First unexplained mystery to leave an impression on you?

The first unexplained mystery I can remember reading that really effected me was the 1880 disappearance of David Lang. I think I was about 12 or 13 when I read about it in the first volume of The People's Almanac. Even though subsequent investigations have poked numerous holes in the story, it still creeps me out.

Very odd , never heard of this one. I have read of people disappearing right in front of others . I wonder where they go to or is it just a glitch in the world construct matrix that we are observing at these times ?

There's a lot of interesting videos on YouTube about disappearances and possible matrix glitches. Oddly, I've noticed a lot of those stories seem to occur when people are making long car trips alone.

For some reason a lot of stories take place in the UK, especially Liverpool. Maybe there's something weird going on there, or maybe the Brits just have fantastic imaginations.

The one I remember was similar the man was just about to leave on a long trip and as he walked out the front door and onto the road he just disappeared. Well no one ever saw him again and there were several witnesses to the event so it doesn't really sound like a case for over active imaginations to me.

Shadow creatures are the first paranormal or unexplained phenomena that I remember seeing...Although I saw a UFO rising out from behind some trees and flying away when I was in middle school, I first started seeing shadow creatures when I was around 7 or 8 years old...I used to see them come in our house from outdoors, they run through the walls and doors...

When I first remember seeing them they were short things, like 2 foot tall, some thin, some fatter, they walked or ran on two legs...They would come in from outdoors especially in the afternoon and evenings, not every day, more random, some of them would take notice of me watching them...I could see their heads turn and look at me sometimes...I wasn't afraid of them but wondered what they were...I asked my mom about them back then but she said she didn't see anything and I had quite an imagination lol...

Not like that and not very often...I'm not living in the same area I was when a kid, I don't know if that makes a difference or not...

It had to be Bigfoot, When i was 10 i guess(1978), my parents and a bunch of uncles and aunts and cousins were camping out at little river state park at Lake Thunderbird.us kids were around the fire having a good time and some of the adults were drinking, when something keep throwing pebbles at us and we seen that something was in the bushes that looked like a person, thinkin it was a family member tricking us, 2 of the bigger uncles went over into the brush with flashlights,but soon we heard them yell in fright and they came running out whiter than ghost. they couldn1`t hardly speak, everyone got in the cars and we left everything there, the 6 brothers(uncles) went back (one had a 10g)the next morning to retrieve all the stuff,and they found huge foot prints.

I know so many people who say they've seen large strange creatures (sometimes near city limits) that it really makes me wonder. I think there must be creatures capable of shifting over here from other dimensions or something.

i saw my dead grandpa just after a year he passed i.e 29 th of december ,i was studying late it was about 11 p.m. and i was going to kitchen to grab something to eat ,i saw him standing there ,he said that its very dark where he lives so he wanted us to give him a torch i was 12 that time but it was not my first supernatural encounter ,the next morning i told my brother about this weird dream of mine ,no one took me seriously ofcourse expect dad he bought a torch and left it at his grave and then we returned home the next time we went to see him was about 2 months later so no one knew what happened to the torch. maybe someone took it .
this however was not my first encounter but i vaguelyremember anything else all hazy memories.
