Yesterday on an outing I found these in a antique store.
A complete collection of the 1968 to 1978 UFO flying saucers comic book!
The comics are rare and cost money lots of money!
These reprint books give one a look at a strange chapter in UFO lore . And I wondered how they would cover famous cases
I also wondered if they would give any time to hoaxes like Billy Mier.
Today I start a journey into these lost comics and see if any value is to be found.

My first observation is that in 1978 they started a second comic called "UFOs and outer space" how ever.

The second series are just the same content renamed. UFOs and flying saucers comic had 14 issues the renamed book also 14 for a total of 28. Note the cover and the UFOs as hostile this theme is present in all stores. UFOs are not friendly and are to be feared

On this cover the hickson parker abduction is depicted the robot like aliens are replaced with little green men who look like orcs or goblins

WOW ! Those covers look very familiar and I had them as a kid. Long gone now. Haven't though about this in years.

My grandfather worked for Western Printing (Publishing) for 40+ years as a lithographer starting in Racine, WI and ending up in the Poughkeepsie, NY until retirement. They printed Gold Key comics and I had tons of them. As a small kid he took me to the plant several times and I remember printing presses the size of houses with men walking around on them. Maybe those ^^^^. I have (and use) his Bulova Accutron M68 watch inscribed from the 3rd shift when he retired.

There were also Golden Books and blanks - comics that had not yet been stapled or printed that he gave me to draw on, which I did endlessly. I still have some - unsurprisingly in the late 60s I was drawing Star Trek spaceships

The plant's long gone. It had been a Fiat plant prior and between that and ink it was an ecological nightmare. It's a Home Depot now and I have no sympathy that they had to eat the cleanup cost to put up yet another one.
