WTF ?

Thought this might be an interesting thread. Weird stuff, not sensational but enough to scratch your head and say.... wtf?

Heavy downpours and now the driveway floodlight doesn't work. 5 month old fixture. Figured to turn it off and let it dry out and it would be fine, and it was after a day or two. Except the light only stayed on for a minute. Not helpful when you're taking the dog out.

The motion detector unit has a setting for how long it stays on once activated; 1, 5 or 10 minutes. It was set to 1 minute. Was at 5 all along and nobody's been 10 feet up in the air on the side of the house to change it. Works fine when I got the ladder out and set it back to 5 minutes. A physical slide switch.

So - WTF?

This is how I found it yesterday

My money's on it being cheap Chinese junk and yeah, most logical answer is that it was set that way all along but working differently. This is something I notice. There is an identical light 15 feet in the air in the back of the house. When I take my dog out back at 3:15 or so every morning they both trip as I walk past. We're always back within the 5 minute time out, but occasionally not. Both lights go out at about the same time, within a minute of one another.

My skeptical bet is that it has been set to 1 minute all along but for whatever reason is working at the 5 minute mark. Consistently. Cheap Chinese crap vs someone got up there and changed it. Answer is, cheap Chinese crap.

But it IS weird ..........

I think this is an excellent idea for a thread. Lot's of little things like that happen — little "glitches in the Matrix" that have no mundane explanation, but are rather inconsequential, so we write them off in some way or another.

One of the oddest that happened to me was when I woke-up one morning to find that my blankets were layered in a different order than when I went to sleep the night before. The only way for that to happen is to remove all the blankets, re-layer them, and tuck them all in again, which would involve physically lifting the ends of the mattress.

I forgot about that stupid light. Indeed, WTF? Someone come and Batman-walk up the side of my house to flip a switch? If it is a glitch, why tiny little stuff like that?

Somewhere here in this forum, I forget where, a couple of years ago I had a pair of eyeglasses go missing for three days. I've been wearing glasses since I was nine years old and the next pair I lose will be my first. I sit in my den at a desk with my PC and up against the wall behind me is a small drop leaf table and two short two drawer filing cabinets, one of which is in a corner. Put my glasses on my desk as I always do and when I got out of the shower a bit later they were gone. My wife and I tossed the joint - ripped it apart. No luck. In doing so I had completely cleared the top of the filing cabinet in the corner. Three days later I walked into the room and there they were just sitting right there on the cabinet right out in the open being totally obvious, except they were covered in dust like they'd been sitting for years.

Maybe in some strange way they had been. I love stuff like this and sort of fear it too a little bit. I am paying attention.

This is when I bought my first Wyze camera - trained it on that cabinet for a year and that produced squat. .

Some suggest that these types of events are connected to the Mandela Effect.

Not long ago I experienced a series of odd sensations in the middle of the night — as if I was being scanned by some invisible energy beam.

I know — I know, you're thinking some sort of sleep related tactile hallucination.
Others call it signs of a "spiritual awakening".
I'm thinking maybe it was more to do with smart meters and cell towers.

Recently I had a variation on the experience where I woke-up and had the distinct impression that there was some dark thing hovering just to the left of the bed in the corner of the room watching me. So i laid perfectly still — wide awake, studying the experience, when whatever it was suddenly seemed to move down and through me diagonally and out of the room like some sort of shadow spirit thing.

Do you think it was us or them?

Mine is similar. Theirs is something dark & hovering, except, I don't have to be in bed, I can be anywhere in my home and here's the really different part, as the dark thing starts to move toward me it gets stopped dead in it's tracks, then, the top of my glasses start to glow. The glow continues to spread throughout the room. I look everywhere, but there is no source for this light. I think it's my best friend, who passed away in 2017 keeping me safe.

You guy's do it all the time. you say you'll set up a camera and then never get back to us. I did it once with postal reimbursement that I still owe you, but you and Nivek are the worst!

The whole exterior of the house and my garage is wired for cameras and floodlights. Other than that issue with my eyeglasses I don't want cameras inside and I figure those nogoodnik house tigers we have can earn their keep by detecting paranormal activity.

There has been absolutely nothing to report, sorry.
