A technical note - usually suboptimal to load & lock and then throw your weapons in a big pile. And when you're waving them around dramatically try not to point them at each other

Actually I keep all weapons locked up so my reaction would probably be to grab a hatchet or Maglite. From what I've seen @August is in Tasmania with all sorts of critters running around so I wouldn't make that bet with her.
On our family farm a loaded shotgun behind the kitchen door was normal (although before my time)
