From FB a dose of truth!
It's not that the failure of the referendum questions make WI worse than it was. No one will die because of the results.
What is disconcerting is that Dem messaging WORKED on Republicans. Many Republicans voted "no" on the questions. Why? They responded positively to Democrats' campaign messaging. I lost count on how many Republicans emailed me saying they got a flyer from some innocuous sounding group and thought the right way to vote was "NO". I received an email from an election worker who sorted ballots and said he noticed a huge number of Republican voters marking "NO" on their ballots.
What is also disconcerting is the lack of anything that resembled a "campaign" on the questions. If they were important enough to put on the ballot, why were they not important enough to spend money on? Why were they not important enough to correct the Dem lies at scale?
I simply can't see a way those questions fail if there was an actual campaign behind them. Did anyone tell state voters that Evers was using printed federal money as a slush fund for his cronies? Did anyone know he used Covid money for Planned Parenthood? Sure some did...but not many. Did anyone explain that giving the legislature co-authority over the unrestricted federal $$ would have ZERO impact on emergency declaration (tornado, flood, fire etc) distribution because those dollars are NOT "unrestricted"? No.
Were were the radio ads? TV/digital ads? Heck, where were the yard signs?
I'm not sure what is going on with the legislative GOP. I'm not sure what's going on with the state party. But both groups just proved that Dems can "steal" WI not by ballot harvesting, but by LYING.
Again, no one will die because those questions failed. It's the reason they failed that is so troubling.
And given that (so far) Trump has not been effective at countering the coordinated media campaign to redefine Harris and Walz as moderates, this worries me greatly.
We need a counter media strategy. Talk radio and self-directed posts on social media are not enough.
Pray Team Trump sees this problem as clearly as I do.
