Mulling Spices and their Magickal properties

Mulling spices can be used in wine or in cider to create delicious spiced drinks. They can even be used in a hot toddy.

This spiced “wassail” was used in southern England in medieval times during winter celebrations. They would sing and drink to the health of their apple trees to ensure a bountiful harvest the next year. At the end of their celebrations they would pour the last cup of mulled cider to the “Apple Tree Man” who lived in the oldest apple tree in the orchard.

With a little research and a bit of magic you can make a mulling spice that will help you to harvest your desires. Most basic recipes include the following ingredients. I have listed them here with their correspondences magically so you can brew up some magic.

Allspice: Success in love and money matters, banishing poverty consciousness, determination and healing Cinnamon Sticks: Good luck, attraction, money Dried orange peel: Health, success, happiness Whole cloves: Protection, love, money, healing, and strength

From here you can add a whole bunch of different herbs and sweeteners to customize your blend. Some of the common additives are:

Cardamom pods: Love and passion Dried Ginger: Love, money, success and power Star Anise: Joy, blessings, luck, and psychic awareness Whole nutmeg: Luck, money, health, fidelity, and psychic ability Peppercorns: Protection Vanilla bean: Love, lust, and power Lemon peel: Cleansing, love, friendship Maple sugar: Love, longevity, money, healing, and sweetness Brown sugar: Friendship and sweetness And my favorite, candied ginger: all the same things about dried ginger only sweeter!

Adding another layer to any mulled brew you want to make, think about your medium.

This Cider is made from gala apples use fresh! and try to harvest yourself!

Herbs used to make mulling spices are usually whole or crushed into smaller size. They are not ground to a powder or you will get gritty mulled drinks. A good rule of thumb for your mulling spices is about two tablespoons of spices to about a half gallon of cider or wine simmered on low for about a half hour. Don’t go over medium heat for wine, keep it on low. Put the spices in a tea strainer or muslin bag so you can remove them from the brew more easily. You can make your own blend of mulling spices to go with your intention, magically charging the herbs as you go. Spice blends also make great gifts for people who love mulled cider and mulled wine, packaged up in cute airtight bottles.

Winter solstice Spice Blend

When it is money and abundance that you need

This mulling spice will help you succeed

Don’t be greedy, it is only fair

When you have plenty there is more to share.

1/2 cup cinnamon sticks, broken into chips

1/4 cup whole cloves

1/4 cup allspice

1/4 cup dried orange peel

1/2 cup candied ginger chopped into pea sized chips.

3 tbsp. star anise

Charge each herb for abundant prosperity and to attract cash. Put the cinnamon sticks, allspice, and cloves in a salable plastic bag, cover with a towel, and whack it with your rolling pin or a mallet to break them down into chips. Do not powder! Mix all ingredients together and put into cute airtight bottles and give some away to friends.

To mull, put two tablespoons of the blend in a muslin bag or tea strainer. Put this in a half gallon of cider or wine and simmer for a half an hour over low heat.

From a ho chunk shaman who was give only weeks to live:
Death can come in any form.... I welcome her as well as her sister life, which is our connection to wisdom, where wisdom speaks softly in that final hour of completion.... Whether I walk upon the clouds or walk among the life that is here on my mother earth I am always in the view of that one, that I steward for.... My knowledge always grow when my relative death gets closer, my spark in life is the flame that grows brighter when the enlightenment of life comes in to view... The pray of the predator knows that it is a sacrifice for the life which welcome death, where the two may meet.....like the passing of my GRANDFATHER SUN and the rising of my GRANDMOTHER MOON they will recognize each other like the joining of two worlds in that very precious moment... I am humble which is my connection to all that i am related to, watchful of the signs that does not require my superior connection to my CREATOR which place me here to sing this harmony , and fill all hearts with understanding so they to can share and make one grow.....death is very welcome where ever i go, gives me balance , maturity, able to see and respect the flame that i see in all... Maybe if you open your eyes clearly you would see that death has made you the person you are today...so to know that , I myself have much gratitude.... These are my thoughts.... Walk in beauty.... “It was not witches who burned.
It was women.
Women who were seen as
Too beautiful
Too outspoken
Had too much water in the well (yes, seriously)
Who had a birthmark
Women who were too skilled with herbal medicine
Too loud
Too quiet
Too much red in her hair
Women who had a strong nature connection
Women who danced
Women who sung
or anything else, really.
Sisters testified and turned on each other when their babies were held under ice.
Children were tortured to confess their experiences with “witches” by being fake executed in ovens.
Women were held under water and if they float, they were guilty and executed.
If they sunk and drowned they were innocent.
Women were thrown off cliffs.
Women were put in deep holes in the ground.
The start of this madness was years of famine, war between religions and lots of fear. The churches said that witches, demons and the devil did exist and women were nothing but trouble. As we see even today, there is often a scapegoat created. Everything connected to a women became feared, especially her sexuality. It became labeled as dark and dangerous and was the core of the witch trials through out the world.
Why do I write this?
Because I think the usage of words are important, especially when we are doing the work to pull these murky, repressed and forgotten about stories to the surface. Because knowing our history is important when we are building the new world. When we are doing the healing work of our lineages and as women. To give the women who were slaughtered a voice, to give them redress and a chance of peace.
It was not witches who burned.
It was women"

Q: How can I see dragons?
A: Dragons no longer exist on the material plane and so can not be seen by the material eye, however the third eye is capable of seeing them.
Q: How do I open my third eye?
A: It is recommended that you open up all of your chakras and keep them all clean, not just your third eye. Your third eye, like all your other chakras, can be opened via meditation and proper visualization Techniques
Q: How long does learning Dragon Magic take?
A: That depends on who is learning. Some people may learn so quickly that they are very experienced within a month. Others, in spite of trying their hardest, could take years. And then there are some people who never even manage to comprehend the basics. It depends on how good you are morally, how quickly you learn, and perhaps most importantly how dedicated you are.
Q: How do I know when I’ve met my dragon?
A: It should be a gut feeling, like an instinct. When you meet a dragon for the first time and it is a dragon you are meant to bond with the first roots of the bond should take place quickly. Otherwise if the dragon you meet is your dragon you may know simply because it tells you so. I think how you know may vary from person to person, but usually it would most likely be a gut feeling or instinct.
Q: How can I find my element?
A: There are multiple ways for this. Some use the zodiac, that will be explained in a second post. Some use numerology which is usually inaccurate so I’m not about to waste my time on that. Some use the runes of their name, due to the vast variety of names I won’t be wasting time with that either. The most accurate way is to find out for yourself through good old trial and error. Try a few experiments involving the elements. Surround yourself in fire(CAREFULLY NOT TO BE BURNED!) and see how comfortable you feel. Then again with water, air, and earth. Find where you feel most at home and comfortable. Within your element it should be easy to meditate and you should feel energized. Also, try casting a few spells of an element’s type. Normally, spells of your element will work better for you then spells not of your element. Regardless of your element it is possible to specialize in all elements of magic.
Q: What is a fixed sign?
A: A ”fixed sign” is a sign from the astrological zodiac.
Q: What types of dragons are there?
A: There are two base types, actually, and that being the physical and the astral. The astral is what exists now. There are six main types of astral; spirit, fire, water, earth, air, and chaos. From them there are countless subtypes; energy, lava, ice, sand, wind, and light just to name a few. Of the physical there are four main types; prehistoric, marine, forest, and mountain. From them there are a number of subtypes and those subtypes are the dragons as the evolved, the dragons in-between being one or the other of the main types. For example; a forest dragon which also dwells in water may be a subtype in that it could be a forest-marine dragon.
Q: Can I create my own dragon?
A: You may be capable of creating a thoughtform or servitor in the figure/appearance of a dragon, however it is in no way a real dragon nor is it likely to ever become a real dragon of any kind.
Q: What is a dragon guide?
A: A dragon guide is any dragon that chooses to help you on your journey of learning through this life, similar to a spirit guide. Sometimes a dragon guide may fully substitute your spirit guides or even become one of your spirit guides according to what will be most beneficial to you over time.
Q: What is a dragon guardian?
A: A dragon guardian is any dragon that guards. Often this could be a dragon guarding it’s young, the young guarding the parents, or even your guide guarding you. In some cases it may be a friend or relative of your guide that chooses to help guard you, this would likely be most often when a friend or relative is more powerful and thus more capable then your guide is such as in the case of a mother dragon(relative of your guide) helping her baby dragon(your guide) with protecting you.
Q: Are dragons evil or violent?
A: Dragons are in absolutely no way evil nor violent. Yes, they were predators, and yes, they were powerful and potentially dangerous, but they were also very peaceful. Their fiery breath was only used as a last resort in a fight, otherwise most commonly only as an impressive display. Their talons and teeth were most commonly only used for hunting, as humans comparably scrawny to what a dragon would need humans were generally not on a dragon’s list of prey. Dragon’s did what they had to in order to survive and as one dragon once said, ”I only chewed in self defense.”
Q: What would be the most effective way to become experienced in Dragon Magic?
A: Basically the best way to become experienced is to simply gain experience. Research first, study carefully, then begin practicing hands on. Books are fine and dandy for information and getting you started, but nothing is going to get you as experienced as you can become as literally experiencing Dragon Magic will. This means that you must speak with dragons, meet with dragons, listen to dragons, etc.
Blessed be

death is very welcome where ever i go, gives me balance , maturity, able to see and respect the flame that i see in all.

An individual accepts Death when Life is truly experienced and lived, one cannot be without the other, the two together create a natural balance for all things in this physical realm...

I am an eclectic pagan witch. But I started out in Wicca way back when. I started my journey when I was 13. So 32 years ago.

I have found throughout my years of spell casting that the threefold law is false. First it's a mistranslated piece. An early incarnation of the Rule of Three appeared in Gerald Gardner’s novel, High Magic’s Aid, in the form of “Mark well, when thou receivest good, so equally art [thou] bound to return good threefold.”

This says to go out an give good times three when you receive good. This says nothing about some cosmic force giving you a specific numbers of blessings or curses based on your magical behavior.

Besides, I've been spell casting a variety of different kinds of spells for decades. I've never noticed anything bad happening to me over a curse, nor any added blessings when I do healing and protective rituals. So I've found over three decades of working that the threefold law is false.

So why would they include such a limiting thing? It's for control in my opinion. It's a fear tactic to control its adherents. So I left Wicca and started down the pagan path. There are no rules in Witchcraft. Just your own ethics and moral base which does not require religion.

When the time came he went to an meditation cave where his ancestors met death. He was half in the sprit realm already when he made the transition.
I look for him in the rain for that is where he is to be found.

I thank you for sharing your walk with us. It is my hope you continue to share the wisdom your walk gives you. Your walk is yours. I can not guide you only you can do that. You seek the divine in your own way. If you choose that WICCA is not the right path and the three fold law is a chain upon your heart , then who am I to stand between you and the divine? I like you am a pilgrim upon a road. and the way you choose to walk that road is your own.
