Following concerns about impending digital caste systems and enforced cybernetic behavioural control grids thought there was a really relevant vid below concerning the existing state of affairs in China.
Genuinely disturbing stuff and hopefully not coming to a city near you in the near future (although looks like the infrastructure is being put in place).
Don't know how folks feel about a forcefully imposed digital panopticon but there are some revealing interviews with Chinese residents and suppose warnings about the weaponization of data don't sound as outlandish as they did a few years ago.
Would be interested in opinions on the video as looks like this system of 'Mandatory Sesame Credits' not only allows for the extinction of privacy but also ensures punishment for those who do not mindlessly conform, unquestiningly obey or engage in critical thinking in any way,

What’s Your Social Credit Score?
The Chinese government has instituted a high-tech, data vacuuming social credit score system to continuously monitor the “trustworthiness” and obedience of its 1.4 billion citizens.
Each citizen will be tracked, rated, and rewarded or punished by the government with the help of its high tech corporate partners.
The lesson imparted really isn’t about the value of being a decent person of high character and moral values… instead, it’s about living in constant fear under constant tyrannical surveillance, being afraid of public scrutiny and shame, while sucking up to authority and the government.

"It certainly feels about as Orwellian as your nightmares would have it be,” Michael Fertik, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur told de Volkskrant. “It's exactly what any Command state would like to do with data.”
