I watched Justice League for the first time yesterday and wrote a short review of it for imdb.com. I rated it 7 out of 10. That means I thought it was good, though not great.
I liked many things about the film, including the battle scenes. I regard the CGI as acceptable. But though I liked most of the characters, unlike you I didn't like the Flash. To me, he was depicted as dysfunctional. Possibly I am biased as I am a fan of The Flash TV show.
Anyway, I don't think it deserves the hate it's gotten.

That may very well be the deciding factor, wwkirk. I've never seen The Flash TV show.
I was going to watch it again last night, but I got tired. I'll probably watch it tonight. Someone else that I know felt the same way about Flash's character as you did.
As a side note, have you seen this movies yet? The movie Flash character is in it. It seems to be receiving quite a bit of hate too.

I needed a break from my woes. the twins off on dates we settled in for a night with our kids. Angry birds provided the fun break I needed. it's fun and witty. the jokes and situations put me in a good mood. not bad for a movie based on a phone app.

I love Robin Hood. The stories are rich and fun. I took Kate and her date Angie to see the new Robin Hood. This is a strange movie. It is over the top filled with camp. I felt like I was watching my husbands old Batman DvDs. It was overly political. At times I expected the name of the sheriff of Nottingham's name to be Trump. I was not found of the acting. Jamie Foxx dialed in his role as Peiett.
Eve Hewston had the opportunity to make maid Marion a strong hero but she ended up as a typical Damsel in distress. Robin hood stole from the rich and gave to the poor. He also stole two hours I will never get back. If you want a good Robin Hood adaption find the old Robin of Sherwood. You will be glad you did.

I haven't had much time to watch any movies between school and interning... but over Thanksgiving break I watched "Hold The Dark" on Netflix. I watched the trailer for it about a month ago and it caught my attention, I just didn't have the time, so I queued it. A friend of mine told me he thought it was horrible and that they didn't explain a lot of things, but after watching it once and thinking back to things that happened or were said throughout the movie, things began to click in my head, and it made sense.
What I didn't know going into it was that it's based on a novel of the same name, published in either 2014 or 2015. The author has been made aware of a lot of the hate thrown at the movie, and has come to it's defense.
In my opinion, it's a very intriguing movie and concept, there are definitely a few good actors in it, and while it probably could have been done better (apparently they removed a scene that explains something I found confusing initially) I think it was worth watching. There is a lot of symbolism in the movie, and while a lot of reviews I read for the movie found some of it weird, I think it was an interesting concept for a novel, and that the movie adaptation was done well enough.

Interestingly, Bronson was an established actor before this movie, but he may be remembered mostly for the Death Wish franchise.

Bronson had fourteen siblings. In 1943 he was drafted into the military. It was the best thing that ever happen to him because he had plenty to eat and clean clothes. I thought Dirty Dozen was one of his best works.

this movie may not be perfect or 100% accurate. but its spot on! I enjoyed it greatly Debbie and Brian loved it as well! Freddy Mercury lives! perfect casting Awesome writing. The lead was 100% believable!

It’s hard to imagine that a sci-fi movie featuring one of my all-time favorite actresses (Natalie Portman) and written and directed by the creator of Ex Machina (which was very good, if strangely modest in scale), could turn out to be so disappointing.
Annihilation aspires to the genre of “philosophically provocative science fiction,” alongside the Russian film Stalker, and 2001: A Space Odyssey, and The Fountain, and the more recent but less majestic Arrival. But it fails, utterly.
Hollywood writers seem to have forgotten that a story is driven by the characters: if you don’t care about the characters, your film will fail, no matter how heady or ground-breaking you think your ideas are. A good story is a human adventure, first and foremost. So I knew this film was in trouble when the main character played by Natalie Portman, seemed distant and unfamiliar as the story progressed. And her marriage is a major theme in the story, but we don’t care about that either. Or her husband. Or anyone else on screen. They’re all just mechanisms to serve a purpose. None of this is on the many talented actors involved – they had nothing to work with in the script.
Apparently we’re supposed to overlook this, and be dazzled by the strangeness unfolding in the story. The problem is, the strangeness unfolding in the story isn’t really that strange, or even particularly interesting. Weird mutated plants and animals, okay, whatever.
Then the climax arrives, and it seems labored and pointless, and overly self-conscious. Oh look – this is supposed to be interesting because of the symbolism. Okay so what is the symbolism saying? I don’t know, but it’s supposed to be deep. But it doesn’t seem to be very deep. Maybe I’m not deep enough to “get it.” Could be. But I still don’t care.
Now we’re at the twist ending. How did that happen? I don’t know; it wasn’t shown, or explained. But it’s deep…it must be, right? I wish I cared.
And now it’s over. That was disappointing. I think there was supposed to be a point.
So I tried to read a couple of the reviews, written by the kind of people who love to rake over the philosophical implications of otherwise boring movies. And they seem to be very favorable to this film. And yet I still don’t care, because the story and the characters weren’t interesting to watch, and trying to make them interesting after the fact feels like scrounging for the crumbs at the bottom of a bag of potato chips: it wasn’t satisfying to begin with – the crumbs aren’t going to change that.
If you’re looking for a boring film to talk about at parties to see who the most pretentious film student in the room is – because they’ll love to get animated about the philosophical motifs and leitmotifs of this story – then this is your ticket.
But for my part, I wish I could just slap the jackasses who lifted this up to an 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, because their idiocy cost me of 2 hours of my life.
