Don't use the chainsaw much and knew the gas for it was old. Ancient, in fact. When I used it a couple of weeks ago it ran like crap but it's a big sucker and even at 50% throttle can still get 'er done. So I ran it dry and dumped the gas. Yesterday I refilled it with fresh gas. It's a 50:1 two-cycle mix. Still farted and popped and ran like crap and wouldn't run at full throttle. The dreaded E10 ethanol gas dilemma. Yup, it was stale and nasty and gummed up the works.

So here's the fix. Add about an ounce of Seafoam to the gas tank. Might've been inclined to add more but that's all the room there was for it. Fired it back up. Thirty seconds later it was running like new, 100% instant throttle. Another satisfied customer. Works on all gas, even two-cycle.

What is Seafoam? I was going to take my chainsaw apart because I need it. It hasn't been used in a couple of years. It actually looks identical to yours. I thought the spark plug needed changing but what you said about the gas makes sense.

Seafoam is a fuel treatment. I use it in place of Stabil for storage and any time I get a tank of stale gas. It really does a nice job of cleaning small carbs - and big ones too - right out. My brother was a heavy equipment mechanic and he was skeptical but now swears by the stuff. You can get it for less than $9 a can at Home Depot, more if you go to an auto parts store.

Just dump the gas in that saw and give it some fresh with an ounce or two of Seafoam in the tank. Wouldn't hurt to pull the plug and clean/gap it but I didn't have to. That Husqvarna 455 Rancher fired right up and runs like a scalded dog. I figured if I needed a chainsaw, which I did, best to get a real one.

Seafoam also has a combo fuel/oil treatment involving a spray/fogger. This has nothing to do with that. A half can for a 5 gallon gas can. I dump a full can in a 20 gallon tank on the old 'vette once in a while

Just finished mowing the property, usually takes about an hour...Getting a dandelion problem back near the garden, they are gaining a big foothold into my yard...So next time I'm at Lowes Home Improvement I'll get some dandelion spray...

Tagalongs! Don't forget the Tagalongs!
The only girlscout cookies I like are the thin mints and nowadays they are too expensive. I don't know any girl scouts any more. And if I donated to a girl scout troop I feel my money would go further for them if I just donate it directly than buying anything from them. They don't get even half of the price of the cookies.

Slept like a rock until after 10am this morning, considering I didn't get to bed until about 1am this morning though, I got at least 8hrs of good sleep lol...Today is the coldest day of the week, high around 64 degrees and the low tonight forecast to be about 38 degrees...One More cold day next week on Wednesday with forecast lows near freezing, once that possible last frost is out of the way I'll begin planting my garden...

I never bought girl scout cookies before, not much of a cookie eater lol...

My little one felt pride in the fact she sold 4 cases of cookies. Mostly at school. Her friends and teachers all bought from her.

The dreaded E10 ethanol gas dilemma. Yup, it was stale and nasty and gummed up the works.

Ethanol is the worst thing for small engines no matter if they are two stroke or four stroke engines...I know some states make it difficult to find pure ethanol free gasoline but if you can get it use it...Since I've been using 93 octane ethanol free gasoline in my mower and tiller and four stroke weed eater, I've had no fuel problems with those machines...

It is a good exercise for the girls to learn how to ask for things of strangers, or at least participate in a fund raiser. But still, they don't really get much money from the cookie sales, is it 50% or 25%? I can't remember.

We have one gas station chain that has a non ethanol pump so we can buy good gas for the lawn mower.

Okay, I am going to show my ignorance here. How do you create those yellow text boxes when you select a posters text that you wish to comment on? It has had me puzzled all this time.

Or, you can just click on the tiny Reply at the bottom right of the post you want to copy.

There are actually 3 ways you can do this...

The first one is like @JahaRa mentioned click the reply button on the post you want to quote as shown in this pic below...

Screenshot_20210415-155309.jpg

Secondly you can click the Quote button next to the reply button as shown in the next image below, then a new button shows up in your reply box as shown in the next image...An insert quotes button appears and after you click it the quoted material shows up in your text box, however this is used more for quoting more than one post...You can quote multiple posts at once with this option...

The third option is clicking this icon button on your text box as shown in the following image:

Screenshot_20210415-155533.jpg

Once you click that you'll get a drop down menu and choose the first option 'Quote as shown in this next image:

Screenshot_20210415-155602.jpg

Then you'll get the Quote text in your text box as shown below in the next image, just add whatever text you want between the set...
