as well. rode motorcycles since i was a kid. learned to ride on 250cc chech made jawa. sold both again before retiring. mine's the yellow 750. i custom painted it, fabricated and welded crash bars with foot pegs, carrier support and funky music themed cover for the hot spot. i do miss riding and belonged to a club. dangerous out there. too many distracted drivers

so, we had a snow fall over night. little early for it but then this is canada, eh. nor'wester blowing strong and steady. tomorrow however temps rise to 65F. next day back down again. yup typical fall weather. leaves are dying, their colours are lovely. after a few hours of raking those leaves now taking a break and sipping a cranberry tea and reading here a bit.

retirement. what a time of life. busy for sure. but it's a pleasant busy. a leisurely busy. a non mind boggling busy. a stress free busy. a time to love and be loved. a time for gatherings. a time for laughter. a time for tears of joy. a time for family and friends. a time for the grands. higher education indeed. peacefully soaring. loudly snoring. no time for boring. no mind for scoring.

Hello and thank you so much for that picture as I have hardly an image left of kimosabi, that sweet jack russell who passed on years ago...I had a hard drive that failed and lost almost all of his images on that drive, this one included...

Merry Christmas to you and your family, of all my travels in life, visiting you and your family many years ago is the most cherished that touched my heart and soul...

and so good morning. all is well. some strong south winds and driving rains overnight bringing in the warm temps today. not much going on here at the moment. that may change as the day progresses though. family christmas was a fine time. good company. food was awesome. we all took grands out to the sledding hill in the park behind us. snow on the hill was perfect for a long ride. long after dinner walk with my two adult sons. weather was perfect for it. new year coming up. wonder what it will hold.

hope everyone everyone is keeping well.

interesting to some perhaps. have been using 'firefox' browser for ever it seems. yesterday, after reading some, i decided to download/install the browser comodo dragon. i like it. with it, as i type here, i am on a virtual machine and in full 'incognito' mode. 'flash' is blocked on this site and unauthenticated sources trying to run scripts on this page are being kept from doing so. interesting to me anyways.

morning. a short story with pics. one summer day i sat on my riding mower to cut the lawns. as i was heading towards the back are i saw what i thought was leaves blowing around. as i got closer i saw a mouse with babies in tow scurrying away from the mower. the were moving slow so i stopped went in the house and got my digital camera. looks like a mom with her little ones attached. they moved as one unit. i of course let them be and then continued to cut grass.

been away a while. with good reason too. doc said at my age 'all warranties are off'. true that. seems my still good heart was pumping extra hard to get blood through an aortic valve no longer capable of doing it's job. it all happened so fast. from one day to the next. could have been a worse outcome. my dear wife/soulmate/lover and partner in crime along with my doc and the cardiologist saved my life. a code blue called ems drive at break neck speeds lights horns took me to a hospital specializing in heart surgery. angiogram through the radial artery in my wrist showed a good heart good capillaries good valves but a seized barely opened aortic valve. 45 mins later a perceval sutureless valve was in place. been a month post op and feeling quite well. still can't drive nor sit up front due to airbags. another few weeks to go 'til full recovery. only minor discomfort left from the sternum being cut and spread open to get at heart then wired back into place.

'Perceval is a bioprosthetic valve designed to replace a diseased native or a malfunctioning prosthetic aortic valve via open heart surgery, with the unique characteristic of allowing sutureless positioning and anchoring at the implant site'

I put an awesome on your post cause it's awesome you are still with us, I had a feeling something serious was going on with you, still feel strong vibes from you on occasion...Quite honestly I was also feeling some chest pains during that time frame, I knew it wasn't from me and couldn't pinpoint the source...

hello from a warm and humid southern ontario. some maple tree leaves are starting to change colour but on the whole, lots of greenery around yet.

8 months after my heart valve replacement and feeling great. playing pickle ball 3 days a week and squash on occasion as well. good cardio workout indeed. lost a lot of weight while convalescing after the open heart surgery but have gained my normal weight back. mostly in muscle form this time.

some talk about time in another topic. 14 years will go by quickly and once it does this guy is going to be 80 years old. time eh.

my dear wife/soulmate/lover and partner in crime were at our local casino the other day. on stage comedian jeremy hotts. great show. next month we catch up with another comedian, derek edwards, we truly enjoy. he'll be at the local opera house.

Hello dear friend, good to hear from you again, I've looked in on occasion, seemed you have been doing well and by the sounds of it, yes indeed...:)

We have the humidity here and some cool nights lately, mild temps overall, and I'm loving it...Indeed 14 years can go quickly, so can 20 years when I was up there in Southern Ontario visiting you...Ah good times...:)

and so a hello to everyone here. all is well with us old folks here in the northern part of southern ontario. the covid19 (shortened from COronaVIrusDisease2019) is in full pandemic swing.

spring has sprung and all this week the temps are warm and the sun will shine. lots of yard work and gardening have been going on here. as well as walks in the park. keeping our distance from all the other families and seniors from the neighbourhood doing the same. lots of loud chatting going on. heh

been playing a lot of mandolin lately and two of the grandsons have ukuleles.

listen to these too. an allman brothers tune.
