Yes. Our air inside is often worse than the one outside..

The plastic fibers comes from our clothes or other types of non cotton/wool garnments..
You just made me vacuum my entire apartment.. Thanks Nivek

According to that map more plastic comes from Alaska than the whole of Canada, how can that be, there are far greater numbers of Canadians than Alaskans...

I believe our good Casual answered this very question in a slightly different thread..

This guy simply told them to stop throwing it, and recycle properly

I've read the U.S is going the other way, downsizing the EPA on the presidents orders.

While Britain to ban sale of plastic products in environmental push

You probably heard a lot of propaganda tied to that too, we aren't downsizing, just relaxing some unreasonable and irrational restrictions...

    "Sigh".

What isn't apparent to many people is the US is one country. Alaska is not a separate country and is not counted separately.

The US is responsible for 77,000 out of the over 8,000,000 tons of ocean plastic generated each year.

We don't know how much plastic Alaska is responsible for. It is probably much less than Canada.

The CONUS is probably responsible for most of it.

Canada has only 1/10 of the US population. If they produce over 7,700 tons of plastic waste per year they produce more capita than the US.

The US has the third highest population on the planet and is the third largest country.

The US has 4.3% of the world population and produces less than 1% of the plastic waste.

Didnt say that. Just recycle (collect) and burn in a modern CHP plant with flue-gas scrubber and cleaning.. Only thing that comes out is N2 and CO2.. I've worked at such a plant for a few months.. it works

I think we will get our tropical resort plastic island no matter if Canada contributes or not, too many other countries are doing their part to create it...

Latest on recycled plastics here in Australia is that a lot of councils are now forgoing the plastic recycling bin and just dumping the recyclable waste into landfill . They quote its uneconomical to recycle and they blame China for it.

What is going on in Queensland with recycling?

They are citing contaminated objects being in with recyclable materials once this happens they have to dump it all as landfill. It happened here the local council was caught dumping recycling waste at the landfill when it was supposed to be shipped to China . They also quoted contamination and the reason for dumping it at the tip. They are thinking of having 'see thru' clear plastic recycling bins so the truck drivers can actually see what is in the bin when they pick it up from the roadside.

Will we follow Qld and dump recycling bins?

Polyester, Nylon, Spandex, Rayon to name a few...

You also didn't mention hemp, silk, or cashmere...I try to buy cotton clothing, I also have two pair of wool dress pants but they have a liner inside that I'm not sure what material its made from...I do have some polyester clothing blended with cotton...
