The fact is no one really knows what Musk will do with Twitter. Most of the whining is coming from the Woke crowd. They won’t be able to control the way that Twitter is run.

Random surfing last night shows me he's already being vilified - he's in league with Trump, oh and probably Mephistopheles too. Did you know that one of Putin's secret yachts is anchored off Mara Lago ? My TV told me that too last night. No doubt Musk is colluding with the Russians ! Impeach him this instant !

oh wait .......

Yeah, fascism tends to be a bit overused by people who just need a political smear. Communism, Nazism and Fascism are all different types of socialism that all have in common violent takeover of political power. Fascism in its original form is a syndicalism or political system in which working people were represented through syndicates, instead through political party or government. Fascism has nothing to do with mass murder, concentration camps, persecution of Jews etc. Mostly because Italians are really nice people :). Bad things were done through Nazism and Communism.
There isn't really anything admirable about fascism. Syndicalism is a means, and not an end. It is a form of organization and equating it with fascism does not quite get to the heart of what fascism was. Fascism is characterized by unrestrained nationalism, the suppression of individualism, utter obedience to the state, and above all, preparation for, and the waging of, war. War is the end that fascism seeks to bring about. Mussolini said that "peace is an interlude between wars", and that "war is the most important thing in a man's life". It is somewhat ironic that Mussolini's Italy was terrible at waging war.

Most historians would agree with that statement.

Collectively Italy's military in WW2 should have just stayed home, but individual units could be very tough customers according to accounts I've read from North Africa. An army marches on it's stomach but they seem to have felt the need to bring along the whole kitchen. I know it's a generation earlier and it's fighting with them not against them, but reading A Farewell to Arms made me hungry enough to call in for Italian a couple of times.

Agreed. But that's one shade lower then Nazism / Communism which top Fascism with concentration camps. There are lots of shades of grey until we finally arrive to civil society.

FCC commissioner shoots down 'absurd' claim that the federal government can block Musk's Twitter purchase

Brendan Carr, a commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), rejected a left-leaning organization's claim that the FCC has the authority to block Tesla CEO Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter, in part because Musk also owns Starlink.

After Twitter accepted Musk's $44 billion offer Monday, the Open Markets Institute warned that the deal represents a threat to "American democracy and free speech," suggested the deal is illegal, and argued that the federal government has the power to block it.

Elon Musk hints he's shifted to the right over last 14 years as liberals morphed into 'woke progressives': Twitter sees exodus of 'wokerati' since his $44B takeover with Kamala, AOC and Bernie losing THOUSANDS of followers

Elon Musk hinted on Thursday his political sentiment has shifted rightward over the past 14 years, by posting a meme showing a moderate liberal driven into the arms of conservatives. The image depicts a stick figure labeled 'me' remaining stationary relative to another labeled 'conservative', as the figure at the 'liberal' end of the spectrum moves further and further to the left. By the final diagram, labeled 2021, the 'me' figure is to the right of the center line, as the conservative chuckles and the liberal - now labeled 'woke progressive' - accuses the centrist of bigotry. Musk shared the post without comment, but his political views have taken on new significance after his $44billion deal to buy Twitter and his declaration the platform should be 'politically neutral'. Responding to his tweet, many angry liberals claimed conservatives had grown more extreme since 2008, the year Barack Obama was first elected president.

Senate Democrats considering calling Elon Musk to testify on Twitter buy

Some Senate Democrats are reportedly considering calling on Tesla CEO Elon Musk to testify about his plans with Twitter after he reached a $44 billion deal to buy the social media giant.

Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., told Bloomberg in an interview published Thursday: "We’re thinking about" the possibility of hearings.

The Senate Commerce Committee, which Cantwell is Chair, has held hearings with former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. Commerce Committee member Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., called Twitter "central to democracy and our economy."

"We have to understand the censorship or lack thereof, content moderation or not, that is going to be the policy for the new owner," Markey told Bloomberg.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said there was a "powerful imperative" to ask Musk to testify about his plans with Twitter and address lawmakers’ concerns. Neither Musk nor Twitter responded to FOX Business’ request for comment by publication time.

A constitutional amendment would be required. Incredibly difficult at any time, but nigh impossible with him as the prospective candidate.

Maybe you are not electing Elon as a president, but he's taking over US anyway.

He just announced that he's merging Bitcoin and Ethereum. Practically ELON IS NOW IN A CONTROL OF CURRENCY.

George Soros, Clinton and Obama staffers and European governments are behind anti-Musk campaign to force big corporations to boycott Twitter - after Elon demanded to know 'who funds these organizations?'

Some of the most high-profile liberal figures have joined together to encourage advertisers to boycott Twitter if Elon Musk brings in his promised policy of unfettered 'free speech.'

Twenty six NGOs and advocacy groups signed a letter expressing concern about the world's richest man's plan.

Musk himself responded to the letter asking who funded them: the answer being an assortment of 'dark money groups' like George Soros's Open Society Foundation; NGOs founded by former Clinton and Obama administration staffers; wealthy Democrat donors and their family foundations; labor unions; and the governments of European nations.

'Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter will further toxify our information ecosystem and be a direct threat to public safety, especially among those already most vulnerable and marginalized,' they wrote.

They warned that advertising on Twitter would see their company 'risks association with a platform amplifying hate, extremism, health misinformation, and conspiracy theorists.'

The authors continued: 'Under Musk's management, Twitter risks becoming a cesspool of misinformation, with your brand attached, polluting our information ecosystem in a time where trust in institutions and news media is already at an all-time low.

'Your ad dollars can either fund Musk's vanity project or hold him to account. We call on you to demand Musk uphold these basic standards of community trust and safety, and to pull your advertising spending from Twitter if they are not.'

Be born here. Neat trick if he can pull it off at this point :)

They used to talk like that about Schwarzenegger. I have no idea what his track record was in CA but it seems to be much more of a ****hole now than years ago.
