Karaganda UFO and Ohio Chase UFO similarities

These two pictures are from a very old known case (first one, Ohio 1966) and one of the videos shared by the Dow, release 02 (file name: DOW-UAP-PR072, Karaganda UFO).

I think they look a bit similar, given the Karaganda UFO is explained mostly as a rocket (weird banana rocket then) and the other one was explained as a street lamp fixture.

What are your thoughts?

I had a look at DOW-UAP-PR072 and the DoW isn't terribly informative, is it? There were launches from the Kosmodrom Plesetsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia and the Baokonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan in February 2022 but I didn't find any in March when that video was taken. In any case, the first is over 3000 kilometeres away and the second over 1200km. Google Maps terrain shows that's pretty flat so I suppose it might be possible to see something if launched from the latter but again, found no record of one.

The Sary-Arka airport where that was taken is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere so beyond a rocket launch I can't imagine what might've caused it. A pity that video wasn't longer and we have no way of knowing if it was edited, I'd assume its inclusion and classification means it wasn't. Not sure what could be gleaned from that but you're right it does look a lot like that other pic. Mighty odd street light.
 
I connected the two cases, because on Metabunk someone proposed the moon peaking through clouds, for the Karaganda one.
I think for the 1966 Ohio picture it actually was proposed the same possible solution (moon peaking through the clouds).

Also on Karaganda, it doesn’t look like any rocket sighting I’ve seen, in any video.
I don’t know, how could the rocket produce such a bright lenticular shape light?
Could be a weird effect, from a plane’s landing lights but, still, pretty weird.
Such a shame the video is shorter, surely that’s not the full version.
Also, super unclear story, there’s also written something about the video being digitally manipulated.
So who knows?
 
For the Ohio case, go figure, it’s a grainy picture, but I think that also shows it’s harder to see a street lamp fixture there.
Could be. Hard to deduce anything, but if we were to discuss “disc shaped objects” or effects in the sky, I think that’s what we’re seeing.
To clarify, if saucers were real 100%, I still would require more evidence for aliens.
But there actually were some old pictures of disc shaped “things” from those years.
 
Yeah, there's not really enough meat on the bone in that video or picture to do much with. Even with much better photography it's still debated endlessly as with the McMinnville UFO photographs. Jerome Clark categorized shapes and sizes of UFOs in detail - if I remember correctly, it's been a while. Might be worth a look
