Area 51 - Sneak Peak @ Tikaboo Peak

The gubbermint should just gate off all the roads with barbed wire...that way no one could get in on any of the roads.

That makes too much sense. Instead, put up no barriers whatsoever along with the famous deadly force authorized signs that practically beg people to trespass. Then, when the trespassers show up (surprise! surprise!) spend million$ on surveillance equipment and camo dudes in gas guzzling 4wd trucks catch them.

That's why machine gun nests would help.

Just amazing how much they will spend on high tech gadgets and camo dudes when a simple fence with barbed wire on top would keep 99% of the trespassers out. Where I went to college, a very busy railroad ran right by campus. The railroad, police, and college officials were constantly wringing their hands in frustration over how many people would illegally cross the tracks instead of go out of their way to use a street crossing. Once again, a fence on both sides would eliminate nearly all of the problem because most people just aren't going to climb over a tall fence with barbed wire on top.

Don't worry there would still be plenty of idiotic nutcases who would climb the fence...especially if that is all there is for security.

Yes, but it would at least deter the lazy or unmotivated ones as well as those who don't intend to trespass but accidentally get on the wrong side of the semi-invisible line. You know, every military base I have ever seen has more fencing than A51 does. Often times I wonder if the open and inviting forbidden area with camo dudes and high tech surveillance was designed that way on purpose, to look like tempting forbidden fruit to Ufology. It has sure kept people from paying attention to other places!

If I could say just one thing to whoever is in charge of A51, it would be: "You know, every single thing you guys do increases awareness of the base and encourages people to come try to see it. Everything from the deadly force authorized signs, the M16 toting camo dudes, expanding the perimeter in the 90's, transporting employees on anonymous call sign Janet airliners, to refusing to even give a name to the base; you do understand that you are accomplishing the exact opposite of what it looks like you are trying to do, right?"

His mind would be irreparably blown.

Personally the lazy or unmotivated aren't going to make it out there in the first place.....and besides its the paranoiac nutcases that are distracting themselves......lol.

Yes a electric fence with barbed wire standing 10 feet high would solve their problems once and for all.
Probably cost related. Its cheaper with camo dudes roaming the land outside the base.
And previous years they couldnt have a fence cuz A 51 didnt exist.

There were military installations in that region going back to the 1940s...and in the 1950s it was best to stay away. You would have likely been blinded from Tikaboo Peak.

I'm assuming you are asking about why people would have likely to be blinded from Tikaboo Peak in the 1950s.

Atomic test detonations.....and the Tikaboo Valley wouldn't have been safe either since it was a conventional bombing range.

So it seems they are now saving people from themselves.....all they really need to do is shoot out the tires of offending vehicles and tell the people to walk back to Rachel. It would give someone to really worry about as opposed to the staged video that was posted earlier.
