specific information at times. So specific in the Leininger case you have to wonder.

You got it right on the money. Actually there is a great documentary on YouTube about evidence that suggested that Archimedes started working on calculus. They found some old Bibles in Izrael, and when they X-rayed them, they found that there was some mathematical text underneath. Mathematical text was about something that would be a root of calculus. From carbon dating of parchment etc. they think that it was most likely Archimedes wrote it. But we'll never know. Archimedes lived in Sicily, but it's know he traveled to Alexandria a lot to visit the library that you mentioned.

This is not the exact video documentary that I watched, about Archimedes almost discovering calculus, but it's very similar:

Ugh. If Reincarnation means that I have to return once again to shitty Planet Earth, I would just as soon skip it!
it is attachments and desire for experience that get people to come back here,
can you imagine a life that you would be happy with ?
if you are not drawn to any particular thing, and you like your personality like it is,
and still don't like the idea of coming back,
then there is a good chance that you will not end up coming back.

Thanks. Honestly, I just don't feel like I belong here on Planet Earth. This place just doesn't make sense to me, not that many people would say that it really does. I can't help but think there is a place where I really belong, likely in another plane of existence.

You recall a life away from earth. that world is home. do the best you can here. The lords of Karma will reward you.
Blessed be

I like half of the things in my life but hate the other half so I'm not 100% happy.

I believe I have had glimpses of that other life. I have a wife there there who is a couple of years older than me. There are some kids in the picture but I can't tell if they are ours, or hers from a previous marriage.

It is unlikely I would return.
After over 62 years of what I have seen and experienced I am almost to a point of hating the Earth Human species. Seems as though bad malicious people outnumber the good 5 to 1 at times.
After I am gone if anyone decides to do malicious activity on my former place will be in for a terror that will leave the Devil envious.

Hmmmm. At a certain point as we get older we wind up inheriting our relatives stuff. I wonder if anyone has been reincarnated and then came into possession of their old junk. Some s**t you just can't get rid of.

I was talking about evil and hate with a good friend of mine a few weeks ago. He believes hate as we know it really doesn't exist. Hate is just a misplaced symptom of fear. As our higher consciousness evolves, we gradually begin to see through the veil and understand that most people truly are good but they hide behind their hatred and anger as a defense mechanism.

I feel your pain. My maternal grandmother was an obsessive pack rat. When my parents were forced to put her in a home due to her progressive dementia, she left behind an entire barn full of junk. Okay, much of it was really out-and-out garbage.

When my wife’s parents died, the immediate family had to clean out their house in order to put it up for sale. This was a smaller house and we filled two dumpsters full of crap saved up for nearly fifty years. Almost all of it was junk.
