The proper application of some white plastic schedule 40 pvc pipe, a bbq igniter and a can of Aqua Net hair spray will net you a damned nifty potato cannon. I have unloaded several tubers recently off my deck. At 100 yards the potato will vaporize if it hits something solid. At 100 yards it would knock you on your ass, at a minimum.

Man, my head and The World are just different in the small hours before dawn. To hell with midnight, this is where the real monsters are

I decided that the repair costs for the car that has been vandalized twice now, is too high so, I was going to sell it to the scrap yard for $200. I went down to get my stuff out of the glove compartment and the trunk, the battery is so drained that the FOB doesn't work. I only ever had the ignition key and it won't open the doors or the trunk.

What to do, what to do? lol

Is there someone who could jumpstart your battery, a neighbour?...

I was wondering if anyone has tried a catapult for launching melons and well, yeah and it works, but it's not fool proof...

If you're going to scrap it let the junkyard come and deal with it. They'll have it open and on a flatbed in two seconds

I was thinking that I might have a big honking leaf spring left over from the suspension rebuild but I wound up keeping the original. Using it to power a launch platform was somewhere in queue in my head but didn't work out. I have a small sausage type compressor - I am thinking of switching to a compressed air spud gun and then maybe enlarge the design.

The recent weather has impacted our food production and the ability to feed livestock. The Wizard of Oz isn't doing us any favors.

Corn belt shifting north with climate change

What is hilarious is that before 2014 the drought was blamed on climate change.

Since 2014 the prediction is that climate change would make it wetter.

Are The Great Lakes Drying Up?

In 2013 the great lakes were going to dry up due to climate change.

Now they are at record levels (the other direction).

It is just weather.

That's what I'm hoping for. I just got notice for annual apartment inspection so, it will have to wait until the end of next week.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Thanks for responding, guys. :)

It never ends does it? They are now one month into replacing the elevator in my building. Two more months to go. I don't know if I have mentioned it here but, I have severe motion sickness so, I cannot use public transportation. That means I now have to double my taxi budget because I can only carry so many bags up 2 flights of stairs at a time. The taxi drivers refuse to unload groceries further than the buildings front door even if I offer them a large tip, they won't help me carry up the stairs. Chivalry is definitively dead guys. :(

Believe it or not there is not one store in Edmonton that will deliver groceries yet. I checked them all. There is one that will deliver certain items, but man it is almost triple the price of the item that I would pay if I just go to a store and purchase it. So much for staying out of debt. I have had to dip back into my overdraft again. :(

I was going to built a screen out of some lattice to help shade the A/C unit, but instead i ended up getting 5 Rose Of Sharons for the northside of the house to help cool off that side of the house when they get bigger. Spaced em out bout 3 1/2 feet apart, I didnt now if they were going to make it but i went out this morning and they were all pointing up. they were free from a place along the way to work, A kid daycare had bought a house next door to them to make it a parking lot and had the lot leveled, and i noticed all the rose of Sharon`s that are around 3 feet high growing up in a sand pile after they were done with the dirt work, so if they grow and do well, heck ya,i just saved $180 from me buying them at lowes, still thinking about the screen around the a/c something like this i think

I have those dual hose ones on wheels. Got them at a garage sale really cheap a few years ago. I keep one in the living room and one in the bedroom, keep the drapes/blinds closed and leave the door to the bedroom open. Sometimes I actually get a little too cold. lol I don't play with the temperature on the machines because most of the time it is a perfect 68 Fahrenheit / 20 Celsius in here.
