Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

I wouldn’t stake my future on selling ear buds to members of the Paracast forums. But as we are talking about Steinberg, he has placed all his eggs on the possibility of selling trash to the few remaining members of the Paracast and the Tech Night Owl Live.
It would seem that the Tech Night Owl forum is not only deader than the Paracast’s but it was never alive in the first place. I can’t see that any action is going on any place elsewhere like Facebook or Twitter - where JRM claims all ex-forum folks interact these nowadays

Has anyone here met him face to face?

David Biedny has, he mentions it earlier in this thread if I recall right. I think it was at MacWorld, pre Paracast. Gene cut a Schleprock like figure apparently. This might have been in a comment at the UFO Trail but I think it was here.

He uses that one old photo online a lot, with the black hair... I hadn't thought about this angle but found it interesting when someone mentioned that might be so process servers etc. who Google him won't know what he looks like now. Hah!

Kind of robotic, strange unnatural black hair/wig? Sounds suspiciously like one of the original Men In Black?

Not much by the way of recent censorship by GS or nor pious comments by JRM. Maybe all of your publicity in here and on the web has had its effect? GS probably finally realising that the cat is out of the bag and that this particlur well has run dry? JRM probably finally realising that he’s hitched his horse to the wrong waggon - and many of the comments have a sound foundation of fact and common sense - although he’d be loathed to admit it publicly?
We’ll soon see

It might be their "rope a dope" strategy... sit back and take the punches then when the opponent is worn out, unleash that devastating counterattack that Gene and J. Randall Murphy are known for. No, wait. Probably not.

It's nice to think Gene might actually be spending his time on dealing with any real problems he might have.

He is the only person I’ve heard of that uses the term Constable. Is it a term anyone else here uses?

I found it odd too, or striking at least, but I have since learned there are constables in my area (U.S. midwest) as well. When I first saw Gene using the term I had thought maybe it was an Arizona thing. The title sounded sort of old-fashioned to me.

Where I live, "the constable acts as the bailiff of the township small claims court, serves court documents and uses police powers to make arrests, keep the peace and carry out orders of the court." So here, too, they may carry out evictions; not sure. Thankfully I have never had any experience with that.

I have a couple friends who own rental properties in this state. I asked one if he's ever had to evict anyone. He told me that he has, but has never had to get the courts involved to get a non-paying tenant out. Apparently in his case telling them to go has worked so far. Gene of course forces his landlords into court. Just another great thing about him.

Is this why he has no money? Gambling?

It's a hypothesis for the blackhole or one of the blackholes that swallows his money. He once denied a gambling problem by saying he never goes to casinos but when he goes to the casino he has a $20 limit. I don't think I need to point out why that makes no sense!

The other theory is a drug problem. Could be both though.

In the UK constable is used as a term for police rank but even here it is not used in other situations. It's very 19th century but since a lot of US law is derived from English law and process I've noticed that in some states and counties they still use old English terms. For example sheriff is still used in many places in the US but over here it sounds very old fashioned (except in Scotland where it is still used).
