Happy Birthday Shadow Sorry I missed it. I tend to wander off for days at a time now lol
I would imagine that you already have the digital audio files of the original and awesome 1937-8 Orson Welles broadcasts of The Shadow, but on the off chance you don't already have them, you have a birthday present coming ;
Let me know how you will send it
I'm glad to report that all 32 episodes are still available for download at this site:
Archive of The Shadow episodes with Orson Welles
Just go to the right side under "Download Options" and select "MP3" and you'll see the whole list with a download icon under each episode.
Enjoy! There are some great episodes in that collection. It boggles the mind that Orson Welles was only 22 years old when he started doing The Shadow - the writing and performances were often spectacular.
Thanks the shadow is my favorite show. Hard to believe that programs that were made years ago still are fun and enjoyable today.
That's the enduring power of great art - it was so well written and performed that they'll always be a joy to listen to. When we were kids my brother used to play LPs of these show when we went to bed - really wonderful, wholesome entertainment, with the unmistakable charm of better days, before America became a hellish corporatist oppression state.
It would`ve been my fathers 76th birthday today. I went and paid my respects at his grave. Hard to believe he`s been gone 30 years. Here he is in Cali in 63, check the car out, he said it had the dual quad 409/4 speed
Beautiful car! Your dad looks barely old enough to drive.
