I'm trying to recall...

Stare..... They are always staring
I have a rather vague question I guess, but I remember chatting with people over at the late lamented Paracast about a book (and an idea) that put out the concept that we are computer simulations and running out a program and that the things we think or do or experience are themselves programs. So does anybody know of the book that I'm trying to recall and better yet the name of the philosophy or idea that I'm trying to recall ? Transhumanism perhaps? From what I remember it seemed to be a growing respected concept and had a number of followers.

I actually got my concepts all mixed up but I also spotted another book from this spring called the simulation hypothesis that pretty much runs along the same lines so I ordered it.

Fratty and out of touch.
Michael Talbot's book is fairly well known because it was one of the earlier books (also one of the better ones) about the holographic universe theory. There have probably been a lot of good ones written since then. Please let us know if you find some others that you can recommend, Wade. I'm certainly interested in learning more about the subject!

I think, if everything I think is a program, then my program has at least 99 bugs in it...
