People reading this who gave Gene Steinberg cash in response to one of his emails... questions for you please.

1. Did you give him some money because you thought he was facing temporary difficulties and needed a little assist? Or, were you aware that he was in the midst of 10-13 year program of begging?

2. What did you believe your donation was going to help him with? Food, lodging, dental bills, purse business... do you even remember at this point?

3. Did he thank you for the donation?

4. Do you now regret your donation?

5. Would you give him money again?

Thanks in advance to anyone inclined to answer.

eternal death methods are threatened by my enemies to a person named cassandra from britain who goes by the name rupture corruption (@NHScorrupt).

i have been threatened via electromagnetic communication that someone in the UK will be soul thefted and given an eternal death. she is my best friend and i am a disorderly conduct victim. this threat appears incredulous or foreign but it is fully credible."

Gold Standard? :)

I gave my money because I honestly thought the show would be lost if Gene got evicted .
my wife gave him $1000 for one months rent. we both thought it was temporary.
2 . rent money
3. yes a "bless you "
4. absolutely I do. my wife more than me.
5. are you kidding? never again.

Thanks Shadow; no I am serious with question #5. Some people are still supporting Gene with their time at least. I imagine some might still think he can be helped with money. (Though I'm guessing that is no one who is active here.)

Thanks again.

Today's email:

Here we go again!

If you don’t want to read messages about my personal situation, feel free to delete them. Or you can unsubscribe via the link at the bottom.

So the motel manager told me yesterday that we can no longer renew our stay as of Friday.

Baseball spring training has begun in the Phoenix area, and they’re sold out. He held out the slight hope of a last-minute cancellation, but it’s only slight.

This time of the year, prices are at their highest. Even the cheap, low-rated motels are $75 a night plus 14.02% tax in the Mesa area.

Rooms are scarce, so we’re scrambling to find another place to stay.

I’m also trying to raise enough extra cash to cover the move-in to an affordable apartment. But doing both has been difficult.

I’m juggling payments to keep as current as possible with other bills.

I could really use some help today to keep going.

To send a donation, please login to: https://www.paypal.com/Send-Money, login and use the Send to friends and family option. Enter my email address, gene@technightowl.com, and click or tap Next to continue the transaction.

If you have any questions or ideas, please write.

Thank you for reading and for your past support.

Peace,
Gene

Those of you who were wondering about his wife and dog, the use of "we" here suggests they are still in the picture.

Also, "Even the cheap, low-rated motels are $75 a night...." WHY AREN'T YOU ALREADY STAYING IN THE CHEAP MOTELS????

I uploaded today's message just after it was posted here, so I'll edit this to delete the duplicate. But prepare for more drama. Here we again, and again, and again.

Why stay in that area? There are places in Gila much cheaper.

call me cynical but his story just had to change as it has become incredibly repetitive - so he had to introduce some new drama.

also so nice of him to say - as always - "please feel free to delete them"

It was a few years ago. Gene stated that the situation was temporary. Between my wife and I, we probably sent money five times. We did not check further until after we received still more emails. I can't remember being thanked one way or the other. He might have wished us "peace." I don't regret giving any more I regret giving money to someone with a sign on the street who may not really be a veteran seeking work. We could afford what we gave.

But no . . . I think the person on the street is more honest and needs help more than Gene. The victims of fire with a fixed income much less than Gene's certainly need more help. The local food banks and groups working for Justice need more help. So if the $70,000+ windfall that Gene received through bankruptcy didn't help him, there is nothing I can do except to offer advice he has ignored.

1) I bought a lifetime subscription to improve the show. I hadn't realised he was still sending those messages out as they had been going straight to my spam folder.

2) The donation was purely to improve the show because it just seemed to have descended to total garbage and I thought it would go to both Gene and Chris (only later Chris told me he got none of it and that's when I realised the whole Gene begging thing was still ongoing). I also realised he had sent me hundreds of begging messages on FB - which since I rarely use FB I hadn't seen - I ignore most of the messages I get on there anyway as it is 99% pointless spam anyway.

3) I can't remember if thanked me or not, but it wasn't really a donation, it was a subscription.

4) I totally regret it and would never have given it to him if I had all the knowledge of the UFOtrail blog etc then.

5)I will never send him any money again. There is no point, because on the one hand he doesn't deserve it and on the other it will do absolutely nothing except encourage him to keep scamming others for money.

BTW I have also bought multiple subscriptions before as a way to help him out (when I knew he was begging) but that was before I realised that the begging was a lifelong scam. I believed him at his word then (more fool me).

I don't see the issue with Gene hitting a food bank. they helped my family in a dark hour

A food bank offers staple foods which you have to cook and serve yourself. Gene only eats food that someone else cooks for him and serves to him. He has said multiple times before that he can't cook for himself and he won't cook for himself. Therefore a food bank is out of the question for him. You can't expect the Great Lord Turdburger to demean himself to that level - cooking like the rest of the peasants, the very idea would make him have a fit.
