Wars & Rumours of Wars

They are just venting their frustration. It will be at least 10, much better 20, years before China will be ready to attack Taiwan. But if they wait that long they can take it without a sweat.

Watching that video above I was amazed how aggressive Chine is policing his own citizens outside China. And even hearing about 800 cases of industrial espionage. China is really pushing the limits and you don't hear anything about that in papers.
According to this video analysis, the peak of China's capability to attack Taiwan will occur in the 2020s, with one cited analysis putting it specifically in 2027, due to demographic and economic trends, and will begin to decline thereafter:

Similar reasons have possibly influenced Putin to attack Ukraine, as his population is not getting any younger, and Russia would have faced an uphill struggle in maintaining a large military and the industry required to equip it. Therefore, if Russia was going to launch an offensive military operation against Ukraine, the sooner, the better, was likely Putin's thinking. Russia's capability in that regard was only declining. The demographic factors are likely going to influence both sides' ability to sustain the intensity of the conflict over the long term, as those people being lost in it are not being replaced by younger people.

Russia is reported to have abducted tens of thousands of Ukrainian children, to have them forcibly adopted by Russian families, perhaps attempting to mitigate its own demographic implosion, at the expense of Ukraine.

Chinese are a bit obsessive. From business point of view why do they even care weather Taiwan is in China or not. There is a huge amount of trade going between China and Taiwan, so China gets all the possible benefit from Taiwanese capital, knowledge etc. They even speak the same language. If war breaks out all the precious Taiwanese high-tech industry will be destroyed, so China stands to actually loose access to it.

Another thing Taiwan strait is no La Manche. Its more then 100 miles wide and there are only very few low sloping beaches on Taiwanese shore, that are already well known and protected etc. Even in 10-20 years China would face debilitating losses if it tried it.

That's just conspiracy theory circulating in the media, like overthinking all the clever stuff. Like lazy journalists coming up with conspiracy theories, instead of doing proper hard factual research. Politicians are completely down to earth people, they only react to immediate problems. Demographics is far too far over the horizon for him to worry about.

Putin is well aware of the limitations and threats he's facing with, like inferior and poorly untrained military etc. Even Russians themselves admit that they can't afford to train their pilots properly. There were already 3-4 wars in which Russia was involved in the last 20 years for Putin to be aware of all the shortcomings with his military.

For those who want to listen Putin said many times that simply he doesn't want hyper-sonic missiles on Ukrainian border, 5 minutes flight time from Moscow and Kremlin. Additionally, various other missile systems placed in Ukraine would be able to practically neutralise Russian nuclear attack on EU as soon as its launched. From US & EU perspective that would be just short of brilliant. If one puts himself in Putin shoes, he would fail in his duty as a president of country if he didn't do something about it.

Obviously US & EU were playing naive about all this missile stuff, because it suits them fine to give weapons to Ukrainians and let them do the fighting and dying part.

New Hong Kong textbooks ‘will claim city never was a British colony’

New Hong Kong textbooks will teach students that the city was never a British colony, after an overhaul of a school subject that authorities have blamed for driving the pro-democracy protests.

According to local reports, the new texts will teach students that the Chinese government didn’t recognise the treaties that ceded the city to Britain after the opium wars. They ended in 1997 when Britain returned Hong Kong to Chinese control, and therefore the texts claim Hong Kong was never a British colony.

The new books also adopt Beijing’s narrative that the 2019 protest movement was driven by “external forces”, South China Morning Post reported.

The four sets of textbooks for Hong Kong’s liberal studies subject were released online last week, for schools to choose materials for the new academic year in September. They are set to be used by fourth form students in “citizenship and social development” classes, which replaced the liberal studies course designed in 2009 to teach students critical thinking. In 2020 the liberal studies course was attacked by pro-Beijing authorities who blamed it for driving youth towards protests and pledged rectification.

The chief executive, Carrie Lam, said students needed protection from being “poisoned” and fed “false and biased information”.

A subsequent overhaul of the education system included an increased focus on national security and patriotism, with teachers encouraged to report students who breached the national security law.

“It is necessary for schools to teach students to think positively and to love their nation,” the head of Hong Kong’s education department said on Monday.

China is neither first nor last country who brainwashed itself by its own nationalism.

Its really strange that in this age with so many means of communication, we still barely listen to each other. I guess there will never be enough time in this world to understand everybody's point of view.

Anyways, this is what resolves problems with poor communication. Check out this marvel of German engineering, they built a new tank completely from scratch with all the latest technologies. There is nothing similar in the whole world:

Russia calls its two captured American fighters 'mercenaries' and parade them on TV: Terrified-looking veterans are made to speak in Russian as their families beg Biden to save them from Putin's firing squad

Screenshot_20220617-225551.jpg

Russian forces released video of the two Americans who went missing last week while fighting Kremlin forces in the Ukraine. The video, uploaded to Twitter on Friday, shows terrified U.S. Army veteran Alexander Drueke, 39, and Marine Andy Huynh, 27, in custody as they identify themselves and are forced to speak in Russian. 'My name is Alexander Drueke, I am against war,' Drueke said. He then reiterates in Russian, 'Ya protiv voyny,' meaning I am against war. 'Ya protiv voyny,' Huynh repeats after a quick cut. Another video shows Drueke addressing his mother, Bunny, as he promises her that he will be back home. 'Mom, I just wanted to let you know that I'm alive, and I hope to be back home as soon as I can,' Drueke said. 'Love you.' The disturbing videos comes a day after a photo of the pair emerged yesterday of them in the back of a Russian military truck with their hands behind their backs, suggesting that they were tied up when they were captured by Russians who ambushed their platoon on June 9.

I been to Kenosha several times but not since the riots. My niece lives there. I think that's really Ukraine but who the hell knows. Pic isn't sharp enough to read the signage.

The signage says "#KENOSHASTRONG".

not talking about that. was looking at the road sign and truck in the background. the streetlights are reminiscent of Kenosha's downtown. They have a Civil War museum I've been to. And a couple of good burger & beer joints.

I did a reverse image search

I also performed a reverse image search before posting...I originally found that particular image on Twitter and did not believe it to be an image of Kenosha at first sight...

Now Russia threatens POLAND: Putin claims to have 'killed 80 Polish fighters' in east Ukraine and removes flag from memorial to WW2 Poles killed by Soviet Union amid fresh tensions mount over Kaliningrad enclave

Tensions between Russia and NATO member Poland have been cranking up to boiling point in recent days amid Russian claims that it has killed 'up to 80 Polish mercenaries' in missile strikes. The reported losses come on the same day that Russia confirmed it has removed a Polish flag from a memorial commemorating the murder of thousands of Poles by the Soviet Union in 1940. To the north, Moscow has been furious over Lithuania's blocking of EU-sanctioned goods from reaching the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, sandwiched between the Baltic state and Poland.

Excellent, looking forward to that nuclear war, we are going to have toasty weather all year around, not just in summer.

And that's good ... because nobody will need gas from Putin.

Look, maybe the religious nuts are right - Always talking about the 'end times' and now convincing the Supreme Court
to end what they call baby killings - Let them have their way.

Women don't need the right to choose - In fact women and men don't need any rights if Civilization is toast.

And Putin can have his Soviet Empire back - Bound to be a few people left after the nukes and the rest can live
underground.

I wonder if the insects {known survivalists in adverse conditions} will breed fast and evolve back into dinosaurs?
