This one was taken in a home of a young mother. The mother began experiencing activity at the home after her 6 year old son discovered an overgrown family plot in the rental home's backyard. The house was put up for rent after the previous tenant was put on hospice and moved to a nursing home where he died shortly thereafter. The previous tenant was a child sex offender. Its not very clear but there appears to be a black & white image of a boy standing behind the baby and an old man seated behind the boy's image. Again, original images are clearer. 15151585_10154251429542572_332626697_n.jpg

OK, serious ghost question here. Why I am so darn scared is because when I was young, I seemed to have certain abilities.
Not being a smart Alec here, but on many occasions I would dream the future, undeniably, not dejavue, but I remember a dream the next morning in detail that weeks later happened exactly as I dreamed it. I would sometimes get flashes of what people were doing, go visit them and they were doing exactly what I saw. Anyone who has had a seance as a kid knows its not real hard to tell when someone is dicking around pushing the glass, as compared to something a little more real. When I was present, it always got pretty darn real. When my dog died, I was 2km away. he came to me, I knew without any doubt my beautiful old black Labrador Prince had just died. I got home and dad was sitting with old princes head cradled in his lap in tears, he had just died. I felt so, so bad I was not there for Prince when he passed away. Prince came to say goodbye. (whoa goosebumps again)
But for me the cruncher was this. A mate of mine was an apprentice builder, one Friday night I dropped up to his house to go out, he had renovated the room he was living in. A 100+ year old blue stone dairy, built on an aboriginal burial ground. I was in Friday night and as kids we were in lets go have fun mode. He took me out the dairy and said hey check out the renovations I did today. They looked great I complimented him accordingly then he said, oh yeah, check this out; Look what I found jammed behind the door trim when I put the new door in.
He was holding a really old brooch. I looked at it and it didn't seem strange or interesting really. Just an old brooch.
I put my hand out and he dropped it into my hand, As it touched my hand, in all my life before or since I have never felt such terror, and such evil.It was, indescribable, it almost had a physical impact on me. I dropped it, he took one look at me and without a word walked to the door and threw it as far as he could out into the long grass in the paddock next door.
I was utterly shaken. I don't remember anything else about that weekend.
Monday came round and my car was broken so I had to catch the bus to work. My friend and I lived at the start of the bus route so we were first on. We grabbed the back seat as we often did. Sitting there chatting, Tim let his arm drop over the back of the seat between the backrests and the exit window.
All of a sudden, he looked at me with a look of fear and amazement.
As he brought his hand up, he held the exact same brooch that he threw into the paddock the the previous Friday night.
We were blown away, he immediately threw it out the window of the moving bus.

There were so many other things, small and significant over the previous years that had happened to me,
I thought at the time, this is too much, I cant cope with any of this any more. It was wrecking me.
I went home and threw away all my books on the occult, and witchcraft and the like.
So I can't explain how I did it, but I made a mental decision to just make it all stop. I guess you could say I just blocked that part of myself from ever working again.
Since then, I wont say nothing has ever happened, but I can say not much has happened.

I have spoken elsewhere to 22 about my curse of being an em-path, it is great when you can help someone, but like being in a mental blender at times you have no control over.

So in answer to another thread, this is why I choose to believe my nightmares are just dreams, nothing more.

So here is my question to you crazy buggers that do this stuff for entertainment.

The only way I know to protect myself is to shut it out.
I am terrified what might happen if I ever chose to let myself open that door again.

I have a real and genuine fear that if I were to do it, I am not saying I would be possessed because that's just silly. But I am terrified that I would open a door that would allow the other side to follow me home.

Is there a way an unstable bugger like me can protect myself from this. Or am I best staying in safe denial where I am.

    Ghost Bridge in Winchester, KY.

Its a small wooded bridge that crosses over railroad tracks. I can't confirm the urban legend of some teens jumping to their deaths here but I know for a fact a body was dumped here many years ago (I don't know if the murder occurred on site however. I would have to ask the relative of the victim again to get that fact straight since I don't remember.). This a very creepy place to be at night. We heard footsteps on the gravel beneath the bridge but no one would be under the bridge at the time. As I recall, fog that night made photos difficult. I did have some but they are gone.

My best friend lived out in this area when we were teenagers. Quite a few strange things happened. I think one incident may have been an actual stalker. I will say that this is haunted land.

Planters' Row Golf Clubhouse, Nicholasville, KY

I investigated this one twice. The clubhouse itself is (or was) a historic building that was once a private residence. The basement allows for no light and when down there it is pitch dark. On both occasions we witnessed colored sprites (colorful orbs of light) flicker about in the pitch dark. These are not orb 'bugs' sometimes photographed nor are they the phosphenes one gets with pressure to the eyeball.

I have learned that there was a fire there a few years ago. I don't know if the clubhouse was destroyed as well but I believe that the fire forced the closure of the golf course. My first investigation here was with Patti Starr, a well known paranormal investigators and author. She is another one that is consulted in productions of A Haunting and other paranormal documentary and reality shows. She owns a specialty shop in Lexington, KY (my hometown) that caters to paranormal investigators. Can't buy EMF detectors and dowsing rods at Walmart! Others in the field that I have investigated with or met on occasions (besides TAPS, GHI and GAC) are Chip Coffey (Paranormal State), John Zaffis (Haunted Collector), Chris Dedman (Guest Demonologist SyFy, Travel Channel, A&E, etc and all around pompous ass...j/k Chris is a great guy), Brad & Barry Klinge (Ghost Lab...only ran for two seasons on Discovery which is too bad because it was a good show) and Amy Allen (Dead Files). I've met and had an in-depth but informal discussion the family that inspired the movie The Haunting in Connecticut. As well as the owners of the infamous Waverly Hills Sanatorium and Bobby Mackey's. (BTW I pay no mind to the opinions of Joe Nickell of Skeptical Inquirer...he's not an investigator...nor skeptic...he's a close-minded debunker who proposes 'explanations' even more ridiculous than the paranormal ones. I will normally give anyone the benefit of consideration of their opinions but Nickell rarely does that for others. You get what you give.).

This also was a tavern. We got strangled breathing on record in the very last cell which was also solitary. We later learned that an inmate died in that cell from TB.

I investigated here several times as I had the freedom to do so. I was Captain and Commander of this facility (I was CO at night. The Jailer and Deputy Jailer were only on post during the day so the entire facility was under my command) until 2011 when I retired due to disability jamiesisson.jpg We had several deaths there over the years. Inmates always complained of ghosts waking them at night, walking their cells, hiding their things from them. And I confess that I took great delight in scaring the shit out of them at every opportunity. lol

Honestly, though, we did have a 'visitor' that could be seen from the control tower. They would always be seen, in the dead of night, walking across the lobby from the restrooms to the vestibule door. This would be very aggravating because we would always have to check the lobby to make sure no one was in there. There never was. It was just 'Inmate' as we called him. The lights to the cells down one particular hallway would be turned off and on through out the night. The switch, inaccessible to the inmates, would be in the opposite position it was previously left in. Doors on empty cells could be heard to open and close on their own (its impossible to open the door without the key or using the master switch in the control tower) and we would have to go check the door to make sure it was secure. It always was.

We had recordings. Inmate could be seen on video surveillance. We had evps that caught during recordings.

I don't have the photos anymore. I might have some of the evps. I will have to check. We did have a surveillance cam of something walking in front of it but that is the property of the jail itself. It really bugs me that I have so little left from places I have been. My mentor is supposed to be gathering some for me of some of the places. I do have some video from the old farmhouse I posted. I have photos, evps and such that I can share though. I was just trying to recall all the places I've investigated here in this thread. I can share what I have though if people want to see it.

A little note on orbs...some investigators will dismiss them as 'bugs' and what-not. Many of them are and should be dismissed. However, not all of them are. So I always examine each one rather than dismissing them. Orbs that emit light or are at a distance from the camera are not bugs.

So how do you determine what's what?

Dust and bugs will be very close to the lens and flash to create an orb. If you can judge the distance of objects in your shot then you can rule out dust and bugs. If you can't then no matter how neat the orb, its useless as indicative of activity.

You should be aware of how far you are standing from an object. If you have a tree in the distance and an orb partially hid behind the tree then you can judge the orb is behind the tree in the distance. If you have a headstone in the distance and an orb is casting shadow on the headstone then you can judge the distance from the direction of the shadows, etc.

Moisture droplets are also a source of orbs and they are easy to spot. Even though they are a natural artifact, I don't dismiss them either. Water has been used for centuries as a scrying surface. Entities attempting to communicate to a scryer or other person desiring it to 'show itself' may present it's reflection on the water surface or within the water matrix. Moisture orbs, then, are really no different from a crystal ball to a communicating entity. Many times recognizable faces can be seen in moisture orbs. Entities will use what is available to them. So, I don't dismiss them. But I would never rely on just orbs as indications of activity. It's debatable and all I can say is that I reserve my judgement on a case by case basis.

I don't believe in the supernatural. It's not logically possible for the supernatural to exist no matter what physics are at play. What I believe in is the paranormal. That is to say that I believe in phenomenon that is beyond our normal understanding of the physics of our universe. As to your question, I have already answered that. All orbs are natural and some are paranormal.

well to start with I think you need to look up the definition of supernatural! But for now I'll indulge you-----------
natural as in a normal electrical disturbance (or something along those lines) not really known to science yet I take it:

so you film orbs or look at footage of orbs (whatever) therefore how the hell do you work out what is what out of the 2 to come to the conclusion: 'Some orbs are natural and some are paranormal'???

    Fascinating..................

No, I don't think I do. My reading comprehension is just fine. I will indulge you however...

Supernatural implies something beyond nature. Nothing exists beyond nature. If it exists, it's natural. A minor distinction but I think distinctions are important when seeking clarity. You don't agree?

"the hell do you work out what is what out of the 2 to come to the conclusion: 'Some orbs are natural and some are paranormal'???"

Didn't I answer that clearly enough? Perhaps more clarity is required then...

ALL orbs are natural. They exist regardless of whatever they may be. SOME are paranormal because they are not explained with our current understanding. They are beyond normal, not beyond natural. Just because you or I don't have an explanation for what they are (the paranormal ones) doesn't make them exist DESPITE the laws of physics. They are not SUPERnatural.

Now, you can pull up the dictionary all you like but this singular distinction is important for matters of clarity. It's not important for TV shows about hunting demons.
