We had this one posted on AU/AH years ago so I thought I would post it here for discussion.

Do I think it is or was a Stargate?
No.
But anything is possible.

A huge mysterious door-like structure was discovered in the Hayu Marca mountain region of Southern Peru. Hayu Marca, 35 kilometres from the city of Puno has long been revered by local indians as the "City of the Gods", and has never been fully explored because of the rugged mountain terrain. Although no actual city has ever been discovered, many of the rock formations of the region resemble buildings and artificial structures. The door, or the "Puerta de Hayu Marca" (Gate of the gods/spirits) has been at some time in the distant past carved out of a natural rock face and in all measures exactly seven meters in height by seven meters in width with a smaller alcove in the center at the base, which measures in at just under two meters in height.

Looks like a ceremonial altar/chimney for their religious offerings.

I remember their "interpretation" of it on ancient aliens.....its not exactly a good endorsement for a topic.

The quote from the link about the rugged terrain, this is no excuse in my opinion, if someone really wanted to explore this they would make it happen...If there were no time restraints and internet access along with food and water and the proper equipment, I would camp there and explored the site...

To me it just looks rugged......doesn't look to high. As long as one was prepared it doesn't look to bad.
