He's always looking for better ways to bring in $$$$ (that don't involve actually working).
If your vehicle was a main source of work income, wouldn’t you try to maintain it?? Steinberg and his wife received a $2400 rebate check from the government. Didn’t he use that to fix his broken car? His whole explanation reeks of BS lies.
Also, why would anyone looking to do online gambling go to a website called “Tech Night Owl Live?” Steinberg’s so-called logic escapes me.
How did I miss this? Word: No way Steinberg has ever received "occasional" offers to buy his worthless site. I wonder if he thinks the rest of us are wrapped up in pipe dreams, get rich quick schemes and general hooey just like him.
At one point many years ago, yahoos like Steinberg could write glowing reviews of Apple products. Those writers would get accommodations or freebies on Apple merchandise. Those days are long gone. Apple doesn’t need praise from Gene Steinberg.
I wonder why he feels it is necessary to have a reviews website. The same goes for the Paracast. Steinberg ran that website into the ground. He somehow thinks he can change the physical look of the website and people will come flocking back. He has conveniently forgotten that he banned many of the members for criticizing him.
As they say, he made his own bed and now he has to lie in it.
Steinberg, like many a geezer, live in the past. The heyday of websites with forums is long past. And how are you gonna get traction for active membership for one that has mostly posts from two nutter hosts and a small, ever changing menagerie of people who take three steps down the path before even they realize it's littered with poop. There are few tech review sites left. And that's because tech is no longer changing at a fast rate for consumers: Nobody really cares any more. New PCs and such are no longer driving the culture.
I'd imagine he is terrified of doing something potentially effective--establishing a serious social media initiative. The idea with those is that you're communicating with your audience on the real side. Meanwhile, Steinberg's real side ain't so very marketable. Plus, he's likely blocked hundreds or thousands from his existing accounts.
Besides banning many of his long time members, he also hit up his guests for money handouts. I imagine that would make many of them wish to return to chat, right!! Any stupid thing he could do to dynamite his websites, that was what Steinberg did. Yet he loves to blame “trolls” for sabotaging his efforts.
Once you tumble down the mountain, it is hard to get back up to the top.
There's a forum who's done something Gene Steinberg never thought of to grift monies from its members...The site owners limit the amount of conversations a member can write unless they pay a fee...Interesting enough, the forum has been dead anyway, with very little activity, so I don't understand the logic in implementing such a pay to post policy but putting that aside it's very pathetic to do such a thing...
I guess I also gave GS a new idea?...lol
I do recall Steinberg was trying to drum up revenue by coming up with Paracast Plus. The problem was this extra program was just chit chat between the hosts. There wasn’t anything new being offered. Steinberg and co-host used this to rag on the guest of the week. No need to hear that.
He had to drop the cost of joining the Plus in order to get anyone to join.
Gene and Randall shill for a 5 year upgrade..
Is this his 'pandemic special'...
I’d rather pay to watch the film that to give Steinberg a dime of my money.
So you get five years of subscription bills to save twenty bucks for the movie lol...In all fairness I guess if someone likes his podcasts and doesn't mind paying five years of fees then the movie would be a bonus...
How much is 5years.. yeah.. pay $120
For a $20 movie? Sign me up!..NOT
I daresay the kind of person who would swallow that hook is someone for whom the flawed math and dubious expectations of actually getting the five years are the least of their problems. Also, imagine giving your credit card info to an outfit associated with Steinberg. Well, that's just icky.
