Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

Chernov, the schnorrer of Petrograd, had a very wealthy patron who, for some obscure reason, had taken a liking to the nervy little beggar. Each year he would give Chernov a handsome stipend — never less than 500 rubles. One year, however, the rich man gave him only 250 rubles.

“What is the meaning of this?” demanded the insolent schnorrer. “This is only half of what you have been giving me!”

“I’m sorry, Chernov, but I must cut my expenses this year,” apologized the wealthy man. “My son married an actress, and I am paying all the bills.”

“Well, of all the chutzpah!” roared Chernov, hopping mad. “If your son wants to support an actress that’s his business. But how dare he do it with my money!”

Welcome to AE. :)

I do love schnorrer jokes, but Steinberg has taken all the fun out of them. He replaces nerve with shamelessness and wit with whining. He's destroying a whole tradition.

I'll guess there have been plenty of occasions in the life of J. Randall Murphy for folks to give him pep talks about failure. Just a hunch.
When ye dance with denizens like the Randallbot and Grifty Gene, ye are dealing with people far more experienced in failure than the average person. That does not mean they have wisdom about it; they just have more creep and blather than most.

JRM says himself that he's a very modest person - but there again I'm sure he's got a lot to be modest about :)

Why do I let this guy get my goat with his wacky statements?

"Another Emergency!" What emergency? He wants money, like he does everyday.

"Management isn't very forgiving here." Or anywhere! Motels expect you to pay to use their facilities. It's kind of their whole business model. Good grief!

A very weak effort.

yes agree half hearted to say the very least! And I see it's now the "marketing person", no longer the webmaster or "Anders" - unless we have yet another addition to the "payroll" :)
it's all a tissue of lies - and a very cheap and a very used one at that - yuk!

So we get another "Turd Talk" today. There is nothing new here and nothing that constitutes an emergency.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary an emergency is : "A serious, unexpected, and often dangerous situation requiring immediate action."

Routine bills are neither serious, unexpected or dangerous. We all have to pay them except for Gene of course, he thinks other people have to pay his bills.

Here's a suggestion you grifting piece of excrement - use your tax free social security money and ride sharing income to pay your bills. Problem solved.

The marketing person is busy adding items to the new Tech Night Owl Store (www.technightowl.store), and a Paracast Store will be up soon. If you buy merchandise it will also help my cash flow.

Yes that anonymous marketing person who was Anders. Then he wasn't Anders, then he was Anders again and now he isn't Anders. Totally not made up or suspicious at all. (If you are criminally insane)

I also welcome your subscriptions to The Paracast Plus (www.theparacast.com/plus/) or The Tech Night Owl Plus (www.technightowl.com/plus/).

I welcome you to subscribe to eating farts. I know you love that.

This guy "Anders" must either be a genius or the store is running that new IBM "Q" quantum computer - another 13 items sold so far today - and still the magic 7 always in stock :) puts a whole new meaning on "just in time inventory control"

I think the whole site, including GS himself and his Uber must be running on the "infinite improbability drive" concept he's always talking about.

Most of Steinberg’s post these days are laughable or farcical, take your choice. He really does need to come up with a new angle for the “11am motel payment deadline.” That is so worn out and tired now. I am eagerly awaiting the new products. We have been looking at the knock-off ear buds for a couple of weeks now. Just how long does it take to add more crummy junk to the list?

I submit that the motel management is very lenient. I would have booted Steinberg’s ass out many weeks ago. You have to believe he is the worst customer that the motel has. The bastard just won’t leave!

The shadow

The shadow knows!
number 20 beg mail Gene now has equaled the number of emails from Jan and Feb 2018!

Yes, Gene, you could use some help. Try Dr. Lucy. Even you can afford it.

GS's 2016 bankruptcy filing makes interesting reading for those having a care to do so. It clarifies his monthly SS as $1233 and his wife's as $520 - so a basic income at least - but not one to support the level of expenses stated for car payments, entertaining etc. He was stating about a $1,000 net monthly income from his "business"

Note that his household effects (furniture etc - but including computer) were only valued at $1690 - so hardly worth incurring any significant level of storage fees for?

Lastly the list of his debts (other than the $44k Torson one) is quite staggering -- car loans, credit cards, personal loans, leases.
