Now deadly mystery Chinese virus crosses the ocean to Japan as World Health Organization warns it could spread around the globe

Japan has confirmed its first case of infection from the new China coronavirus, after the World Health Organization (WHO) warned hospitals around the world to prepare for the illness.

The health ministry in Japan today said that a man in his 30s close to Tokyo has tested positive for the disease. It is believed the man, who originates from the Kanagawa prefecture had recently been to the Chinese city of Wuhan. In Wuhan there has been an outbreak of pneumonia believed to be caused by the new coronavirus strain.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said the new virus could spread and has warned hospitals worldwide.

Scientists are baffled by the virus which has never been seen before. Tests have so far shown it is a type of coronavirus.

Forty-one cases have been contained in the Chinese city of Wuhan since December. One patient has died of the pneumonia caused by the virus.

However, the first identified case outside of the country in Thailand last week raised concerns the virus could cross borders.

The woman, a Chinese national who was on holiday in Thailand, triggered a step-up in surveillance at airports.

Although the virus was initially thought to be transmitted by animals, the WHO said there is now evidence of human-to-human transmission.

Earlier this week, Dr Maria Van Kerkhove, acting head of WHO's emerging diseases unit, said it had given guidance to hospitals worldwide about infection control in case of spread.

This includes the potential of 'super spreading' in health care settings, which is when a few ill patients can transmit the virus to dozens at a time.

Discussing the potential spread of the virus, Dr Kerkhove said: 'This is something on our radar, it is possible, we need to prepare ourselves.'

Some hospitals in China, a tourist hotspot for some 595,000 British tourists each year, have already been directed to report cases of fever in anyone who has travelled to Wuhan in the past 14 days. The city is home to 11million people.

Investigations have identified the respiratory disease as a new type of coronavirus, which cause cold-like symptoms including a runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat and a fever.

There has been some 'limited' human-to-human transmission of the virus, the WHO said. It has backtracked on its statement on January 12, when it said there was 'no evidence' of such.

The virus was largely speculated to have come from an animal, considering the majority of sickened people worked or visited a seafood market in Wuhan.

But since cases have cropped up without any exposure to the food market, there is reason to believe it can be transferred between humans.

The WHO added that cases have mainly been seen in small clusters among family members, but there is potential for wider spread.

A Chinese woman was quarantined in Thailand with the coronavirus, authorities said on Monday, the first time it has been detected outside China. She was able to return home on Wednesday in a stable condition.

The news came ahead of a flux of Chinese tourists to Thailand for Lunar New Year on January 25.

Other possible cases emerged up in 15 travellers who returned to Hong Kong and following visits to the city in Hubei province. One suspected case was also reported in Singapore.

It was feared the life-threatening SARS, a highly contagious virus, was behind the flurry of cases in Wuhan.

SARS killed hundreds of people in China and Hong Kong in the early 2000s. But no cases have been recorded in the world since 2004.

But SARS, bird flu, Middle East respiratory syndrome and adenovirus have now been ruled out following investigations, authorities have said.

THE NEW CORONIVURS IN CHINA TIMELINE

December 31 2019: The WHO China Country Office was informed of cases of pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China. Around 44 suspected cases were reported in the month of December.

January 1 2020: A seafood market was closed for environmental sanitation and disinfection after being closely linked with the patients.

January 5 2020: Doctors ruled out severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) as being the cause of the virus, as well as bird flu, Middle East respiratory syndrome and adenovirus. Meanwhile, Hong Kong reported

January 9 2020: A preliminary investigation identified the respiratory disease as a new type of coronavirus, Chinese state media reported. Officials at Wuhan Municipal Health Commission reported the outbreak's first death on January 9, a 61-year-old man.

January 13 2020: A Chinese woman in Thailand was the first confirmed case of the mystery virus outside of China. The 61-year-old was quarantined on January 8, but has since returned home in a stable condition after having treatment, the Thai Health Ministry said.

January 14 2020: The WHO say there is some 'limited' human-to-human transmission of the virus. Two days previously, the UN agency said there was 'no clear evidence of human to human transmission'.

January 16 2020: A man in Tokyo is confirmed to have tested positive for the disease after travelling to the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Deadly Chinese virus may have infected over 1700 people, study claims

chinese-virus.jpg

A deadly virus in China may be significantly more widespread than officially reported, according to a disturbing new study. The mysterious coronavirus, which originated in the central Chinese city of Wuhan has already caused the death of at least two people.

Wuhan health officials on Saturday confirmed four more people had contracted the virus — whose symptoms include difficulty breathing, coughing and fever — bringing the total number of reported cases to 45-50, Sky News reported.

But a new study from London’s Imperial College says the actual number of infected could be as high as 1,723 just in the city of Wuhan, the outlet reported. The virus was also found in Thailand and Japan in each case in people who had recently visited Wuhan.

“It is likely that the Wuhan outbreak of a novel coronavirus has caused substantially more cases of moderate or severe respiratory illness than currently reported,” the report stated, according to Sky News. "The virus is believed to be spread from animals to people, but the Imperial College study said person to person transmission “should not be ruled out.”

On Saturday, health officials in the city confirmed four more people had contracted the illness. Differing reports now place the total number of infections at 45 or 50 cases. Major airports in the United States and Asia have increased screenings of passengers coming in who have traveled to the city.

China's killer virus comes to the US: American male in his 30s is hospitalized in Washington State with CONTAGIOUS Sars-like Coronavirus after visiting Wuhan epicenter, CDC says

A man in his 30s outside Seattle, Washington, has been diagnosed with the coronavirus spreading from China, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials announced on Tuesday. The man is an American who arrived in the US after visiting Wuhan, the center of the outbreak, the day before screening was implemented at JFK, LAX and San Francisco. All flights from Wuhan will now be rerouted through those three airports and additional two: Chicago O'Hare and Atlanta. The virus is now active in five countries outside of China: Thailand, S. Korea, Japan, Taiwan and America.

Nostradamus Predicted Killer Virus As Coronavirus Continues To Spread

Even though he passed away in 1566, Nostradamus correctly predicted many events that happened after his death, such as the rise of Hitler and Napoleon, in addition to the 9/11 attacks on America. And based on recent events, it seems as though another one of the French prophet’s predictions has come true.

In one of his passages, he wrote, “The great plague of the maritime city will not cease until there be avenged the death of the just blood, condemned for a price without crime, of the great lady outraged by pretense.” It seems as though he was predicting the SARS-like outbreak that’s happening right now in the world. An outbreak of a new coronavirus started in China and has spread to different countries around the world: Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States.

Nostradamus-570x701.jpg

Nostradamus

As for the “maritime city” that was mentioned in the passage, a conspiracy theorist has an idea of what location Nostradamus was referring to. “The start of SARS and preponderance of cases are in China, many of which are in Hong Kong. Therefore it is reasonable to view Hong Kong as ‘the maritime city’.”

And the “great lady” could possibly be Wu Yi who was previously the Chinese Health Minister and who helped to control the SARS virus.

So far, the deadly Chinese coronavirus – which has flu-like symptoms that include coughing, fever, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing – has affected approximately 500 people with 17 deaths. What’s even more frightening is that scientists have warned the public that as many as 10,000 people could have caught the SARS-like virus while visiting Wuhan, China.

There has so far been one diagnosed case in the United States (Washington State) as a man in his 30s caught the virus while visiting Wuhan.

So where did this virus come from? According to a new study (which can be read in full here), it is believed that the virus originated in snakes and spread to humans. There are two types of snakes that are commonly found around the area in which the outbreak originated: Bungarus multicinctus (or the many-banded krait) and Naja atra (or the Chinese cobra).

Nostradamus predicted many disturbing things in history, and this new SARS-like virus is one of the scariest predictions he has made, as more and more people are being affected by this deadly strain.

Deadly coronavirus is MUCH more contagious than feared: Medics confirm the disease that has killed 18 can be spread by COUGHING - as Singapore, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia become latest countries to confirm cases

Untitled.png

Authorities in Ezhou have shut train stations, while Huanggang has suspended public buses and trains as well as ordering cinemas and internet cafes to close their doors.

The development comes as Wuhan - the city at the centre of the outbreak - nears the end of its first day in lockdown, with all flights out of the city cancelled and residents told not to leave. Videos have shown chaos in Wuhan today, with footage depicting a government worker using gas to disinfect a park (centre), traffic building up on a blocked highway and people scrapping over food in a crowded supermarket.

The World Health Organization has not yet decided what action to take and will meet again today to consider whether the outbreak - which has infected almost 600 people and killed 18 (bottom right, a map reveals how the infection has spread) - is an international emergency. Pictured top left, medical staff at Zhongnan Hospital in Wuhan wear protective suits. Pictured bottom left, passengers at Rome's Fiumicino Airport Authority are scanned by thermal imaging to check if they have a raised body temperature - a sign of the killer virus. Texas investigates a THIRD potential US coronavirus case as second suspected victim is hospitalized in LA and doctors monitor SIXTEEN people who came into contact with Patient Zero in Washington State

Health officials in Brazos County on Thursday said they are investigating a suspected case of the deadly new coronavirus in a person who recently traveled to Wuhan, the Chinese city where the virus originated. The patient, who was not named, has been isolated in their home after health care providers recognized their symptoms as consistent with the coronavirus - which has killed 18 people and sickened more than 600 across at least nine countries. So far only one case of the virus has been confirmed in the US - a Washington state man who was diagnosed on Monday after returning from a trip to Wuhan.

That man is currently being treated by a robot in a guarded bio-containment room at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Doctors have identified and are monitoring 16 people he came into contact with in the US during the five days before he was diagnosed. Officials are also investigating another potential case involving a passenger who flew into Los Angeles International Airport from Mexico City on Wednesday. The two new suspected infections came as health experts warned that the US will likely see an increase in cases as the coronavirus continues to spread at an alarming rate.

I read about that of some Chinese were eating bats which is thought to be the start of this virus, if that is the case we may have only seen the beginning...This virus could at this moment be mutating inside its new human hosts, something like this could turn really deadly fast in my opinion, its already highly contagious if the reports are correct...

A New CDC Warning
According to the CDC, a person could be at risk if they have:
  • Fever and symptoms of lower respiratory illness, such as coughing or difficulty breathing, after travelling to Wuhan or having close contact with someone who was ill and is now under investigation for the virus in the past two weeks.
  • Fever or symptoms of lower respiratory illness after having close contact in the past two weeks with someone who's been confirmed to have the virus.
The CDC defined "close contact" as being within about 6 feet (1.8 m) "or within the room or care area" of a person with the coronavirus for a prolonged period without appropriate protective clothing, or "having direct contact with infectious secretions" of a person with the virus without protective clothing.

The agency said close contact could include "caring for, living with, visiting, or sharing a health care waiting area or room" with a person with the virus.

The CDC said that if you have travelled to Wuhan recently and feel any of these symptoms, you should "seek medical care right away," call ahead to tell your doctor about your travel and symptoms, and avoid contact with other people.

People in the US who meet these criteria should be evaluated for the virus and their case reported to their state health department, it added.

Iran and North Korea are making nukes again, global warming and Brazilian farmers are burning ecosystems, Chinese mutating viruses are going global and celebs (US) and comedians (Ukraine) are elected for presidents.

Yeah, Elon Musk should hurry up with that rocket to Mars. I can see big demand for tickets coming. We all can have fresh start there :)

Coronavirus 'will infect 350,000 people in Wuhan alone': Scientists make alarming new prediction as China locks down FOURTEEN cities and races to build 1,000-bed hospital in just FIVE DAYS

Untitled.png

The Disney Resort in Shanghai (pictured right) said it will close from tomorrow, Saturday January 25, for 'the prevention and control of the disease outbreak', and part of the Great Wall (left) has been closed to visitors. More than 800 people are now confirmed to have been infected with the Wuhan coronavirus and 26 have died (inset top, construction crews are working to build an entire hospital from scratch in Wuhan and, bottom, a man is seen wearing a face mask surrounded by Lunar New Year decorations). Online reports suggest Tiananmen is the latest city to have shutdown procedures in place - more than 10 are reporting that public transport is being cancelled and roads are being closed. Experts believe the true number of cases is likely to be in the thousands as it has emerged that the virus can spread just by coughs and sneezes.

Do these videos show people collapsing in the streets of Wuhan? Footage emerges of men and women 'unable to stand in Chinese city at center of the coronavirus outbreak'

Untitled.png

Dozens of videos being circulated on social media purport to show people collapsing in the streets of the Chinese city of Wuhan, epicentre of the new coronavirus outbreak, as medics rush to treat them. The city, home to 11 million people, has been placed on lockdown by China as authorities try to contain the spread of the SARS-like disease, which has killed at least 26 people and infected more than 800. The virus, for which there is no known cure or vaccine, is thought to have first jumped from animals into humans at a seafood market in Wuhan before being spread as people travelled for Lunar New Year celebrations. Cases have now been reported in Vietnam, South Korean, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, the UK and US.

Leading US health experts predicted coronavirus could kill 65million people in a year - in chilling warning three months BEFORE the outbreak in China

Leading US health experts predicted a coronavirus could kill tens of millions of people in a chilling warning three months before the deadly outbreak in China. Scientists at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security modeled a hypothetical pandemic on a computer as part of research last October. The simulation predicted 65 million people from every corner of the world would be wiped out in just 18 months. So far the highly contagious disease currently ravaging China has killed 26 people and infected more than 900 - but experts predict the true number to be thousands.

Chinese 'nurse' claims corpses of coronavirus victims are left lying in a Wuhan hospital crammed with patients as she warns 'everyone will end up being infected' in desperate plea for help

Corpses of coronavirus victims are being left unattended in the corridor of a hospital flooded with patients in Wuhan as the Chinese city is ravaged by the deadly infection, it has been revealed. The chilling scene, captured by a woman who claims to be a nurse, was posted to the country's social media today but quickly censored. In a post, the self-proclaimed medical worker described how patients were being sent in non-stop without any quarantine measures, warning that 'everyone will end up being infected and dying'.
