Capitol attack suspect identified as Louis Farrakhan follower, Noah Green

Capitol car crash suspect called Farrakhan 'Jesus, the Messiah' in recent Facebook posts

Sources have identified the suspect in a deadly Capitol attack as Noah Green, a 25-year-old from Indiana with ties to Virginia and the Nation of Islam.

Green allegedly slammed his sedan into two police officers near the Capitol’s North Barricade, the entrance where congress members and their aides come and go. The attack killed U.S. Capitol Police Officer William "Billy" Evans and injured another officer, who was still hospitalized Friday evening in stable condition.

Sources told Fox News it appeared to be a "lone wolf" attack and that the suspect identified himself as a Nation of Islam follower on Facebook who may have recently lost his job. A Facebook profile matching that description has been taken down by the social media giant – but Fox News reviewed a number of posts and images before that happened.

Facebook said it was working with law enforcement and had taken down the profile under its "Dangerous Individuals and Organizations" policy. The page included photos and videos of Nation of Islam rallies, and the bio identified Green as "Follower of Farrakhan." And a recent profile photo appears to resemble the build and haircut of news camera video showing the suspect being loaded into an ambulance.

The most recent post was a YouTube video of a 2009 Louis Farrakhan speech titled, "The Crucifixion of Michael Jackson." In it, the Nation of Islam leader said Jesus was not the Messiah and called Christian theology a lie.

In one post from March 17, Green wrote complained of being unemployed and tough times amid the pandemic and said his religious beliefs were keeping him going.

He also praised Farrakhan, an outspoken anti-Semite, as "Jesus" and former NOI leader Elijah Muhammad as "the exalted Christ."

I think the less we know about this person the better. There is no need to make reprobates famous like the press usually does. And I remember two cases where in the 90's a bomber was identified as a middle easterner and both times it was a white male. They should at least get that right, but other wise we don't need to know who the person was, maybe why is good, but no other notoriety.

MLB requires photo ID to pick up tickets from Will Call, but boycotts Georgia for voter ID law

Major League Baseball responded to calls to boycott the state of Georgia over a controversial new voter-ID law by moving the All-Star game out of the Peach State. But teams still requires fans to show photo ID to pick up their tickets from the Will Call booth.

South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace called the league out on Twitter. "Hey @MLB, this you?" she wrote, along with a screenshot of the Will Call policy at mlb.com

The league did not respond to multiple requests for an explanation of its photo ID policy for ticket retrieval.

Tom Brady rookie card sells for record-breaking $2.25M

Tom Brady is known for breaking records and on Friday his rookie card sold for an unmatched $2.25 million.

The autographed 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket was a part of Lelands’ “Spring Classic 2021” collection. The opening bid was listed as $75,000 but 67 offers later and the anonymous buyer walked away with the item for a record-breaking $2.25 million.

"I wasn't shocked (by the price), but I was certainly surprised," Lelands president Mike Heffner told ESPN. "I know the market is headed upward, especially with rare and desirable cards such as that one, but I didn't really anticipate it. I had an inkling just feeling the performance of the other cards over the past month, it was certainly a possibility but these modern cards are definitely for real."

The card is one of only 100 ever made and was previously purchased on eBay over a decade ago where it remained in a private collection before being sold on Friday, according to the listing.

The rare item received an 8.5 grade and a 9 for the signature.

Friday’s sale broke the record for the most ever paid for a football card, breaking the previous record set in March -- when another rookie Brady card sold for $1.2 million.

James Park, CEO of Fitbit and a Brady fan, purchased the card.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A bomb squad was called to a popular Florida beach on Sunday after a “possible explosive training device” washed ashore.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy was on patrol near Lauderdale-by-the-Sea when they spotted a naval mine approximately 4 feet in diameter.

No evacuations were ordered, but a section of the beach was closed out of an abudance of caution.

Authorities said the word “INERT” was painted on the side of the device, meaning it could have been dummy mine used in training.

After authorities determined the mine was safe, it was hauled off the beach and turned over to the Air Force.

Officials have said those who come across suspected explosives should not interfere with them and contact the authorities.

Levar Burton is Twitter's nominee to host 'Jeopardy!'

Take a look, he could get booked.

Amid mixed reception for the latest crop of “Jeopardy!” guest hosts, Twitter is campaigning for one beloved celeb to succeed Alex Trebek as full-time MC — former “Reading Rainbow” host LeVar Burton.

“Leaving this here in the event that the powers that be are listening,” Burton, 64, tweeted Monday alongside a petition started by a fan of the beloved “Star Trek” actor. The document boasted over 130,000 signatures as of Tuesday morning.

The petition comes amid a feverish push on Twitter for the wholesome television icon to host the gameshow.

“Why is @levarburton still not the @Jeopardy host?” tweeted one enamored superfan of the Grammy winner.

Another wrote, “If you don’t let LeVar Burton guest host, I will… Set myself on fire! But seriously. This shouldn’t even be a question.”

“Levar Burton for everything,” gushed one LeVar lover.

Becoming “Jeopardy!” host would no doubt prove a major feather in the cap for Burton, who is best-known for his 23-year stint hosting children’s program “Reading Rainbow.”

The Emmy-winning actor and director also memorably played Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge in “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and Kunta Kinte in the groundbreaking ABC miniseries “Roots” (1977).

He’s one of a grab-bag of celebrities nominated to fill the shoes of Alex Trebek, after the long-time “Jeopardy!” host tragically passed away after a brave public battle against pancreatic cancer last year.

Notable guest MCs have included everyone from Greenbay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to television journalist Katie Couric and of course, Ken Jennings, the show’s winningest contestant.

Texas Gov. Abbott blames Biden as allegations emerge of sexual assault at child migrant facility

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott demanded that the White House close a San Antonio facility housing migrant children Wednesday following allegations that children there were being sexually assaulted.

During a Wednesday evening press conference, Abbott said he received tips that alleged the children at the Freeman Coliseum facility were being sexually abused and were not eating enough.

"These problems are a byproduct of President Biden’s open border policies and the lack of planning for the fallout for those disastrous policies," Abbott told reporters.

The governor said that separate complaints were sent to the Department of Health and Human Services and the Texas Department of Family and Protective services Wednesday, alleging four different kinds of child abuse.

The agencies then informed the state leadership.

Abbott said allegations of sexual assault, an insufficient number of staffers, children not eating, and an inability to separate COVID-19 positive children from virus-free children, were the most critical complaints the Texas government has received.

"In short, this facility is a health and safety nightmare. The Biden administration is now presiding over the abuse of children," Abbott told reporters, calling on the White House to immediately shut down the facility.

The governor called on the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers to immediately open an investigation into the allegations surrounding child abuse.

"The Biden administration caused this crisis and has repeatedly failed to address it," Abbott said. "The administration failed to plan for the influx of children that they invited to come. Now they face allegations of despicable child abuse and neglect."

Border Patrol: Two Men on Terror Watchlist Detained at Southern Border

U.S. Border Patrol agents detained two men on a federal terrorism watchlist who attempted to cross the southern border illegally, the agency said in a statement on Monday.

USBP detained the first suspect on January 29 and the second on March 30, while they attempted to cross into the U.S. near the Calexico border crossing in southern California. Both suspects are Yemeni nationals and are on the FBI’s terrorism watchlist and no-fly list. The suspects have since been transferred to federal custody.

“Part of the Border Patrol’s mission states we will protect the country from terrorists,” Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino said in a statement. “These apprehensions at our border illustrates the importance of our mission and how we can never stop being vigilant in our everyday mission to protect this great country.”

The latest announcement comes after the Border Patrol told Axios on March 16 that four men on the terrorism watchlist were detained between October 1, 2020 and March 2021. It was not immediately clear if the suspect detained on January 29 was included in the count provided to Axios.

Russia-Ukraine: US considering sending warships to Black Sea amid tensions - CNNPolitics

(CNN)The United States is considering sending warships into the Black Sea in the next few weeks in a show of support for Ukraine amid Russia's increased military presence on Ukraine's eastern border, a US defense official told CNN Thursday.

The US Navy routinely operates in the Black Sea, but a deployment of warships now would send a specific message to Moscow that the US is closely watching, the official said. The US is required to give 14 days notice of its intention to enter the Black Sea under a 1936 treaty giving Turkey control of the straits to enter the sea. It is unclear if a notice has yet been sent. The Defense official also said the Navy is continuing to fly reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace over the Black Sea to monitor Russian naval activity and any troops movements in Crimea.

On Wednesday, two US B-1 bombers conducted missions over the Aegean Sea.
Although the US does not see the amassing of Russian forces as posturing for an offensive action, the official told CNN that "if something changes we will be ready to respond." Their current assessment is that the Russians are conducting training and exercises and intelligence has not indicated military orders for further action, the official said, but noted that they are well-aware that could change at any time.

Top US national security officials call counterparts as Russia and Ukraine tensions rise

The Biden administration and the international community have expressed concerns about mounting tensions between Ukraine and Russia. In recent weeks, President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Tony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley and national security adviser Jake Sullivan have all spoken to their Ukrainian counterparts.

On Thursday White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Russia's actions are "deeply concerning."
"The United States is increasingly concerned by recently escalating Russian aggressions in eastern Ukraine, including Russia's movements on Ukraine's border. Russia now has more troops on the border of Ukraine than any time since 2014. Five Ukrainian soldiers have been killed this week alone. These are all deeply concerning signs," Psaki said.
She also said a review of the Russian government's actions will be concluded in "weeks, not months," and that new sanctions on Moscow would not be introduced this week.

The Pentagon and State Department have also expressed their concern about Russia's behavior in eastern Ukraine.
"We are concerned by recent escalating Russian aggressions in eastern Ukraine, including the credible reports that have been emanating about Russian troop movements on Ukraine's borders and occupied Crimea," State Department spokesperson Ned Price said this week.

"We have asked Russia for an explanation of these provocations, but most importantly what we have signaled directly with our Ukrainian partners is a message of reassurance," he said.
Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said this week that it was important "for all sides to comply with the Minsk Agreement" and "for the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of Ukraine to be respected by Russia."
On Thursday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw troops in order to de-escalate the situation, according to a spokesperson for the German government.
According to a Kremlin readout of the call, Putin accused Kyiv of "provocative actions."
CNN's Maegan Vazquez contributed to this report.
