Did your team get it all back together?

Everything but the first one mentioned, it needed parts ordered that we did not have on the shelf, those parts will take 5 days to arrive from Europe...That gives me time to rewired it...

Back in my younger days I was able to see Dio/Elf and Deep Purple on August 24, 1974 at the Orange Bowl in Miami Florida.

I liked Deep Purple as well, never saw them in concert though...Here's a great Black Sabbath song with Dio...

So this coming Wednesday I'm going to be fitted for an AFO ( ankle foot orthosis ) brace that will slip around my lower leg instead of that unwieldy leg brace that went from mid-thigh to my foot I've been wearing for about two years now. This could be big guys. Imagine having to drag this around for that long

I'm at work today, started a few minutes ago, looks like a full day...I have a small crew changing filter bags in the dust collection system, it can only be done on days the plant is shut down, we couldn't do it yesterday cause it rained all day...

Another product recommendation fueled by too much coffee and boredom.

I bought a 4' fluorescent fixture with two T8 bulbs for the garage about two years ago. Lately it's had problems and yada yada yada and yesterday I realized that relatively new fixture already wants a $20 ballast. Worried about a fire - they can and do fry when they go. 2 years old and it's Lithonia Lighting junk. Their stuff is general OK but this thing's a p.o.s.

Replaced it with two of these from Home Depot:

white-commercial-electric-shop-lights-shop-3x1-840-hd-64_1000.jpg

Commercial Electric 3 ft. 1-Light 30-Watt Equivalent White Integrated Utility LED Shop Light with Power Cord

They are inexpensive, extremely lightweight and flat enough so that I could put one forward of my garage door opener and the door doesn't hit it when open, so I now have a lot of useful light right over the engine compartment when I need it. In fact they lit up that half of the garage to a surprising degree. Vast improvement over what they replaced although the total lumen output isn't much different. For $11 each. Not bad.

Meanwhile the two old 4' long twin T12 fixtures that were there when I bought the house 22+ years ago are used every day, sometimes for hours. No idea how old they are but I've only replaced a couple of tubes in all that time.

It was an exhausting day at work yesterday, three more days of work, including today, and then four days off for the holiday...

Another rough work day, its difficult to do good work when one has to babysit grown men...I would call one of these individuals incompetent but he has the ability to do the work requested of him...

Hope everyone enjoys Thanksgiving.

Try not to choke on food, get too liquored up and/or start any fistfights.
Do not preface any sentence with the words 'alright you sunzabitches .....'

And if you do we wanna hear all about it .....

There's something I never understood. You're there with him for a reason - you wouldn't be if it was all just working right. He's probably resentful but apparently eventually stepped up and did his job. Which means he could've just done that in the first place and cut a lot of nonsense out of the loop. Did you get to the part where he sits on the sidelines and snipes and carps at you like you don't know what you're doing? Naturally when you get the warp reactor back online it was just luck - and he probably had it half fixed already.

It's his mother's fault - most things are. Improperly socialized or potty trained. Or both.

Yeah I've been venting my spleen lately, got to work tomorrow and Saturday without them, we have three major machines down currently, two I can have back online by Sunday without any distractions, the issues are too complicated for those two, but everything that's occurred over the past 10 days is ALL attributed to human error, either operator failure or service failure or lack there of...

I wasn't hired to repair this equipment, so currently they have a high paid repairman in me but they know this and they also know I'll get those warp engines back online on time when I give them that time estimate, and not just bandaged back together either, it will be done correctly...

Yeah I hear some of the talk from the water cooler, boy do people talk shyte at this place, seems more than any other place I've worked at...

Speaking of spleens and the one he had half fixed, about that hydraulic component he put new o-ring seals in and assembled back together only to have it blow out worse than the first time...He didn't like being presented with the facts of o-ring seal repairs, that the seal must protrude above the metal for it to seal properly to the other piece of metal...Metal to metal with a seal 'floating' there in between doesn't hold up to hydraulic pressures...

I didn't work yesterday, my family had plans they wanted me to attend with them so I went to that affair, and after arriving back home in the afternoon yesterday I had an extremely pleasant surprise pop in...A very close friend whom I haven't seen in ages surprised me with a visit which we proceeded to spend the rest of the afternoon and the evening hanging out, grilled some food and drank New Castle beer with a random shot of Johnny Walker Platinum...

Today is an uneventful day at home with Kobi, not leaving the house, its kind of raining off and on today too, I may not even go out to the workshop...The closest neighbor within site has a drive into their home about an 1/8 mile or so away that splits in two and goes around a small hill that is landscaped well...Yesterday they commenced with putting up the christmas decorations outside, every year they load up that hill with all sorts of xmas yard decorations, I'll post some pics when its all done, so far there's a sleigh and a few reindeers and Santa waving at the road...Give them a few more days and it will be completed, some of it was lit up last night and Kobi can see it from the backyard, was barking at it lol...I can't see the neighbor's house from my property, all I can see is the drive and the island hill in the center of their property going in and where the drive splits around that hill, between me and them is semi-forested land but their on the same dead end road I live off of...
