A controversial video.

Alien UFO

Honorable
On October 12, 2024, Xiaoming, a user of Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok), filmed a video of an unidentified flying object. The unidentified flying object in the video seemed to have a metallic luster. What was most astonishing was that it suddenly disappeared when it flew to the middle of the buildings. It looked as if it had become translucent and then vanished... Of course, this video was highly controversial. Some people thought it was just a balloon that exploded when it flew to the middle of the buildings, which made it seem as if the object had disappeared out of thin air.

Xiaoming said in the video, "I'm just an ordinary student. I don't know how to do photo editing or create CGI animations. I accidentally filmed this unidentified flying object after playing ball with my friends. The wind was really strong that day. Look at the trees in the video being swayed violently by the wind. If it was really a balloon as some of you (those who questioned him in the comment section) claimed, then why was this 'balloon' completely unaffected by the wind?" Then he showed the clip where the video was played in slow motion and the unidentified flying object became translucent and disappeared out of thin air...

It's not a balloon. This object is very small. Note it's size compared to the background.
I'm going to try to enlarge the object. My 1st impression is that it is a drone

Yes. It does look very small in the video. The original author of the video enlarged it later. You can have a look.

Can you watch the three videos filmed by a Chinese train driver that I posted normally? Personally, I think those three videos (especially the first two) are quite astonishing... As for the video I posted about the small UFO disappearing in an instant, strangely enough, I think it's rather shocking, but the news media and self-media in our country didn't react to it at all. They often report videos that clearly look like kites, balloons or spotlights, and then write the title as "UFOs have been witnessed".... This has further worsened the already very poor research environment for UFO phenomena in our country.

I'm aware of this. It is indeed deceptive and makes some people who don't know much about it mistake it for a real UFO. However, in the video I uploaded, it didn't seem very similar in appearance. And later, that thing disappeared out of thin air. Frame-by-frame analysis even made it seem a bit like that thing first became translucent and then vanished. It's hard to explain this phenomenon if it was a drone. (Of course, maybe it was just an illusion. For example, it might have flown into a balcony in the middle of the building, but the shooting angle of the video was rather far away, so it looked like it disappeared instantly.) Anyway, what it was completely depends on your understanding.

This is the basic problem with UFO pictures and videos - in 2025 for a list of reasons they really prove nothing. You could take 4K video of a big silver craft landing complete with a little grey alien coming down a ramp to say hello and most would refuse to believe it - with good reason.

I tend to take the Grover Krantz p.o.v.

He was an anthropologist unconcerned with UFOs, his interest was Sasquatch. Interesting character if you want to look him up. He resides in the Smithsonian with one of his dogs - their skeletons anyway for display.

Grover was a a genuine scientist, held a doctorate and published many peer reviewed papers. He came to the conclusion that pictures alone and various hair samples and footprints wouldn't cut it. That's why old Grover loaded up a rifle and grabbed a big spotlight and went looking for Bigfoot himself. A genuine case of "where's the beef ?"

Meaning, we could look at videos all day long - and I admit they are interesting - but until something concrete, something utterly unequivocal comes along we are getting no further along than a hamster in one of those little wheels.

What that might be exactly I couldn't really say, my hope would be for something like an Ariel School this time fully documented and undeniable. As for Bigfoot I've said many times ..... it'll be a Kenworth hauling logs that smears one on it's front bumper.

No, I am not suggesting anybody shoot anything. Prowling the desolate Northwest with a rifle is one thing, shooting down drones over New Jersey is another.

I would not doubt if some nitwit does the drone will say 'Made in China' on it anyway no matter who is operating it :)

Personally, I think the drones in New Jersey probably have nothing to do with China, just as the drones at Tianjin Airport most likely have nothing to do with the United States. Perhaps there is really some unknown force controlling them...

I don't know if you have access to this book or not but I recommend it if you do. It's an actual scientific study of phenomenon very much like those drones in very much the same area. It attracted the notice of Avi Loeb and is now part of his Galileo Project. Good stuff in there if a bit dry. It's more a paper than a book and there are some surprising tidbits in there.

I guarantee most won't bother to read it but will still weigh in with an opinion on it.

There is a very long story that goes way back and that's a horse I've beaten to death here with little notice taken. IMO we are seeing is a mature iteration of a reconnaissance technology that has been under development for decades.

The drones themselves appear to be conventional tech. I agree with our government's statements up to a certain point: hysteria has inflated this out of proportion. People locally have told me with great assurance they have seen them, yet these are folks I know for a fact had not ever bothered to actually look up at anything and when they do they see what they have been conditioned to see. I have breakfast with one every week - at the airport cafe. I live near one and do look up and indeed, there are all sorts of things to see but when you are used to them it's a different story.

Problem is there is a huge credibility gap. Without getting into politics we have good reason to distrust what we have been told and what our media reports. I also know the 'the government' is not homogeneous rather a huge collection of entities staffed by people loaded with the same human foibles we all have. They may not communicate, often one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. While some things are done very well others not so much. You sort of have to learn to read the chicken guts - look for trends and patterns rather than specifics.

You telling me something similar happened in China was quite a surprise and I will relish repeating it to anyone who might have an interest next time this topic comes up. Most people don't however so when I meet my friends who want to talk about drones it's just idle chat, we really just talk about restoring classic cars which is our main interest.

I agree with you. Actually, most people's fear is also the result of media hype. In our country, when the news that "someone witnessed a UFO" is reported by self-media, it's often clear from the pictures and videos that they are just weather balloons, spotlights or drones... This shows how lacking in common sense most people are. The reason is apparently that most of them are usually too lazy to look up and pay attention to the sky. As soon as they see something they think is strange, they go around claiming it's a UFO...

However, regarding the drone incident at Tianjin Airport that occurred in September last year, the official statement was that drones caused flight delays. The strangest thing is that there was indeed no first-hand video footage on the Internet, and the official also did not clarify who would organize drones to interfere with the normal takeoff of flights... In China, if someone is caught doing such a thing, they will be severely punished... So the truth behind this is very thought-provoking. At the same time, a large number of people on the Internet suddenly claimed to have seen UFOs at Tianjin Airport and uploaded those videos, most of which were blurry light spots or messy luminous bodies... It is unclear whether those videos are real or fake.

That's my thoughts on this drone problem...I think there's an unknown (to the public) player in all this...I do not know if the government knows about this 'unknown' source, perhaps they do and that's why there haven't been a scramble by the military to contain the situation...

@KL 123 if you are interested here's something that got me to join AE. That link is just to a thread here on AE, if you can't follow it just use the title in the search bar.

There was a very famous 'UFO wave' right where I live that was generated by, among other things, hysteria much like what we are seeing now. No ET, no UFOs except in one or two very specific instances that were virtually ignored much to my irritation. I know some will disagree with that but I live here and am not speculating, it was quite real and in person for me.
