I know when AH went down a lot of people were confused. But I'd like to speak some truth about the situation. I won't mention any names, But the guy that ran AH, He had run the message boards for years. He knew what those connections meant to people, He knew how it would affect people when he took it offline.

He knew it would hurt people. I know this sounds like I've lost all respect for this person whose name I don't mention, But He could have given warning, Time for people to connect to one another. Time to prepare. He did not.

For whatever reason. He saw fit that if he wasn't going to control the whole thing anymore, That those connections people formed meant nothing to him. No matter how you look at things, He could have given people a warning. But he didn't care. Every day here at these forums, More and more of us find each other. But Don't be so soft that you remember AH through rose colored glasses. What he did to the community was heartless. There was no excuse for handling things the way he did. It was selfish. If he was going to stop or quit. To hell with everyone else and their friends and their connections. It was the most brutal and heartless way to end a community I had ever seen in all my years.

I leave this message to stand here. The community is reforming. Without him. And some day. We will be complete again.

Some people will dismiss online communities and the friendships formed as irrelevant. As though they are less 'real' because of anonymity. I have always treated every member behind their avatar as a real person. Given some of the people I have met...that has been, at times, scary, disturbing, perplexing and even amusing. Mostly, though, its been rewarding.

I lost a dear friend Olivia who was the approx the same age as me ,I wonder will she ever find this place ,I still remember how we argued in the significance of religion she was a Buddhist and I am atheist so we got along pretty well after many hot discussions...

Practicals from Wednesday and exams are starting from 15th of September,so I guess I won't be around much and specially that day after tomorrow lab test and practical of maths and so on..

You're right, SP. I met people who taught me a lot about myself on Ahub. Some I still talk to, some I don't and I miss them a great deal more than they'll ever know. I don't have many people I'm close to in my life, so when they're gone I feel it.

I've got a great feeling about this place. I don't know the history of Alien Expense, But It already feels like home to me.
I had been at AH for years. It became a routine part of my everyday life. For me, When things ended, It hit me rather hard. Finding this place. It was like waking up from a bad dream.

Good luck with the Exams Athena, I usually got pretty good marks at Physics but my math was pretty bad. I always found interesting but cryptic. Never quite got my head round it properly. Good Luck :)

It's just amazing to me, I've never seen a community come back from something like this. It's almost a miracle.

Spiritual healers claim that if enough people desire something badly enough. that the will and desire alone can cause that thing to manifest. So many of us wanted the community to continue. And here we are coalescing back together.

You are right. Years from now, The story of alien Expanse and its history, We found each other and came back from nothing. It's Amazing. I wonder if people will even believe it in ten years? :p

It's true. They found us at Pissedoffpotato. There is no telling how much work they have done to help pull the community back together.
