How is The Coronavirus affecting your life?

Michael,

..Alternately, maybe it's just me and my life has been severely affected by the coronavirus..

Both yes and no.

A lot of people have been severely effected. So you are not alone; though it may feel that way at times.

I don't think people are trying to make money out of this. But point is reached where the economy gets into serious trouble and can't recover. That means that thousands will be out of work and can't support themselves. The machine will stop.

So, when there has been time for the vast majority to get inoculated, things have to start reopening. There will be a residue of people who wont get the jabs, that is their problem. And there will be some who can't get it. They will have to be careful.
But I disagree with all this 'my rights' stuff.
I have been fully inoculated. I can still catch the virus and pass it on. But it won't kill me. Anyone who catches it from me and hasn't been jabbed can die.
It is an inconvenience wearing a mask in shops or on transport. But that's all it is. And should I sneeze, even caused by ,say, dust, I wont be spraying viri all over the place.
It's all about protecting others from me.

We in the UK are still having an average of over 100 people per day dying. And we have over 80% inoculated.
Anything we can do to keep people out of hospital has to be a good thing.

It's everyone's moral duty to protect others where one can.

Whoever told you you can't die after being vaccinated lied to you. NBC Nightly news reported that out of 25,000 people who were fully vaccinated, 1400 died after contracting the variant.

Seems a rather high number. I'd need to find more data on it. I'll certainly look into it.

Anyway, I'm not claiming you can't die, rather the odds are very much in your favour that you won't.
Where as the chances that if you have not been inoculated you will die.

Yes! On entry!
The company I work for provides software for insurance providers and one department has created a database program at one of the client's request that keeps track of everyone who has been vaccinated. We have been asked to test the apps by entering our data. It is voluntary. It is called Certivax and you don't have to carry around you vaccination card. I suspect all doctors offices in the U.S. are going to be using it. I am hoping by the time it is rolled out we will have the virus in check and it will be like an annual flu shot, completely voluntary and no one else's business.

As Above So Below
Just to show I am being fair...

New Zealand woman dies after receiving Pfizer vaccine

But look at the figures carefully.

It's coming to a point where it won't matter if people are vaccinated or not, this campaign of mass vaccination of the population appears to be only facilitating this coronavirus to become deadlier...The new C.1.2. variant is evidence of that, it's possible the worse is yet to come for this pandemic...

Why anyone would comply with this obvious Plandemic is beyond words.
I’m not bowing down to the church of pharmaceutical mysticism.
Masks are nothing but a ritualistic shame muzzle.

Many stores and restaurants in our area require that you wear a mask still. The doctor’s offices make you wear one. To my way of seeing it, not much has changed since 2020.

And for good reason. The virus is still running rampant.

Can't see any of that around here. Very few masks, things seem to be operating normally. No one's running in the streets shouting 'festival'. There are 36 people total in the local hospitals out of 300K.

My big box employer mandated masks claiming 'we're family' and 'we want to protect out people'. Uh-huh.

Remember not long ago when they found a rope noose hanging in the only black NASCAR driver's work bay? Well, the shrieking and hair pulling went viral and we all had to admit to our inner inherent racism and shame. This company yanked all the goddamned rope off their shelves and will only sell it in sealed packages. Because you know, when you're out with the boys on a Friday night with your Confederate flag flapping in the breeze looking to have a good lynching a sealed plastic bag will prevent all that. Then they found out the rope noose had been hanging there for quite some time, possibly years and it had nothing to do with anything.

My employer's mask mandate is a similar knee-jerk PC reaction. Please tell me how 1 out of every 100 people wearing a mask - half the time improperly - is actually doing anything. But they can SAY they did something and that's what it's about. Maybe we should also boil water, tear sheets into strips and put on coffee. Ain't that the stuff we usually are told to do to make it feel like we've done something?

All businesses here still have the plastic window dividers up and all employees have to wear masks. You have to wear a mask on transit or taxi rides and in hospital or doctor waiting rooms. Otherwise, every other guideline has been cancelled.

Got to agree.

There seems to be a complacency setting in.

But do remember that the numbers are still high and going up in many places. The virus has not gone away and is still killing over 100 people per day here in the UK.
It's no big deal to wear a mask in public places. Why take the risk ?

We still have to wear on on public transport. And in the doctors. I have no problem with this.

Most of the businesses I have been in lately have signs on the doors saying all customers must wear masks. All the employees are wearing masks. We had a surge of the Delta variant the end of July that surpassed our worst month last year so all mandates are back, including limits on number of customers. Our hospitals are still over the limit with covid patients.

I am not aware of the numbers, but in the past 8 hours I have heard ambulance sirens 12 separate times.
