Part of me honestly wonders how history will judge all this in say, 50 years hence. There had to be a shift away from fossil fuels at some point and the transition wasn't going to be easy or simple but it is necessary Problem is this administration is pandering to the media that they apparently control and this shift has nothing to do with climate change or fuel sources it's about keeping themselves in power.

Mystery of Paul Pelosi hammer attack deepens as new police account reveals how he calmly opened door to cops after phoning 911, did NOT reveal he was in trouble and then walked BACK towards 'intruder' who bludgeoned him

New details revealed by sources claim that Paul Pelosi answered the door to police when they responded to the 911 call to his home last week, but never said he was in distress. The 82-year-old husband of the US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi answered the door to police when they responded to the 911 call to his home last week, but never said he was in distress and instead smiled and walked back into his home where the attacker bludgeoned him with a hammer, new details revealed. It's not clear if Pelosi was already injured at that time or what his mental state was when he walked back into the house.

Blame it on the kill-an-elephant crushing hangover I have right now but having been speaking with the wifey at the kitchen table I am feeling political. Her sister is highly intelligent but is a shut in. Has issues and is quite naive about .... most everything ... but literally has CNN and only CNN on 24/7. I get to hear her views on Everything and she will literally repeat word for word whatever comes out of the TV and believe it 100%. She's educated and very smart, just nuts. People do the same thing with Fox or whatever else they watch but this one spouts CNN. This is literal brainwashing. There isn't one single thing that isn't Trump's fault. My point is that Biden ran on a anybody-but-trump platform and that's all they got. Apparently the elimination of Daylight Savings Time is an evil Trump plot of some sort. Name something they have accomplished - please, because I can't. There is no recession, there is no crime, there is no energy problem. Nope. Never mind what you can see for yourself. But they're not Trump so that's better despite our life savings going down the toilet and that Biden really honestly seems out of it and is a packaged, polished product that God knows who has to turn on in the morning.

Notice that we haven't heard **** about the FBI raid lately ? If that were a useful weapon they'd be using it right now, even if it's just to give it air time. But it went suddenly quiet.

And I'd love to know what the story is behind Paul Pelosi's attack. Whatever it is, and I don't suspect a Machiavellian plot, it ain't what we are hearing.

Meanwhile Koreans are shooting missiles all over the goddamned place, we've been deliberately showing off our missile submarines. We rarely if ever do that. All over ****ing Ukraine that I could care less about. This all makes me sick.

Hochul's complete 180 after telling GOP to 'get out' of NY days before election

Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul appears to have a change of heart when it comes to Republicans in her state as polls tighten ahead of Tuesday's election.

In August, Hochul lashed out at Republicans at a campaign event, declaring the "era of Trump and Zeldin" was over.

"And we are here to say that the era of Trump, and Zeldin and Molinaro, just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK? Get out of town. Because you do not represent our values," Hochul said. "You are not New Yorkers."

ugh. Turns out there are early voting options and in terms of scheduling this year it's helpful. we're headed over to the town hall shortly to do just that.

Vote early, vote often and deny the results until you get what you want. I wonder if they'll make some accommodation in the local cemeteries so the dead can vote more easily this time.

Biden declares he wants to see ‘no more drilling’ during last-minute rally for Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul

President Joe Biden had a testy exchange with a climate protester at the end of a last-minute rally to boost support for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul just two days ahead of the midterm elections.

The president spoke at Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, touting his achievements in office and lambasting Republicans, particularly Hochul’s rival, Rep. Lee Zeldin.

While wrapping up the speech, a climate protester shouted something at Biden that made him seem visibly annoyed.

"No more drilling," Biden said.

After the protester continued to shout at him, he shot back, sounding even more irritable: "There is no more drilling. I haven’t formed any new drilling."

The protester could then be heard making objections to "offshore drilling" in the Antarctic and the Gulf of Mexico.

"That was before I was president. We’re trying to work on that to get that done," Biden responded.

The comments amounted to a doubling down of Biden’s climate agenda ahead on the eve of the midterms despite evidence that it has, in part, contributed to a rise in gasoline prices.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, told FOX Business last month that major petroleum refinery snags and policies disincentivizing more fossil fuel production or nationwide refinery capacity have contributed to the price uptick this year.

Bill Maher says Biden's far left pandering makes it hard to 'convince' centrist Democrats to vote for him

Comedian and HBO late-night host Bill Maher lamented over the weekend that President Biden’s recent rhetoric and embrace of far-left policies have made it increasingly more difficult to "convince" Democrat centrists that their views still align with the party.

In a Sunday interview on CNN’s "Fareed Zakaria GPS," Maher predicted a sweeping victory for Republicans in Tuesday’s midterm elections, suggesting that Biden’s efforts to appease the far-left progressive wing of the Democrat Party could be what costs them critical congressional seats.

Maher pointed to Biden’s interview last month with a transgender TikTok activist, during which the president said it is "wrong" for states to ban gender-affirming health care. His comments came shortly after the administration released a series of documents that encouraged gender-reassignment surgery and hormone treatments for minors.

I don't have a problem with shifting away from fossil fuels. After all, we shifted away from the horse and buggy. I do have a problem with force feeding it en masse before the technology and infrastructure is ready for it. Is climate change real? If it real, is it our fault and can we actually do anything about it? I don't know and neither does anyone else. I've gotten to the point where I don't give a fuck about climate change because it's just a means for one group of people to force everybody else to do what they want right now. Now, I'm not firmly on the side of the climate change is a hoax crowd either. Many of them are just as clueless and incapable of independent thinking as the former.

Terminally out-of-touch Democrats are limping into Tuesday like a wounded dog wagged by its woke tail - because they were deaf, dumb and blind to their constituents' concerns

The fundamental problem for the Democrats is that they have quite simply gotten very bad at politics. If that sounds like a sweeping statement, that's because it is. But how else to explain the fact that as voters consistently tell pollsters they care most about crime, inflation, the economy, and immigration, the Democrats obstinately refuse to abandon their dog-eared playbook of pro-abortion maximalism, 'Orange Man Bad'-style January 6 fearmongering, and trite warnings about the purported threats to 'our democracy' if the opposition party wins a free and fair election. The Democratic Party is, at this point, best described as a wounded dog wagged by an intersectional, woke-besotted tail. It seems that the voters have finally had enough. In fact, Americans just can't take it anymore. The red wave did not materialize out of nowhere - it's been building for months. And if the terminally out-of-touch Democrats hadn't been no deaf, dumb and blind to the pleas of their own constituents, maybe they could have headed off the disaster. Case in point: last November, Republican Glenn Youngkin stunned the nation by capturing the Virginia governorship, proving that the Old Dominion-which had gone for President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election by over 10 points, and hadn't gone statewide for the GOP in any election since 2009-is still very much up for grabs.

Washington Post gives Biden a 'bottomless Pinocchio' in fact-check of several misleading claims

The Washington Post gave President Biden a "bottomless Pinocchio" in a fact check of several recent claims he's made, including statements about Social Security.

"Folks, I spent a lot of time — more time with Xi Jinping than any other head of state. … I’ve traveled 17,000 miles with him," the president said on Nov. 3 in San Diego. Glenn Kessler wrote that the Post has fact-checked this claim several times before and that the president has said it over 20 times.

During the Trump administration, the Washington Post created a new rating, the "bottomless Pinocchio," for claims that had been given three Pinocchios and had been repeated at least 20 times. "Now Biden has earned his own Bottomless Pinocchio," Kessler wrote.

The analysis also fact-checked the president's claim that seniors were getting an increase in their Social Security checks for the first time in 10 years. The White House also included this claim in a tweet that was deleted.

"The reason Social Security payments are going up is because Social Security benefits, under a law passed in 1972, are adjusted every year to keep pace with inflation," the Post's analysis said.

The president also claimed recently that gas was over $5 a gallon when he took office.

"And because of the action we've taken, gas prices are declining. We're down $1.25 since the peak this summer and they've been falling for the last three weeks as well, and adding up real savings for families today. The most common price of gas in America is $3.39, down from over $5 when I took office," Biden said in October.

The Washington Post's Fact-Checker wrote that the White House has commonly referred to the "most common price" from GasBuddy because California's high gas prices raise the price of the national average.

The president has also repeated a claim about the Second Amendment several times, which the Washington Post gave four Pinocchios for in 2021. "The Second Amendment was never absolute," Biden said in June, despite the claim being debunked. "You couldn’t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed. You couldn’t go out and purchase a lot of weapons."

And I'd love to know what the story is behind Paul Pelosi's attack. Whatever it is, and I don't suspect a Machiavellian plot, it ain't what we are hearing.

There's many unanswered questions, some listed below in the excerpt, this case is very strange, and for the left to immediately claim it was a right-wing attack is very telling...

NBC News blasted by critics over retracted Paul Pelosi report as questions persist: 'Done so much damage'

(Excerpt)

Indeed, there remains an assortment of lingering questions about the details of what led up to the attack on Pelosi. As Krakauer asked,

"How was Pelosi able to call 9-1-1, and why did the assault only happen after police arrived?

How was Pelosi able to open the door for the police while being essentially held hostage?

Why wasn't there a security system with an alarm that went off after the glass broke and the back door was opened at 2 a.m., instantly alerting the police to a break in?"

Biden, Democrats blasted for 'threat to democracy' warnings: This will backfire like 'Defund the Police'

With hours left until Americans head to the ballot boxes, a Democratic strategist warned on CNN that the party should expect "a bad night" after months of not listening to voters. "I am not happy. I just think that we did not listen to voters in this election," Hilary Rosen said on CNN Sunday. "And I think we're going to have a bad night when voters tell you over and over and over again that they care mostly about the economy. Listen to them. Stop talking about democracy being at stake."

"Outnumbered" responded, arguing that Democrats' messaging failed to connect with the top issues facing voters. "This ‘democracy dying’ [motto] is the new ‘defund the police’ [that] we saw in 2020," co-host Kayleigh McEnany said. "Defund the police backfired."

"The Democrats saw this as a game," co-host Emily Compagno argued. "But Republicans the entire time did not. They listened to the American people."

A recent Quinnipiac University poll showed that Americans largely view inflation as the primary issue facing this country. Abortion came in as the second issue, but with significantly less attention than the economy.

Democrats have honed their messaging in on abortion and threats to democracy, in many cases trying to avoid conversations about crime, inflation, the economy and education. Election integrity and voter impression have also been talking points in the Democrats' final pitch to voters.

Critics of the messaging have come from both sides of the aisle.
"The point is there's a messaging misalignment here, where voters are saying one thing and the Democrat Party is saying something entirely different," McEnany said. "This administration never once said, I hear you or even I'm listening, but instead they said, here's how you should vote, here's what you should care about, and we are making you the enemy for even daring to think differently," Compagno said.

Top leaders including President Biden, former President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have doubled down on anti-GOP rhetoric in conjunction with the "threat to democracy" messaging.

Compagno, however, pointed out Democrats funneled huge sums of money into MAGA Republicans' campaigns.
"If it was such a threat to democracy if the GOP gains House seats and senatorial seats, why then did that party fund billions to put those names on the ballot if it was truly existential, if it really was a battle for the soul of America?" Compagno asked.

As the final hours until the midterms wind down, the ballots will decide whether Democrats' messaging resonated with voters.

You have to wonder how the situation turned so ugly for the Democratic Party. They controlled the Presidency and Congress. The Senate was a tie but the Vice President could vote to break a tie. It seems that there aren’t any middle of the road politicians anymore. I only see harping from the extremes of both parties. My guess is we are in for a long, ugly future no matter who rules.

GOP hopefuls campaigned on crime and cost of living. Democrats bet the farm on culture wars. Today millions vote in the most momentous midterm elections for a generation

Rampant crime. Our economy - all our livelihoods - on the brink. Like so many of you, these are my top concerns. Care to guess who I'm backing? It takes a lot to lose the female vote in our post-Roe era, but here we are. And the Dems have no one to blame but themselves. I don't normally vote red. But I'm hardly alone in my apostasy this election cycle. In fact, I suspect this election will resemble the shock of Trump in 2016 - at least in New York, where I live. I think many people who usually vote Democrat are likely not telling pollsters, or friends or family, that for the first time they feel no other option than to vote Republican. There's a sense of desperation, chaos and a palpable desire for change. But Democrats don't seem to be listening.

Media, Democrats question intelligence of Americans who are voting Republican: 'Aren't very bright'

Liberal media figures and Democratic politicians are questioning the intelligence of Americans who are voting Republican, befuddled by the idea that some could put economic issues over concerns about the state of U.S. democracy.

While voting rights and threats to democracy are key voting issues, especially among Democratic voters, polling has repeatedly shown that issues such as the economy, inflation, crime, and abortion often outperform the former. However, this has not stopped media figures and Democrats from blasting their warnings about Republican lawmakers across the airwaves.

Over the weekend, left-wing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore gave his final push to vote Democrat ahead of the midterms, but in doing so, claimed that 80 to 90 million Americans "aren’t very bright."

"No offense to any of you watching that aren’t bright, but that’s—you’re watching MSNBC, so I’m making an assumption that you know what’s going on," he said.

He also expressed confusion at the idea of women "giving up their rights" because of their alarm over the price of gas or the price of food.

On November 3, "The View’ co-host Sunny Hostin was widely condemned for comparing White suburban women voting Republican to cockroaches voting for insecticide. Some critics even called for the host’s firing.

"What’s also surprising to me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just yesterday that White Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican," Hostin said, appearing to refer to surveys showing White women backing Republicans in 2022. "It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid [roach spray], right?"

The condescending attitude towards voters leaning Republican in the midterm elections continued on ABC, with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel appearing to mock voters whose troubles have pushed them to vote red.

"The midterm elections are on Tuesday, and we have a tough decision ahead. On the one hand our democracy is being threatened by extremists who want power over at all costs even if it means burning us to the ground. On the other hand, gas is four dollars a gallon now, so," Kimmel sardonically quipped.

Similar conversations could also be found on social media, with liberal journalists appearing to mock Americans concerned about inflation and the price of gasoline.

"I don’t get the obsession with ‘high’ gas prices," Reuters reporter Patricia Zengerie tweeted, alongside a picture of gas at a Shell station being sold at $3.49 a gallon.

Henry Ford intended his Model T to be a multifuel vehicle and the original intent was ethanol because we're up to our asses in corn. There was no infrastructure for cars, that all followed. The interstate system wasn't built to go cruising, it was built for the same military logistical purposes that the autobahn was actually used for.

We could have continued to develop multifuel hybrids and do this in intelligent steps driven by actual engineering. I've often thought that those lovely, giggly big yellow school busses - and who doesn't loooooove big yellow school busses - would have been the logical place to start. There and public transit. This does exist to some degree, but not so much as you'd think. Large fleets of large vehicles that consume almost as much fuel on a given day as a UN Global Warming junket. To be fair, there has been some improvement in efficiency that I can see around here in that regard but not all that much in light of current attitudes. Could be a lot better but there's something else to blame DT for. And Putin.

Instead we're doing this.
