I never connected with why people hate Jews? Can somebody illuminate me on the subject?
In general, at least to me, people are individuals and their nationality tells me almost nothing about themselves.

Being Jewish covers a lot of territory with all sorts of interpretations. Not strictly a religion or nationality, but can be. Like any group it isn't homogeneous. To be as polite as possible, there are certain sects that can be very, very difficult to deal with and would be easy to single out for special attention. I imagine they are the ones the stereotype was drawn from.
