we live in interesting times.

I think we are in uncharted waters...We've seen in history rises in totalitarianism, fascism, various ideological movements and extremist movements come and go...The difference today is never before have the extremists movements had such levels of technology to wield as we have at our disposal today...

The drum I bang is Immediacy of Communication being the root of all current Evil. You'd think in a free society it might mean individuals would have access to more information and could make more informed choices, instead the opposite has happened. Goebbels would literally **** his pants in anticipation of having an instrument such as we possess - the ability to fling absolute garbage globally instantly and the unfailing facet of human nature to let others do the thinking for us, tell us how to behave. Then, just for fun throw in a pandemic and use this instrument to scare the water out of an entire generation. Somehow the net result is this over the top liberal insanity that declares parents terrorists and has drag queens reading to the kiddies.

Maybe it's from watching Designated Survivor but if I could have a political wish it would be that virtually ALL of the current administration - both sides of the aisle - would vanish. And take DT & Co with them to the Fourth Dimension, the Bermuda Triangle or some other suitable disposal facility.

Having said that, I see the FBI raid as extremely dangerous and a slippery slope. Now they're apparently unwilling to be fully transparent as the AG actually came out and said they would. I'm not naive enough to think the FBI has ever been completely apolitical but there are some things that go beyond the pale - Virginia and now this being on the top of the recent list.

The double standard is blindingly evident but it's accepted because DT engenders a visceral hatred in people and the media loves to fan the flames and make sure the bandwagon is always full - even at the cost of the last shred of journalistic integrity any of them may have still possessed.

Don't think there's a double standard ? What if the raid was on Obama's home for the same reason ? If a story involving a laptop full of what we've seen - don't think anyone is disputing that is Hunter Biden - involved one of the Trump's sons how do you think it would be treated ? Right. Or if it appeared they were colluding with unfriendly foreign actors to enrich themselves in ways likely not to the benefit of the United States? No matter what anyone thinks about those stories there is no denying that they would be treated very, very differently.

If you live in one of the NYCHA toilets that Cuomo toured that I guarantee have not received the slightest attention since his photo op, how would you feel about the busloads of single men they have given money, cell phones and now a nice hotel room to ? Or if you were a legal immigrant who went through the procedures these people just bypassed ? Think that's fair to the Iraqis and Afghanis that worked with us that now suffer for it ?

First and foremost - What were boxes of classified material doing at a former Presidents home???

A good reason would end any debate - At this point, and without knowing the details, the fact that there was
no good reason and one of Trump's lawyers having signed a statement saying it was already returned, is the
root of the problem.

The cartoon seems to imply DT is a victim

Isn't that like a religious person seeing the Devil as a victim of sin ?

We have no idea what he had, or any other former President for that matter. No clue what the precedent has been either, and without doubt there have been some qualifications.

What I do know is that transparency is not an option although we were told it was. Also that some reporting has been innacurate. You don’t have to be a DT supporter to question this. I am not one and have concern over this. Unfortunately if you don’t join the ‘hate Trump’ bandwagon nobody believes that. To their detriment, talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face

I guess we didn’t learn any lessons from the Golden Man in Lost in Space eh?

Many DT former supporters, including me, ended up disillusioned. At least Trump didn't cost me anything directly,
except changing my political registration from Republican to Independent - And a loss of status on a major
mostly right wing oriented forum that still continues to idolize the boss.

Something I have been noticing lately. There are these people who are threatening law enforcement agencies. I don’t know about you but I would be the last person to take a bullet for Donald Trump. Trump is infamous for using people and then casting them aside. Rudy Giuliani, do you hear that?

It’s pretty bad when Rand Paul and Tulsi Gabbard are kicking you in the ass. I read that Liz Cheney voted 90% of the time with Trump. Unfortunately, she voted for impeachment of Trump. That will sting you every time if you are a Republican.

Cheney got 29.2% of the vote. That’s pretty bad for an incumbent. Ouch!

She's in bad shape with severe TDS, I don't think she will ever get Trump out of her mind again...Every time I've heard her speak she starts ranting about him at some point, every time she opens her mouth lol...

Liz Cheney's sour grapes: Wyoming Republican blasts Trump for landslide 37-point primary loss and says she IS 'thinking about' running for President: Accuses Donald of LYING about Mar-a-Lago raid and 'preying on people's patriotism'

Liz Cheney isn’t thinking straight. Can you imagine all the crap she will take trying to run for President. She just wants a pedestal to bad mouth Trump. She could never win a presidential race.

Thing is Trump has a habit of turning some of his best supporters into enemies - I could write a book, and books have already been written on how and why - It goes beyond politics.

Compare Trump to Ronald Reagan and see it as entertainment.

Trump was, and still is, a Don Rickles type of insult comic - And in the beginning was funny,
remember him referring to Ted Cruse as "Lying Ted Cruse"?
Reagan on the other hand, if nothing else, had a lot of class - And was often called "the great communicator".
As President, the former movie actor played his greatest role as President, and played it well.

In an atmosphere of a country seriously divided politically - The last thing we need is for "the great divider and chief", as Biden called Trump, back in office.

When I blogged for and voted for DT back in 2016 I was one of the "anyone but Hilary" voters.
Today I'm in the anyone but Trump camp.

Politico reports Afghanistan pullout as the ‘dark cloud’ over Biden’s approval rating, he likely can’t recover

In a Politico piece published Wednesday, author Elise Labott explained that President Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal was the "the moment his presidency started to spiral out of control" and something he has yet to recover from.

Intent on figuring out the exact moment things went wrong for Biden, considering his consistently low poll numbers and how even most Democrats would like a new party standard-bearer come 2024, Labott looked at the president's approval ratings before and after the disastrous Afghanistan pullout.

"In the months before Afghanistan fell to the Taliban late last summer, Biden was enjoying a honeymoon period since taking office. His average approval rating was about 53 percent," the reporter noted, adding that "within days" of the withdrawal, "Biden’s poll numbers went sideways, with a majority of Americans disappointed in his handling of the withdrawal."

Labott described how serious the shift was, writing, "That was the lowest point in his presidency at the time and a big swing in a deeply polarized era that rarely sees large shifts in public opinions of presidents." She also cited another Morning Consult Poll, which revealed that "43 percent of registered voters thought Biden held a great deal of responsibility for the situation — more, respondents thought, than any of his three predecessors involved in the war."
