I'm swedish Its not very common for us to celebrate thanksgiving or eat turkey here.. I know the americans living here tho, keep the tradition going.. It seems like such an nice holiday,, with your family gathered... A mini christmas ? I've heard some prefer to smoke the birds, in diff. ways to give the meat some xtra flavour
I only ate turkey once, many years ago, i've forgot how it taste like. Turkey is expensive, thats why we don't buy it.
Turkey is really an acquired taste. it's not as good as really great chicken. it's in my opinion slightly better than Tuna on the food chain. It's a total acquired taste in my opinion.
No, i dont think it taste like chicken. As far as i can remember, the meat was harder than chicken and it was quite tasteless i think.
It depends on if you are eating the light meat or the dark meat, turkeys have both kinds. The Dark meat is fattier and has a slightly different taste while it's usually softer. The lite meat Can range from soft to hard and is somewhat tasteless depending on if it was basted and buttered while it was being cooked. Ultimately the white meat of Turkey tastes like whatever butter you used to cook it with if any.
You didn't eat a well prepared turkey and it may not have been as fresh and tender...Yesterday I ate a very tender full flavoured turkey breast, I personally like turkey over chicken any day, it's a cleaner meat and easier to digest...
