This is what happens when you feed wild animals.

I have watched a few of his videos in the past. His heart is in the right place but, what happens if he gets sick, or dies, or moves? All those animals are going to starve because they never learned to forage.
I wouldn't worry about racoons, they are smart and will find other places to feed. He is probably not the only place they are getting food.

The neighborhood my daughter lives in has a coyote and animal control will not do anything about it until it attacks a human. I has been attacking dogs and actually took a little dog from a little girl walking it. The only reason a coyote will get so bold is because humans are feeding it and it starts considering the dogs competition for food. So Do Not Feed Wild animals, it is dangerous.

When I lived in the mountains one of my neighbors, who had moved up there 20 years before when there were very few people, told a funny story about a young bear. He kept his garage door open and had a huge automatic feeder for his 4 hound dogs. The light went out in the garage and everyone used the door from the garage to the kitchen to get into the house. One night his son came in and said, "Dad, there is something wrong with that dog. It had it's head in the feed bowl and I tripped over it and it didn't even grunt." They took a flashlight out and found a yearling bear lying in front of the dogs feed bowl eating, oblivious of anything else. They decided to leave it alone. The next day he closed the garage door and put a dog door in it so the hounds could get in and out without leaving room for a bear.

That's why God created these:

What? If you look at the post I was quoting, you will see it was in reference to a coyote that has been attacking pets.

When I was about fifteen I was walking with two beautiful french girls, Marie and Beatrice, Marie was a tom boy sort and I really liked her, anyhow we were walking on a housing estate and up the road I saw what looked like a giant white rabbit standing side on, so to impress the girls I pointed out and went after it. It hopped down beside a car on to a property, down the side of the house and into the shadows. The girls were scared ( well one was ) so I did what any red blooded male would do and followed it into the darkness. In almost complete darkness and nearing the end of the side passage I was thumped in the chest and knocked backwards and automatically I carried on backing up until I was out again in the street light and stood looking into the darkness when it flew at me and put me on my back. I could hear the girls laughing hysterically and saw that it was a wallaby or small kangaroo.

Marie would have done a better job of it.

We have coyotes all over the place. They've never been a threat of any kind so I assume their food source is adequate. They do make a lot of noise at night. Foxes can let out some freaky noises.

I leave all creatures great and small alone with warm wishes but when something gets destructive to the house it dies instantly. Just the rules.

is that good or bad? can't tell

What part, the guy, or the animals/raccoons. I felt so sorry for the last one in the bin. It was obviously exhausted. I bet they were really thirsty because the guy did make mention of how hot it was. They probably struggled all night to get out. The first one to go was so glad to see the guy. He ran up to him and held his arms outstretched as if to say. "Pick me up." :D

Too early I guess - I mute the speakers when my wife is asleep. I thought they'd been living in there off the food waste.

I remember working in construction we used to crowd a few delis that were in the East Fishkill area when IBM built their huge semiconductor plant there in the 80s. Hundreds of people regularly eating out on picnic tables, in trucks etc in what had recently been undeveloped land. All the critters became dependent on the handouts and eventually suffered for it. A state trooper came by one day as I was munching my sandwich and he pointed out to some people near us they were feeding a coyote not a weird dog. I used to see one that came every morning to a restaurant to snatch a loaf of bread off the cart the bakery would leave.

Long winded explanation but I guess that video was bad after all - little critters lured in my human garbage and suffering much more directly from it. Thank God for good samaritans.

I heard a strange noise coming from a dumpster at work late one night. There was a small raccoon in there. I didn't want to pick it up, so I found some boards and made a ramp for the critter. It got the hell out of there. I never could figure out how it got in there.
