There's a saying, 'Show me the elephant the blind man has seen, and only then will I believe that you have really seen a fly'...I would say, a soap bubble that lasts a long time is a sure indication of objective reasoning, more so than in the wiseacrings of a self-proclaimed expert...

In the light of a candle, a reflection of the one who is and once was and will be, in the light of the sun the courageous one stands at the threshold of infinity looking through the eyes of the real, which means certain death before the first breath, but in the light of the moon the actor will take the stage, and at sunrise the jacket comes off, the real is revealed...

Coming and goings...So multiplied are the means, but in reality with little to no true variety, except in the random degrees of obscurity and choices stemming from a false view of what's in one's own best interest...

A fraction of an inch to the right:

Wait a minute...I think I’m real but you are not...You want to trick me...

A fraction of an inch to the left:

What’s going on?...Are you awake?...Of course I am awake...I remember where we are...

Some may say, whilst intellectual functions are in progress other functions should be silent, yet more often than not those other functions are most essential to complete the task at hand, and sometimes in very subtle but very direct ways…

Its really not a matter of having a belief in this or in that but that of the 'work' involved...One must 'be' in order to 'do' anything real, its a living work, a breathing work, as there can be only one I, then that first breath, an inhale and exhale and the sweetness tasted...

If an individual shies away from difficult work do you think that same individual would accept any easy work?...Both types of 'work' come with a price and a reward, for one the price is paid as you go and the other is 'collected' later, the reward depends on the price paid and not by the choice made...Don't be confused, there is no choice, there never was...

The world of 'things within itself' is quite unaware of our own depths which exercises and expresses rhythm and harmony of our inner freedom, a freedom that is not without restraint, however no bindings can reach it from the outside...

If someone requires a spiritual guide for decades then that individual isn't doing something right or just doesn't get it...This isn't the right work for you if you require a guide to hold your hand your entire life, at some point you must stand on your own two feet unassisted by others or you're just wasting your time...

with only your text and my personal experience,
for a long time I did not understand this.
would have been handy if I would have been given the message that I had to learn things on my own.
I think the confusion for most people is being dropped with no message.
or at least that was the case for me
what do you learn from no message when there was one there every moment for years ?
I thought the connection just failed to work,
figured it was my job to fix it,
wasted many years on that.
hanging up on someone is not the same thing as telling someone good bye and ending the call.
ones on the other side clearly don't see things as we do here.
but if we are still learning these things, it means that the other side is not getting it, or this contact is quite new.
either seems odd to me.
so I think there is something more going on here than I seem to be able to find.

Gulping down one experience after experience without even bothering to 'look' at what one is shoveling down, then how does one know if he or she has really lived each one of those experiences?...Were you really there and present throughout each one or did you slip out for a cigarette?...Easy way to get indigestion or heartburn if the latter...

Could a spark from a great flame become a flame itself and perhaps a great flame?...If we are part of a greater entity, differing sparks of life, countless incarnation cycles, could one of those 'sparks' or incarnations, through meticulous work and conscious effort ignite itself, a spark becoming a flame, thereby freeing itself from the great flame since having become a sustainable flame unto itself?...

then how does one know if he or she has really lived each one of those experiences?.

The estimate from the body shop tells the story. Maybe the body & mind shop in this case :)

A similar sentiment expressed differently - I didn't go through all this and come away with nothing. Learning is where you find it.

Two monks and a Woman — Zen story

1*beIKr8iI6jA47psHRSZX6w.jpeg

A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.

The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.

Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his journey.

The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them.

Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk could contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”

The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”

This simple Zen story has a beautiful message about living in the present moment. How often do we carry around past hurts, holding onto resentments when the only person we are really hurting is ourselves.

We all go through times in life when other people say things or behave in a way that is hurtful towards us. We can chose to ruminate over past actions or events, but it will ultimately weigh us down and sap our energy.

Instead we can choose to let go of what doesn’t serve us anymore and concentrate on the present moment. Until we can find a level of peace and happiness in the present circumstances of our lives, we will never be content, because ‘now’ is all we will ever have.
